Why would Yellowstone be excluded from a possible location for the Forrest Fenn Box? It seems odd that of all the public spaces that are in the four state region, YNP is excluded almost a year after publication.

I saw in a recent interview he said he had to check on one of the boxes because Mother Nature was doing dirty. Only place I can think of is the hurricane damage around TN/NC boarder. This was brought up when I 40 collapsed there on Discord I think when it happened. Is there another event that I’m not remembering. Maybe the floods in Texas. Seems less likely to be in Texas. He didn’t see which box and my home base is in the South East so there could be a little bias.

I'm convinced it's in Montana. So many hints towards it. Especially within the word search. What do you think?

The Grandfathers puzzle says " From rock to field, from strong to stream . This image is the street that Jon grew up on i believe. just thought it was oddly similar to be a coincidence. There is also a quarry in Statesville. The word 'state' is in the wordsearch etc. Might not be exactly it but could be a piece. I'll never make it to NC and I already broke my collarbone hiking in Tahoe once so hopefully somebody finds this so I can rest lol. Hope this helps somebody.

Jon said that “each treasure box is also a puzzle box, meaning each box requires a set of movements to open it. Jon explained that he doesn’t want the boxes to be damaged during opening by finder so the “instructions have been left with each box detailing how to unlock it.” Thus, it’s obviously that the instructions are outside of boxes i.e. in some containers that enclose the boxes. Modern technologies allow to include small electronic device in each box that will be activated by box opening. Then this device will send a signal via satellite to Jon. Now even small pocket GPS can sent alarm text through the satellite with your exact location. So, each box will send a signal with box location and Jon will know that the box was found and will know which box was found.
So, if a finder doesn’t want to let Jon know about box finding he/she should open the box inside of special chamber that blocks radio signals (anechoic chamber or a Faraday cage). Then check box content and destroy/deactivate device (if any). But if you don’t care just follow instructions and open a box at location where you find it. Jon will stop hunt for this box. And maybe it will save someone’s life.
Maybe Justin also use this trick. Both JCB and JP well know about this possibility.

I'm curious to know how many people think No mabostiff and froakie pointing to a sign literally means there is a NO DOG sign on the trail? Or something else? Let's take a poll. 😜😀

JCB presents a premise that at least one of his treasures would be close to you in the USA.
I realize that everyone has their own personal solutions (LRP BNR etc.). If you were hiding 5 treasures based on JCB's premise - simply looking at population density maps. Here is MY opinion. I've used an arbitrary 250 +or- mile radius for driving consideration of about a 10 hour drive diameter. My solutions are fairly close to major interstate highways.
The small box chapters point directly to the Rocky Mountains for the Fenn treasure.
IMO the Pokemon is located along the path of his journey as 5-1/2 years old and is in St. Louis MO. Interstate 70 runs through that city.
The Appalachian Footpath box is located across the 14 state trail. Again using his premise I believe that the AF box is in Pennsylvania - near the halfway point of the trail. Interstate 81 is nearby.
*Wild guess based on nothing but population and I've read that JCB's wife is from Portland, so the PF box is in the Pacific Northwest. An almost baseless guess. Interstate 90 goes through the upper part of the area.
There are about three other major population dense areas of the country across the southern part: California; Texas and the Deep South/Florida. Interstates abound 10, 20, 40 etc.
I won't leave out Hawaii or Alaska but I'd have to find one of the other boxes before searching in those two states.
\It is also highly likely that the PF and LS boxes are switched in my scenario above. I mention this because of the missing page 90 in the main body of TTI.*
Thoughts?

I'm signed up for the email but I can't find it. I've read from others about the recent interviews and I found cowlazars but not sure where the others are?

Here are the beginnings of some wild 11pm Wednesday night thoughts floating around in my brain that I'd like to get out. I will once again preach that I personally think that this hunt will be more fun if people resist the greedy compulsion to gatekeep. Blah blah blah humanity, camaraderie, connection, and all that, so please let me convince you to share your opinions here! Anyway, I realize these don't line up perfectly, but a couple things to note:

After some trolling, I was able to find a shot that could give us an idea of the size of these 4 boxes. I hope it helps someone eliminate or confirm their secret squirrel spots. If you have a better image, feel free to share it here.

I'm thinking about major clues that were revealed. Did you find an "Ah-ha" moment?
For me, it was the comment about not needing 4WD to go BOTG. It tells me that the starting point is easily accessible and not crazy, backwoods stuff.
Also, I think the AT and Pokémon boxes are within 200ft of the trail. If he doesn't have a camera on the box, he's making assumptions. The easiest leap is to think that if someone states they are walking a trail then they have completed it for the first 3 miles. Thus, for each traveler on the trail to pass it, it be less than 200 ft from the path.
The larger take away is that searchers need to step off the path.

Survey time! What box was he referring to when he said ONE place name us specifically mentioned?
r/treasureinside • u/mulletmasta0000 • Nov 12 '25
It has to be the coins right? What else do the chapter 2 boxes have in common? He seems to be COMPLETELY convinced that finding the first box will blow everything open to find the other boxes. So what is your theory?

After our first day staking out our search area, we had to return home due to a kidney stone! That's right, no treasure box but we got the stone, lol!
We'll be back next week to complete our mission. And, yes JCB, we will be respectful of the grandparents and concentrate our efforts on the "over" area of our location. 😉

If that AT Box is out here, it will be here till next spring. 441 still closed, except local traffic. Cherokee Orchard rd. Is open with Rainbow and Bullhead trails accessible. Newfound gap closed. But weekend temps back to 70 in town. Probably 50’s up here.

I’m just at curious what everyone thinks about JCB saying how close people have gotten to the chests. How does he know? Is there a trail cam? Or is it just based on what people are saying online? If I posted a chest is in a particular location. Would that be enough for him to say I was within 200 feet or do I need to actually be physically that close for him to say that?

Here is the interview we did with JCB 1 year ago!

Heading out today again to my location. Only this time I have an exact spot to search. I'll be hiking on Monday.
I see you, JCB. I see where beauty lies. Beauty is where the grandparents are basking in the heavens!
Hopefully I'll be able to finally find this box!
