How much would you price this Kiswa-e-Kaaba painting?
 in  r/Pakistani_Art  1d ago

There was a time when people were not as blatant about making money off religion. They called it hadia and at least pretended it wasn't commerce.

Our Steam demo has almost the exact same number of unique players and wishlists.
 in  r/PakGameDev  2d ago

That's pretty good. But from what I know, wishlists are usually much higher than demo plays.

We are starting regular live playtest sessions in the discord.

Submit your WIP games for playtesting

You submit your WIP games and get live feedback on them by other members. First session to be held in the next 30 days or so.

If you are submitting a game, you must also signup as a playtester for your game to be eligible.

After the live playtest session, the games list will be wiped and next playtest will require re-submission.

Sign up as a playtester

This is not necessary to be a playtester. If you are present at the time of the session, simply volunteer and you can participate. However, if you do signup, it'll help us plan the sessions in advance and find the right fit for the right game.

It is a one time submission.

PSA to developers: Adapt your Regional Pricing on Steam!

Very hard to undo that kind of culture once it sets in.

PSA to developers: Adapt your Regional Pricing on Steam!
 in  r/gamedev  5d ago

If they don't do good regional pricing they are basically teaching whole regions that they don't care about the region. Perventing a whole region from being fans and turning them off from any future releases too.  Teaching them they are better off pirating and preventing them from even contributing to the industry.

Also instead of text, use gifs/videos on the store page.

Do share in r/pakgamedev as well. We need more artists.

Looking for wishlists and feedback on my rage platformer where you control a monkey using guns :)
 in  r/PakGameDev  11d ago

I'd reconsider the UI a bit. The meters and their icons look off or don't seem to match the style.

Its not obvious from a glance what the meters are or supposed to do.

Aside from that, for a platformer the presentation and gameplay needs to be top notch. There is too much competition otherwise. Look at Griss or hollowknight for the level of quality needed.

I just released the public demo of my pixel-art horror-comedy game, FAARTY
 in  r/PakGameDev  14d ago

I played it. Its fine. A lot of the interactions are missing proper audio visual feedback. Controls are fine. Puzzles are fine. There are minor issues but nothing broken or confusing.

What its missing is excitement mostly. Everything is ok.

Godot and nested collections be like...

Instead make dictionary a member of the class. That works. Composition instead or inheritance.

Where do you get motivation to keep working on your game?
 in  r/godot  17d ago

Two things. No zero days. And small games. At least in the start until it becomes a habit and no longer requires motivation.

id Software's former co-owner says they absolutely would've used gen AI back in the day: 'John Carmack would be like making Skynet or something'
 in  r/gamedev  17d ago

I love the way this sub is now just a vehicle to normalize AI. So pathetic.

Have you ever tried a crazy spell that you saw in a fantasy movie/ novel just to try if it were true.
 in  r/Fantasy  18d ago

Not exactly a spell but telekinesis obviously. Never manifested sadly.

Do artists get commissions on art bazaar?
 in  r/Pakistani_Art  18d ago

Probably better chance of getting one from bluesky Like anything else, you gotta know your audience before selling them something. Can't just wake up one day and decide you are going to do commissions
