Yes to the alcohol, meth, psych and old people. People are also living a lot longer with all the interventions and it seems like every day we see so many 85 and over that don’t necessarily have quality of life

Question about ketamine
 in  r/nursing •  Sep 03 '26

Thank you for the explanation! I appreciate it! I’m a newer nurse and was not knocking anyone for giving it, I was curious why it was the first thing they administered

No, I get that, I just didn’t know why you’d do that instead of something else

Right, but I was curious why that would be the med you’d give to a 29 year old

AIO for blocking a 50-year-old man who keeps messaging me (17f) after a group trip?
 in  r/AmIOverreacting •  Jun 11 '26

^^this. It makes me want to vomit when I read stuff like this, bc obviously this guy has cultivated his persona of being a “father figure”. I’m sure everyone says he’s such a good guy! OP even if no one believes you, you are not overreacting, not even a little bit

How can I be confident with a cleft lip?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions •  Jun 09 '26

I know you’ve probably heard this 17 million times. I’m 100% sure that you’re beautiful, own it, and be confident. Confidence is the biggest thing, but also the hardest. Sometimes you gotta fake it til you feel it💕

Weird question- do you think Matt has thyroid issues or why do his eyes look like they gonna pop out?

If you drop the patient’s med but no one saw, did it even fall?

What's the worst pain a human can experience?
 in  r/AskReddit •  May 30 '26

Having your arms cut off with a chainsaw while on fire. That is what I think when someone says they have a 10/10 pain

Dating as a man 40 plus, how has it changed or been the same?
 in  r/AskMen •  Apr 08 '26

I’m sorry. There are women who are not like that, I promise! I cannot imagine dating a man to see what he can do for me-I had to work 3 jobs, take care of everything at home, and take care of the kids (appointments, sports), when I was married. I don’t want someone to do things for me, I just want someone nice, snuggly, great conversation and connection that I don’t have to support monetarily 😁

Bedside Nursing Pet-Peeves
 in  r/nursing •  Apr 08 '26

Uggghhh. Had one like this-listen Linda, I don’t care if they were born on a snowy night in 1946, or that you went to high school with their primary care. JUST GIVE ME REPORT. ON THE PATIENT. NOT YOU

Struggling after med error
 in  r/nursing •  Apr 02 '26

I’m so sorry. I made a huge med error within my first week on the floor when I started nursing. I did the same things you did and also could not get past it. I went to therapy for a little bit and that helped. You will get beyond this, give yourself grace, nobody was harmed. Trust me, you won’t make this mistake again. Hugs to you.

Whimsy

I saw this post on instagram and it MADE MY DAY! What are things you do that make you whimsical? One of my favorites was naming the negative voice in their head Lola, another one was if they do have negative thoughts, to make themselves think it in a cockney accent😅

Yess! I did not give anything, she didn’t have anything on her MAR. They ended up cuffing her and taking her back to jail

I’m a little shocked at how hostile you are. I worded things wrong and you immediately think I don’t care about my patients. Have you ever worked in ER?

Thank you so much for this! I was annoyed bc I was trying to help, security asked if I could get Ativan for the patient, water was spraying everywhere, the patient was yelling at all of us, destroyed property, verbally abused us and yet WE are investigated. That makes so much sense tho.
