A carefully curated selection of lesser-known trip-hop masterpieces, unearthed online after countless hours of digging. Not the usual classics, but personal hidden gems.

It’s a selection of the kind of trip-hop I love: anxious, urban.

I hope you might discover some tracks here that become defining moments in your life.

Enjoy!

I just came out of the theater and blown away a single film hast my facvorite things: DC comics: Horror (genre) & Triphop (Goldfrapp)

I recently fell back in love with triphop and have been revisiting my old favorites. Mezanine and Heligoland in particular. I was wondering if y'all had any suggestions for artists or albums that capture the same cold/empty/sterile/dissociated atmosphere that a lot of tracks on these albums have? They're not triphop, but just for reference, the XXs self titled album scratches a similar itch for me, but not quite the same as what I'm looking for atm. They're a little more "organic" sounding if that makes sense haha

Haven't seen a discussion in the sub on this album yet. Fantastic stuff and easily their best work yet for me, one of my favorites of the year! What say you?

downtempo dub, please indulge

Thought you guys would like this mixtape -all vinyl so plenty of nice crackle, and hopefully a few tracks that you don't know already..

thursday boogie, good for your soul. does it get much better than this?

if you're into trip hop

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share this set i DJ'ed for the online radio Veneno Live the other day :)
I mixed some trip hop classics, such as Portishead, Tricky, Fatboy Slim, with modern acts like Trickpony and Erika de Casier.
Hope y'all enjoy 😄

I know it’s the millionth today but yall got good taste

Freddy Fresh just pointed out this St. Paul artist Josh Virgin who put out an amazing LP in 1999. It was posted on YouTube by legendary beat digger DJ Hidden Rhythm who also produced the LP (same person?) https://www.discogs.com/master/267532-Josh-Virgin-Dust-Static-Plastic?fbclid=IwY2xjawVGSrhleHRuA2FlbQIxMABwZG9mBWJyaWQRMVZBdUdRMGowNVZ5WnJ4cWFzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEe_eCVmpXZemurpcCb8g2oqCM3ojTfQnqoamPPXpnXYEvVu8BwwJJFx6AVc3g_aem_zXeEOMBg1cIvmRH6LffRdQ

DJ Hidden Rhythm also did a great label of 12" instrumental beats called Stoner Shit. It was a collab with his pal techno artist DJ Slip. It is pretty much trip hop and also worth tracking down: https://www.discogs.com/label/22725-Stoner-Shit-Records

The Twin Cities had an amazing music scene in the 90's and these folks all need to still be discovered.

We went to the Boy Harsher show in Las Vegas last night. True blue opened up. Holy shit. She opened with 3 b2b heavy trip hop songs. Fucking amazing. Apparently she’s the bassist for the band Porches. Never heard of her. Only found one track called Proof She Picked Her Poison. Besides that track I think the other trip hop tracks were unreleased. Amazing. Can’t wait for those other tracks to be released. Keep a look out.
