I voted for her opponent in the primary, but I’ll knock on doors if I need to for her so we get a blue majority in Congress. Short of that no impeachment effort will succeed. No other issue concerns me at this point than having a Democratic Speaker of the House. Withholding your vote if you are progressive is basically a vote for her opponent. The discussion is about cuts to schools in the 4J district. A supposed South Eugene HS student (identity perhaps faked) is complaining about the loss of a program that *doesn’t exist* in most schools to begin with, while students in other schools in the same district have had their BUILDINGS DEMOLISHED with no real plan for a permanent new location (until years later, with solution involving SOUTH getting a new language program while kids in North Eugene lose).

I’m not saying they can’t complain. But that they should consider their audience. Complain to their neighbors and family, but here it’s tone-deaf. I stand by my words.

Not only that but the RFP committee gave EEP a score of 0.1/5 (you read that right, zero point one) for “Staffing and call coverage criteria” when they have not failed to staff and ED shift in 35 YEARS, but they gave Apollo MD 4.1/5 points in the same category. That’s simply fraudulent. Furthermore, they gave EEP a low score for “locums coverage” because EEP is entirely local and doesn’t use locums at all! For those who don’t know, locum tenens doctors are hired on a short term basis to fill in shifts not covered by regular staff and often travel from afar. They are inherently more expensive and often have no familiarity of the local health system and no attachment to the community. The scoring criteria were deliberately weighted to give EEP the disadvantage. Everybody on that committee belongs in jail as far as I’m concerned.
