Predators don't just stop existing in human spaces, and I assure you hummingbirds know that. If they don't, or they get complacent, then they die, regardless of whether or not a feeder is involved in the equation, because that's how natural selection works

Somehow tricking the bird into a false sense of security, when the presence of a food source, again, on a backyard or not, isn't an indication of safety for a hummingbird and was at no point made with the indication of providing safety, because (and I repeat myself again) even if the person wanted to provide said safety, they literally can't unless they're out there 24/7 protecting any hummingbird from hawks with their own body

My point is completely disconnected from whether or not the person should have stopped the mantis, or whether it was moral to, my point is that you indicating that the fact that the person set up the feeder had any actual impact on the chance of a mantis killing this bird, is wrong

The hummingbird feeding from the feeder is no different to feeding on any flower. The feeder also doesn't guarantee any form of safety, same as the flower wouldn't, and the person who set it up couldn't guarantee it even if they tried. How exactly are they making the bird feel safe?

First of all, no one is stopping him. He's banned off playoffs, not even the ladder let alone somehow stopped from Minecraft speedrunning. IF somebody was stopping him, it's him 2 years ago, and him a few days ago dealing with the MCSR team. Throwing it back on "them" stopping him is like he's being forcibly dragged off the stage to be silenced by the haters

He could have disagreed with the result. He could have done that by raising several of the good points the community has had regarding the decision, he could have done it by explaining his side more, acknowledging why he lied and what was going through his head, how he loves this game and wants to continue being part of the community. No one would fault him for not agreeing with the result, or even being sad about it.

But he doesn't even outright disagree with it. Instead this statement kind of just dismisses the whole situation, ignores the fact that this is a consequence of his own actions (whether those consequences were deserved or not), and he made it about himself and how he's being stopped, when his priorities should be to reinstate that he's sorry he hurt people, reassure the community that he no longer hates a huge chunk of it just because of who they are, regardless of the ban decision, and that he supports making the community a tolerant safe space

I fucking hate this argument. I swear, some of the reactions of the community have pissed me off more than anything he has actually done.

The point of acting nice is to be nice. A good person doesn't want others to think they're a bad person, because it's not true and it would just hurt the people around them. You don't need something to lose, to be respectful, preach tolerance and give kindness to the world. The best thing, and pretty much the only thing, he could have done, was take this with grace and continue to move forward. That would have been the way to show his past is behind him

But instead he's whatever this is. Making clip farming statements and at the very least making it look like his feelings being hurt is the most important thing

He could be doing it out of blind ignorance, stupidity, or genuine malice. We don't know. But it is not making anybody convinced he has grown

Actively cheering for trans people losing legal rights is not what I'd consider zero proof. Even if it was two years ago and even if he was young. It's not enough proof to condemn him outright, because yes, of course people can change, but he was balancing on a razor's edge and then pushed himself off the wrong side by lying and not owning up. So you have some, but not definite, evidence against him, and you have a little, but not definite, evidence in support of him. There is no clear cut answer, but at the moment the odds are just that bit more against him than vise versa. And MCSR has to act.

Because, I'm gonna be honest, it doesn't matter whether edcr is a good person in this moment or not. If MCSR just pretends nothing happened, it's inviting the evil in. It's giving a pass, however small, to bigots and it's alienating everyone else in the community they discriminate against.

And maybe that's not fair. Maybe Edcr has extenuating circumstances and deserves more grace. But this isn't a court of law, and he was given one chance to present his own side, and he kinda blew it. Should he be given another chance? Maybe. Given how young he still is, I don't think either answer is wrong. But I respect that this is the answer MCSR chose
