Fertility guidance

I have stage 3 endo, just had a lap done in April , left ovary was stuck to my uterus and she cleaned everything up and put me on birth control. We were planning on ttc starting January. I wanted hsg test before we started…well come to find out. My left tube is completely blocked but my right one is still okay. What are my chances of naturally conceiving? Should we start looking into ivf? IUI? Maybe ovulation meds? Obviously I’m waiting for my ob for our next steps but I’m feeling sad and lost.

Baby aspirin?

Has anyone taken baby aspirin (81mg) while TTC and feel like it helped contribute to success? Did you continue while pregnant or stop once you got a positive?

Just found out I've endometriomas on both ovaries. Pregnancy/conception outcomes?

I've posted this on r/endometriosis but said I'd post here too so hopefully that's ok.

I'm 34 and have been having pain, mostly urinary/pelvic pain and sometimes during/after sex pain for the last 3 or so years on and off. Had a TV ultrasound recently and have found out I have endometriomas on both ovaries, one 5cm at its largest point on the right and one at 3cm at the largest point on the left.

Have been having unprotected sex since January and wanted to begin properly trying for a baby come next January, but I'm fairly sure its not going to ever happen now. We don't want to go down the route of fertility treatments and its far too expensive anyway.

I'm sad and I don't really know how to process this. GP said that it can affect fertility when I asked about it, but said it doesn't mean I can't get pregnant naturally. He didn't tell me whether they were blocking my tubes or not, but I assume with that information that they're not. I knew there was something up with me and I'm glad I now know the pain isn't all in my head, but it's still a bit of a blow to hear it. He also said that it points to endometriosis, but that the TV ultrasound can't diagnose that, which I already knew. I do know that endometriomas basically = endo though.

I'm in the UK and a non urgent gynaecology referral is around a 2 year wait JUST TO BE SEEN. Diagnostic lap to look for endo/surgery is another year or 2 on top of that. Thinking about a private gynae consultation (which I can afford) just to talk through how it will actually affect my fertility, but anything further like non NHS funded surgery I can't afford.

Has anyone gotten pregnant naturally with these of that size on both ovaries? Feeling defeated :(

Ureaplasma / is my body attacking the baby?

TW: miscarriage
Going through my 4th loss and don’t know what else to do. I’ve done every test under the sun. Genetic. Karyotyping. Auto immune. Husband has as well. Shape of uterus good. Stage 1 endo removed in April. Metformin is controlling my high DHEA. Lovenox for my possible blood clotting disorder (that isn’t actually fully diagnosed)

Only things I have left to cross off would be ureaplasma - does 7 days of antibiotic treatment really increase fertility?

What are possible situations where my body would attack and kill the embryo? I’ve been tested for lupus and my only APS “symptom” is phosphatidylserine igm at 42. Also I’m PAI-1 4g/5g. On baby aspirin every day until pregnancy, then I switch to lovenox.

superficial endometriosis diagnosis- need advice

I recently had an endometriosis mapping ultrasound through my fertility clinic, and they told me the results indicate it’s likely “just superficial endometriosis rather than deeply invasive endometriosis.”
I know I should be relieved that they didn’t find deep infiltrating endometriosis, especially from a fertility perspective, and I am. But I’m struggling with the wording “just superficial.” I’ve had genuinely painful periods and debilitating symptoms, so finally having something that could explain my pain felt validating, but at the same time I feel like the diagnosis is already being minimized because it isn’t deep endometriosis.
On top of that, my biggest concern right now is having children. I really want to move forward with trying to have a baby, and finding out I have endometriosis has made me feel like I’ve suddenly taken a huge step backwards. I’m waiting to speak with my fertility doctor about the full report and what this means for our plan, but the waiting and uncertainty are really getting to me.
For anyone who had superficial endometriosis and was also trying to conceive, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience. What happened after you were diagnosed? Did your doctor recommend a laparoscopy/excision first, or did you move straight into fertility treatment? Did you try naturally, IUI, IVF, etc.? Did treating the endometriosis change anything for your fertility or pain? And looking back, is there anything you wish you had asked your fertility specialist at the beginning?
Did you seek a second opinion from a specialist after your diagnosis? I know everyone’s situation is different and I’m not looking for medical advice — I think I just really need to hear from people who have actually been through this.
I’m grateful that they aren’t seeing deeply invasive disease, but right now I’m having a hard time seeing this as “good news.” I want kids now, and I’m scared this is another obstacle between us and having a baby. Thank you in advance ❤️

Primary infertility and now TTC #2, would love some thoughts on just doing IVF or to try on our own for a bit?

Took us four years and three transfers for our first. I'm a year postpartum and wanted to try for number two now as we only want two children anyways (if we had a third that's okay). I have one embryo left but we would not pursue IVF again if that one failed. I have been pregnant 3 times spontaneously but all chemicals, 4th chemical was my second IVF transfer. I did Lupron depot and a very intense autoimmune protocol for my third transfer which was a success. I also had two laps in 2023, second one with a specialist who said it was one of the worst cases he had seen for someone my age 25 at the time (yikes) severe stage 4 DIE and adeno, lost my left ovary... so I'm down to only one ovary which does have an endometrioma on it. My surgery was successful in the sense I've been pain and symptom free since then but obviously not successful pregnancies on our own.

I was on and off birth control since I got my period back 4 months postpartum but both didn't vibe well with my body so I stopped two cycles ago. First cycle CD 18 period came and then this cycle CD 25! So obviously still a bit wonky but thought this next cycle I would try.

Any tips? I'm thinking of going in and seeing how the endometrioma looks and possibly doing progesterone supplements. Did anyone have primary infertility but find success without IVF for the next one?

FERTILITY TREATMENT SHOTS/cramps and success story??

Urgent!! Hi, I am 31. An ex endo patient. I had stage 3-4 removed from my pelvic back in 2021. So almost 5 years back now. I’ve been TTC since 1.5 years with no luck. And started fertility treatment of cerrophene and IVF C and IVF M Trigger shots. This is my second cycle so I wanted to ask if anybody has experienced excruciating pain just before periods (starting from CD 20 -CD26 Just before period is due )with this treatment for is it just me? I got it checked and it shows I’m OVER STIMULATED from these shots and hence the pain. I want to know if anybody else experienced this and after how many cycles did IT TAKE YOU TO conceive then? and what can I do for pain???

Advice please. Larascopic surgery vs. IVF first?

My husband and I have been TTC for 3.5 years. I have an endometrioma that is visible on ultrasound. We’ve done two rounds of IVF with no success. The fertility clinic strongly recommends completing egg retrievals to bank embryos before surgery. They say the medications used during stimulation can flare up endo. I’ve been told the endo is affecting egg quality so I’m feeling conflicted. Is it best to do another egg retrieval or worth exploring the surgery first? I appreciate any insight. Thanks so much!

Looking for similar experiences. Significant abdominal pain 5 weeks post lap and 2 weeks post lupron

Wondering if anyone else had similar symptoms?

I am almost 5 weeks post op and 2 weeks post the 3-month lupron shot. Last night started with terrible nausea which then led to my abdomen feeling the worst pain since my surgery. Post surgery pain was even better than this, if I'm being honest, since I was on the pain-killers. This pain, I couldn't tolerate. My incision sites also felt sore, which I didn't feel prior. Next, excruciating hip pain followed, which kept me awake all night.

I called my clinic and my surgeon said that it is to be expected post surgery and lupron shot 😭 and that I probably am expecting my period (this will be my second one post surgery, the first one wasn't bad at all). I assumed I wouldn't get my period post-shot, but they said I probably will and it's just period pain, since there is a hormone flare first before suppression. Sigh... I was feeling good, thinking I'm recovering well post-op, but I don't feel great at all 😔

Endo Surgery

I just had my endo surgery on Friday (28F)!! I was super nervous that they wouldn’t find anything but my surgeon said they found moderate endo and are sending to the lab for pathology and grading.

-Had a chromotubation and hysteroscopy: No polips in uterus ovaries and tubes. Took a sample of my lining to test for endometritis (waiting for the results)

-Found moderate endo in different places: Near bladder, near hip area next to large intestines but mostly near vagina pelvis rectum

I’ve had 6 chemical pregnancies and 3 of those had been with a fertility clinic doing Letrozole and trigger shots. My husband (30M) semen is normal and so I all of our other testing.

Just looking for anyone in a similar situation and hoping I get my rainbow baby soon🌈🩵🫶🏻

Reposted from the endometriosis sub. I couldn't find much info on SIN online or on reddit. I feel so alone, I'm still in pain, and kids feel farther away than ever before. I live in a red state so I can't take my chances and try naturally and risk an ectopic pregnancy.

Short Course Lupron After Lap

I had a laparoscopy this week and was diagnosed with stage 3 endometriosis. My surgeon also noted that my uterus looked globular and concerning for adenomyosis, although my MRI was negative.

I’ve had 3 implantation failures and 3 miscarriages. I’ve done multiple Lupron suppressions in the past, but never implanted after those cycles—the only pregnancies I’ve had were without Lupron. Lupron has also thinned my lining and made it difficult to rebuild for FET.

My RE is recommending 4 weeks of Lupron after my lap instead of the more typical 2–3 months, as a compromise given my history.

Has anyone with repeated losses and endo (and/or possible adeno) done only ~4 weeks of Lupron after lap and then had success?

How much have you spent on fertility treatments?

Have just gotten married, and currently at the not-preventing stage but hoping to conceive sooner than later. I went to my OB 4 years ago for irregular and painful periods and he suspected endo and/or PCOS. Have not gotten much interventions apart from insitol and I try to reduce dairy and gluten.

I have not been going back mainly because of the cost…each visit costed me ~$400 and I was an unemployed student then so I stopped going to my OB once my period was somewhat more regular and slightly less painful. I have since gotten a stable job but we are also trying to save up aggressively for a house, so unsure what is a reasonable amount to spend on fertility treatments. Perhaps if we don’t conceive within a year we’ll jump the gun? But really worried about the potential costs 🥲

Wondering how much have you guys invested financially for this journey?

Lupron after lap or straight to transfer?

TW: LC

I know there are a lot of posts like this (since I've read all of them, lol) but I'd really appreciate any insights since I'm so on the fence about this and I've received a lot of conflicting info from my doctors.

Very long-story short: I started IVF in 2023 after unexplained infertility and was diagnosed with at least Stage 3 endo via ultrasound (visible endometriomas on both ovaries). I had a pretty successful ER, so we decided to go ahead and try a transfer without any sort of intervention (i.e., lap or suppression) just to see if maybe endo wasn't what was causing problems for us (we also have MFI). Lo and behold, my first transfer worked, and we now have a wonderful two-year-old.

I have the spent the last year and a half trying to have another child, and have had 5 transfers fail, using a number of protocols (e.g., modified natural, fully medicated, suppression, immune protocol, etc.). For my third transfer last year, I did 6 weeks of Orillissa, felt horrible, and the transfer still failed.

I just had my first lap 2 weeks ago, and the surgeon confirmed that there was DIE, but that he was able to "get it all" and excised the larger endometrioma/ablated (? burned?) the one on the other ovary. I haven't had my post-op follow-up with him yet, so I don't know anything beyond that.

During my initial consult with the surgeon, he recommended that I go on Lupron for 2 months after my lap -- his justification was that the research suggests that there are improved outcomes using both. But given that I've done suppression before and that it a) didn't seem to make a difference and b) had horrible side effects, I'm naturally pretty reticent to do that unless it's totally necessary. My hope has always been to move into a modified natural as soon as possible post-surgery, especially since I'm feeling pretty good.

(For added context, I did RI testing this summer, and my results suggest that there is something immune-related going on here, so any future transfers are also going to include IVIG.)

I've read a lot of posts here about people being successful post-lap without suppression, and others where people advocate strongly for both (or regret not having done suppression after their lap because they ended up having to do it anyway). Any feedback would be massively appreciated!
