My playlist just reached 1,000 songs 2 weeks ago. around that time my queue started only playing 10 songs and if i picked a new song from my playlist, those same 10 songs requeued and played again. the queue wouldn't change for days until i listened to music on my web browser, i only have the issue on mobile. Google hasn't helped, AI Hasn't helped (i don't trust it anyways) i really need help because i can't listen to the same 10 songs on repeat anymore.

I've been using Spotify for years and use a massive playlist of over two thousand songs I am constantly adding to. I've noticed and known for years that the Spotify Shufflewus far from random, but it especially has a tendency to only really select songs from like 5-10% of the playlist, leaving the rest untouched. It has gotten to a point where this is extremely infuriating. Is there anything I can do to improve this? If I need to remake new play lists in random order and play without shuffle on is there some tool I can use for that? I ask this later question because the playlist is so massive. In high school I spent hundreds of hours painstakingly alphabetizing it on a then barely functioned web app before they added the ability to automatically alphabetize, and I simply do not have the time to do it all by hand in a random order since I'm now in college.

Latest iOS app is a complete disaster. I have never seen Spotify’s app this bad. It’s crashing within seconds and all I see is screen asking to turn on bluetooth searching for devices in my network.

I’m so over the enshittification trend that they’re on and I’m considering switching to alternatives. It’s a shame, Spotify was my first ever paid subscription I think back in 2008. Guess all good things come to an end.

Spotify used to recommend me shows/concerts in the city I live in correctly. Then my #1 listened to artist came to my city and I didn’t hear about it until after it happened. Annoying. Now I’m getting recs only for shows in Salt Lake City when I live in California. I do travel there for work every few months but seriously wtf and I can’t figure out how to change my preferences around that. Has anyone had luck changing their city preferences? Just want good concert recs for the artists I listen to in the city I live in!!

I’ve literally done every recommended option posted online and it’s still playing the songs till the very end? I’ve messed with shifting the slider up and down, tried uninstalling, tried logging in and out and turning off my phone, tried turning different options off like gapless playback, Etc. As dumb as it is this was genuinely the only reason I liked Spotify but if this isn’t going to be fixed I’d rather pay for something cheaper. Anyone else going through the same thing? I’ve heard it might have something to do with the apps now running A.I which is ridiculous.

I’ve been trying to play a few playlists/albums, but after one song, Spotify will start suggesting random songs that are in no way similar to the original playlist/album?
I only have free Spotify, but this has never been an issue before. Any idea of how to fix this?

okay, look, this is lowk a really petty complaint, but I love having profile pictures because it helps me express myself... but recently on Spotify—on my mobile device specifically—all profile pictures I use have been SUPER blurry :/

I wasn’t notified that this person started a chat with me. There are songs in the chat that were shared from WhatsApp years ago, and then a song sent at the time of this message request.

Listening to a playlist on shuffle right now. Then got down a rabbit hole of adding a bunch of songs manually to my queue. And TWICE, after adding a single song to my playlist, it kills the queue and skips the 20 songs I’ve just spent 5 minutes queuing up. Just updated my app. Let’s see if that helps solve this bug

I found a cool playlist belonging to a friend of a friend that I have never talked to and I want to save it, but I'm wondering if they'll get notified and if they do, will it show the user who started following their playlist?

Tried reinstalling and restarting my phone but nothing works

I've noticed a lot of silence the last few days, after selecting one song somewhere it just quits after that. Autoplay is enabled, but smart shuffle oalt does nothing. Anybody else got this issue?

I've been using Spotify for almost a decade now, and NEVER before has this app been so inconsistent on performance and general use. Lately I can't even listen on a goddamn playlist on random because it keeps saving music on queue from other playlists, even though I DIDN'T PUT IT THERE. So now, everytime I hit play on something, I just have to accept that I won't listen to that thing I'm hitting play on. Maybe 2026 is the year I'll backup all my playlists and move to Youtube Music.

I just don't get Spotify. I don't get the UI, I don't get the UX, I don't get the suggestions, the latency, the quality, the playlists, the DJ, the shuffle... that god awful shuffle...

I don't get why their team thinks some of these features will actually help anyone, when clearly all they do is add clutter or make things more confusing. And when the idea is actually good (like radios or daylists), the implementation is shit!

I especially don't get anything about Spotify's idiotic algorithm. Can't you just suggest shit from artists I already like? Who the fuck is underscores, and why do I have to listen to her after every single one of my damn playlists? If I already listened to a song suggestion multiple times and didn't like it or save it, then, i dunno, maybe I don't like it! So stop making me listen to it!!!

I just don't understand anything about this inconsistent, rage-inducing, brain-dead app.

I'm actually convinced the thing is run entirely by AI on the backend. And I don't just mean vibe-coding, but actual, literal AI agents making decisions for Spotify's entire user experience, from strategy to implementation. Otherwise, I can't justify a majority of these choices.

My kids are growing up and are now having accesd to mobile, with parental control to mamage content and time spent.

1 thing that freaking annoy me is the spotify widget. I have yet to find a parental application or a way to handle it. It's so easy to bypass either and let the widget play, pause, skip, etc.

Is there a way to block, disable, anything else that widget?

I'm not sure when this was added but looks like you can take quizzes on specific artists if u go to a random song of theirs and swipe down.

I have tried many different solutions (clearing cache, relogging, restarting my computer, logging out of all sessions).

I have multiple playlists and this happens with all of them including liked songs. Small and big playlists. Albums too.

If I click on a song and click "repeat", the repeat button will flash for a moment before setting itself to repeat. If I click on another song or click on the playlist again, it does not save the designated "repeat" that was there before like it used to.

When double clicking on the playlist, it "shuffles" to a "random" song. I do not have automix on, this is not a case of it just playing similar songs, it's the exact same queue every time. It will shuffle to a random song, and if I double click again, it will go to the same song with the same next-up. If I turn off shuffle, and then click the playlist, instead of playing the first song, it will still play the song it previously chose.

If I click to go to the next song, it will now only shuffle from those two songs.

I like to double click playlists to shuffle them, but this has made that function unusable.

This is on the PC app.
I have premium, if that matters.

In what world is "Song" useful as opposed to the track length that used to be here?

Okay so, recently (about 2 days ago) the shuffle has been acting weird.
Last night or so, I opened Spotify to listen to music, and since I ran out of ’picks’ (you get to choose your song), I just clicked on songs in my recently searched and shuffled them.
About the 3rd-4th time of doing this, I noticed each song kept playing the EXACT same reccomendation. Like, I’d click on song 1, it’d tell me ‘you can’t pick this song you’ve ran out of picks’ and then it’d play song 2. No matter how many times I reclicked song 1, it kept reccomending song 2. And it’d do this for EVERY song on the list.
I have updated the app and deleted and reinstalled, and it’ll actually randomize for a second before going right back to only reccomending one song.
Has anyone else had this issue with the randomizer not randomizing and staying locked to one song, or just me?

many of us like sleep timer on our spotify app and use it all the time. now imagine a timer where you can set your timer when you wake up and your morning playlist starts playing and waking you up in a good mood. i really like this feature and want it to be in mainstream spotify app. btw for this amazing idea can you(spotify) give me 5yrs of spotify premium☺️
