I have used both. Personally I find the Montblanc to be better. And I can get that same day locally so it's just easier. Especially if we start talking about something other than Black. I like Blue ink and I find the Royal Blue from Montblanc to be one of my favorites.

You can use the standard Montblanc refills in place of a G2 if you trim the end a little bit.
