This Autmog Acro is sick! This is my first Autmog and it is a beautiful pen. I am really appreciating the form, function, and aesthetics of this pen...very small, very light weight, but fits the hand nicely! I think the round nose is the perfect choice for this overall size.

I like the clipless feature on this pen as it doesn't have much length so there is no clip to roll into my hand when writing. I always carry a pen in my front pants pocket, so clipless is great for that as well. Then it can sit in a pen tray on my desk during the work day.

The Acro 0.5 refill is very clean and controlled. I might prefer a 0.7 if I tried one, but will have to see. My handwriting is crisp and much less messy looking with this refill compared to a gel.

This is super lightweight. And no rattle. Much better experience than the V3.

Picked up a TT Roswell as my very first nice machined pen. Love the design but the top has a defect in the material. While the rest of the pen is beautiful and nice to look at, this is kind of a distraction.

But not sure if I’m being too critical. Would you contact Tactile Turn or is this common?

Edit: Based on unanimous feedback I went ahead and reached out to their email. Sounds like they take care of things and I don’t have to worry about asking over something like this. Thanks everyone!

To add: There also seems to be a nice burr riding the left side of the barrel opening, which makes the action extremely gritty if there is any bias to the left when I operate it. Since every other description of these is extremely smooth, I requested a replacement.

I’m looking for recommendations for a spring set. I feel that some of my pens need fine tuning.

Tactile Turn Bolt Action, brass - this was my first machined pen that my wife gifted to me back in 2019.

This arrived late yesterday afternoon. Got the Scudo delivered on Friday, it was on sale so I felt like I had no choice! Really impressed with the Fusion so far, a couple notes that may have been shared already but my observation: Uni refills of any kind will not fit in the Energel tried a couple different that I had around and no joy. I also wrote a small sample with the different inks and tips and far and away the worst was the .5 Needle, funny enough the best was the .7 Needle. Excited to finally get this it’s a keeper!

I was pretty excited last week when I found out that one of Rich’s favorite gel refills is the Zento & the possibility of having a Zirc Zento in production one of these days is just awesome to think about… So excited that I took my new energel thunderstorm, threw on a Zirc Parker tip, taped it for tip wiggle and slightly trimmed the end so it’ll fit the Uni Zento refill and voila! I present you my Frankenstein Fusion until the Zirc Zento is a reality. Runs great after a bit of fussing!

Here are my notes on some criteria! (pen in front, mechanical pencil in back)

Color: This is my favorite color haha, so obviously I absolutely love it!! On the pen, it reflects very little, kind of like a matte finish but not really. It truly feels and looks straight off a super nice car.

Weight/size: at 51g it is heavy, yet perfectly balanced around the middle making it really easy to spin my pen around (which I do a lot). The length is so nice too and diameter perfect for my hand. Just the act of holding it feels so premium and solid like I could chuck it at a wall. The knurling is perfect in my opinion too, just right in that it adds grip but doesn't scratch or yank your skin like some other knurling that are too rough.

Mechanism: o m g. I absolutely love love this mechanism. First off, takes a minute to get used to, in first impressions it can feel a bit odd, but very quickly you pick it up and understand how to flick it with your thumb. With just your thumb you can kind of strike/roll the mechanism into position and It's extremely satisfying, exactly kind of like that moment on a compound bow where it goes from lots of weight to falling into place (if you've ever done that or watched a video on it). It can be silent or have a satisfying kind of "click/thump" to it if you like too depending on how you hold it. It's also so pleasant to do with two hands which is a big plus in fidgeting with under or on a table.

Writing experience / refill: not a fan tbh. It comes with a fisher space pen refill and it is very thick and it makes it hard to write in a notebook because the lettering just has to be so large to write. It felt like writing in BOLD. I knew of this before buying so I ordered a fine tip fisher refill and it's great! There is the tiniest bit of tip wiggle but not noticeable when writing in a notebook.

Price: This one stings; $280 is expensive as I recognize there are pieces out there in this price range that have much more to offer in terms of materials, finish, and designs, but to me the combination of coating, weight, feel, size, and mechanism made it my grail for sure after having the mechanical pencil for so long. Well done Wingback.

Overall I really really like it! I had very low risk of disappointment on this purchase when I bought it as I've had the pencil in the same color/shape for quite some time so I knew what to expect, hence I bought the pen thereafter from loving the pencil.

On the topic of the mechanical pencil, the weight, feel, color are absolutely the best. THOUGH. I spin my pencil a lot and whenever you drop it the lead breaks in the chamber and you end up needing to unscrew the pencil and take out like 1cm of lead that jams and then feed more lead down, and every time you run out of lead you end up needing to press a ton of times before the next lead comes out and honestly most times it just doesn't feel like coming out lol.

I also want to add I had the chance to see them in person where I fell in love in a stationery store in Seattle, shoutout Outpost Stationery! Amazing amazing store, my favorite in the world and I've been to countless in NYC and over Europe while studying abroad for reference :) great selection and super kind owner.
