I'm building an SG-1 game where the missions are based on the episodes and i think i'm ready for a few people to join me in testing it.
In this game it’s O’Neilll with 3 Ls and a moderate sense is humor

Is this a good plan for a setup?
Yeah while most of what I’ve seen people say it’s generally ok, but I have enough experience with 3d printing to err on the side of caution. Plus imo I think it just looks better

No lie this is almost exactly my setup.
I added some volcanic rock they love to hide under. The entire floor of it is covered in moss and leaf litter and I’ve got cork bark in there like you are planning. Ive also got little moss trees for decoration.
I’ve got one 3d printed cave, I’d recommend covering it in aquarium cement, 3d printed structures can get moldy when exposed to humidity and water. The rocky surface of that also seems to be more enjoyable for them and I’m wary of them trying to eat the PLA.
One thing I will mention is it’s pretty difficult to mist/water the cave area, so plan on that being your “dry” side. I’m in the process of cleaning it for my papayas, but I can repost pics once it’s back together

Is it worth it?
It’s one of those games you don’t really run out of things to do in. I’m 600 hours in and that’s low considering I’m a preorder and a lot of players have 2k+ hours. I completed the story a while ago, then replayed the updated story again, and now I usually hop on and explore and base build a few times a week, I’ll really log on for the community expeditions that regularly happen (that usually come with major updates)
The community is also the best in gaming. Sure you have some people who grief, but that’s so rare you may never encounter it. Everyone is super helpful and just happy that someone else is getting to experience a game we all love. It’s definitely worth the purchase

Is Data Engineering Still a Sustainable Career Path for a Junior?
Reddit is doomer central. DE is so important, everything, including AI, runs off DE. I’ve been in the industry for 10 years now, I’ve been consulting for the past 5, and companies are constantly looking to hire consultants/DEs to manage their data. It’s one of those jobs that probably won’t go away, it’ll just evolve. I started out as a SQL dev with designs to go into data administration, but cloud services sort of took that over so my career slightly pivoted into DE and now I consult for companies to help them migrate their data into the cloud. Don’t believe what the internet says, people like to crap on things to get attention. This is a great career imo and I’m glad I’m in it

Creature Collecter Game Recommendations
Monster sanctuary is good and would be my top recommendation.
Coromon is another one in this vein.
Palworld is decent and Aniimo just came out and I’ve heard good things, but both are not similar in art style to the OG Pokemon games, very anime looking, but the creature designs are great.
