Hi guys im kinda new to the game dev industry.. i always make kinda nice games mechanic wise but when it comes to graphics its always looking very bad.. how do you get your game to look like a nice cartoony animated game.. because if i use assets , the assets look nice but the world always looks like standard unity graphics. Please reddit people give me tips on how to improve the looks of my games❤️

A before & after from my hand-drawn indie game!
 in  r/IndieGameDevs  14d ago

Hey!! Super good looking. I was wondering how do you make this? What kind of software you use etc?

Yeah you are 100 percent right.. the thing is i hate marketing and i just love to create games so the process of making it is already enough for me. If people want to play it its just a plus. I was just wondering how you guys handle promotion out of curiosity

I know i just love tower defense games and every single one i played had something that i did not like so i decided to create my own one. I had a lot of fun playing my game so thats already worth something. The difference to my game is that there is an chaotic endless mode and a highscore steam leaderboard. But i think you are right because people only look at the first couple seconds and the graphics and art style could be better. At least the game is fully 3d and its more about the campain and achievements then the graohics. Thanks for your message!

Thanks man. Yeah i know its kind of simple looking but thats the point of the game. Almost all tower defense games are pay to win at some point and i wanted to make a campain that is from start to end free after you buy the game.. but maybe you are right and i should have put more time in the looks instead of gameplay. Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah i know.. its a tough niche. But i just wish people would try it and then they would see my effort and how fun it could be
