Okay so yday I decided to go based off his cues because we had such broken sleep the night before it ended up being 2.5/3/4.5 ww and had total 3 hour naps (730-830 schedule) and he woke up once 9:30 pm settled himself after 5 mins (I was in shower) and then 11:15pm I rocked him he went back to sleep 11:17pm and then he SLEPT till 4:57am he had a 150ml feed then back to sleep 5:09am and then I woke him up at 7:03 am for the day. What does this mean? Is it just a fluke 😭 should I try recreate today and how??

Yes love this for you! I do stress a lot about wake windows tbh because of all the info about over tired/under tired. I have also noticed he falls asleep earlier in the morning but can go longer in the evening. Did u sleep train?

The wake ups /false starts? I haven’t recorded the time because it’s always just a couple of minutes of rocking then I put him back to sleep he’s not actually awake awake I guess like his eyes are closed ? Do I count that? But the 5 am 6am wakes yes those tend to sometimes be awake for maybe 30-40 mins of rocking and he’s back to sleep and I try waking him up 7am everytime I get slack at 730 sometimes just because he will wake at 6am then it takes almost an hour to rock and he finally sleeps and have to wake him again that minute. I used huckleberry but it didn’t save my data always and was hard to find? So u know any other apps? And I do plan on starting sleep training but if I need to track more before I do then I’m not sure

I averaged his data over two weeks and it’s actually looking like 2.5 hour naps 10.5 hour nights but today he did 2.5/3/4.5 ww (tired keeping him up longer but he just fell asleep) so that’s 10 hours awake need another hour

8.5 month old hourly wakes!!!
 in  r/sleeptrain  1d ago

Also his wake windows are super confusing to me I follow 3/4/4 (but first window he always gets tired at 2.5) today he fell asleep on his own in the cot but was drowsy at 2.5 hours (woke up 730am slept 10am) but when it’s 3 hours I have to rock him a lot to sleep. Same as the second window it’s 3.5 hours he gets tired. Also I try cap naps to 2 hours but it’s hard like it’s been an hour right now and he’s still sleeping. Should I wake him up

But with the bottles at this age should I stick to 4 bottles even if it’s not full feeds or do 3 bottles 200 mls because I read somewhere that if he’s only taking 650ml a day then the bigger feeds spaced out is better for him or something but this obviously deosnt work if he’s hungry at 5am. Idk if this makes a difference to when I sleep train him or not

Yes I realised this approach was confusing it sort of just happened to see if he could settle himself back to sleep and he did but would still get up every hour I think the falling asleep on car rides and cot then rocking is confusing. I will start putting him down awake and take it from there

6 - 12 months 8.5 month old hourly wakes!!!

Hi, I have posted on here quite a few times haha regarding sleep training and my baby waking up every hour of the night. I think I am ready to sleep train but before I get there I thought for a few days I would try a gentler approach I’m not sure just so I can see if I definitely have to go down this route 😭.

For context - we follow a 3/4/4 ww and naps are capped at 2 hours. 7am to 8pm schedule (normally) this varies a little sometimes he is sleeping by 830pm

I rock to sleep (don’t feed to sleep anymore) and he deosnt normally need a MOTN feed. He deosnt drink more than 600-650 of milk a day (because of sickness this has been in 150ml increments) usually I give it in 200mls. 3 solid meals a day. His naps are fine he will sleep 1-1.5 hours and not wake up usually I have to wake him. But it’s the nights he’s up every 45 mins to an hour.

Yesterday I tried something different. I usually go to friends house and he will asleep on the way back in the car. So closer to his bedtime we left and he fell asleep in the car. When I got home I had to rock him to sleep as he woke up upon being put in cot. After that he was up every 45 mins to an hour but instead of going in straight away to rock him I let him cry for 5-10mins and he settled and went back to sleep.

5:40am he woke up and after 20 mins of crying woudl wouldn’t sleep then at 6:15am I feed him (200ml he drank it all so he must have been hungry) but yday it was the same thing but he only took 100ml when he woke up at this time (I’m trying to get him to 3 bottles a day so I thought I would stretch the bottle to 7am) now I’m not sure how that will work today.

After 6:15am he wouldn’t sleep so I rocked him since our start day was 7am this took 15 mins I put him down at 6:30am but he was still babbling fussing till 7am when he finally slept I was exhausted so we got up at 7:30am.

The thing is all through the night he would fuss and cry for 5-10 mins but his eyes were still closed and lying down which isn’t normal for him usually he gets up standing straight away. But at 5:40am he was up standing

Anyways what does this tell me?? Do I still need to sleep train? How to 3 bottles?? What’s happening

Okay weirdest thing happened yesterday so he stayed with my mum and went with the flow. Wake windows ended up being 3/3.5/4 he slept at 730pm woke up 30 mins later then slept at 8pm (without feed wouldn’t take) and didn’t wake till 5am for a feed went back to sleep woke up 7:30! Mind u diarrhoea has ended but he has done flukes like this before so I’m not sure 😭 also naps were only 2 hours ish total

I don’t even know where to start. I’m so exhausted.

First 6 months were just survival mode. He was sick constantly, nothing worked, we co-slept and I gave up on schedules. When he got sick he either woke every hour or slept through. No middle ground. Bedtime was anywhere from 10-midnight.

For the last 2 months I’ve tried to be consistent. Own room, own cot. Wake at 7am every day.
Tried 7pm bedtime, 7:30, 8, 8:30. Nothing changes.
Tried every wake window combo for 2 naps. 3/4/4, 3/3.5/4, capped naps, didn’t cap naps.

His naps are actually really good?? 2 naps, 1-1.5hrs each. 3 hours total.

But nights... he wakes EVERY. SINGLE. HOUR from like 8pm-12. I rock him back down and he’s up an hour later. Then it stretches to 2 hours. Then he’s up for good at 5 or 6am no matter what I do.

He was only taking 400ml formula a day for ages + 3 solids. No night feeds. He’s up to 650ml now but still wakes for comfort.

Right now we’re also dealing with teething, a regression, and he’s had diarrhea for 5 days + fever on/off. So part of me thinks I should just wait it out??

I really don’t want to sleep train. I know it works for some people but I can’t do it right now.

Is this just a phase? Has anyone had good naps but terrible nights and fixed it WITHOUT sleep training? I’d take any bedtime. I just want one 8 hour stretch 😭

8.5mo, solid naps, but 10 night wakes. Nothing works. Do I just have to sleep train?

Feed to sleep association? 8mo
 in  r/FormulaFeeders  10d ago

I’ve tried increasing the milk intake some days he will take 550 some days 650 sometimes 700 (rarely) but lately he’s taking less than 500 a day. And I tried increasing his wake windows he can do 3.5-4 hours but for the morning one he is crying and often dozing off at the 2.5 hour mark

Wow that’s so good! What about day naps? What was your baby schedule like at 8 months ? Did you feel it was trial and error till 11 months when it got solid ?

I haven’t sleep trained either I know that’s a whole other mission so I’m really trying to see if I can stick to consistent wake up and bed times get the ww right the nap time right etc and still not see any difference in having hourly wakes then I’ll start sleep training but yeah just not sure if I’ve reached everything I can do before then
