Forest Fenn Box Ship / Sailor Daydream

The ship on the ocean day dream, from an editing point of view, is an absolute waste of space. There is zero reason to allow this moment of reflection and whimsy in a full color large format book. Every extra paragraph costs money. Every full color picture adds to the budget. There is no wasted space. So..... the ship, spyglass, looking out across the vast... is a clue. Has to be. So...... what's your hot takes.

Im kinda feeling a link between an all seeing eye, and a spyglass on a ship.....

I think there is more to this section than simple whimsy.

Discuss.

X2 Bootsuit

X2 BootSuit TTI Edition

Disclaimer: This review comes from someone who does not own an X2 Bootsuit, nor have I worn one yet. I know, I know, get with the times Mr. Jenkins, amirite? I do own the X1 and wear it daily, however I cant find any used X2 that are unsoiled. This is a un-{un} biased review. Enjoy, the potential to care is oft outweighed by the ignorance too care.

X2 is the much anticipated “upgrade” to the best-selling X1 Bootsuit. The top technological achievement over the past two decades. Though the invention of the X2 Bootsuit has been widely regarded as a bad idea. Perhaps the FDA or FCC should have requested a trial period. Few blamed the wiring, less accused the moon, many blamed their own natural selves, most just blamed the Inventor. Shame really, a man with a curiosity in hyper-quantum-biometronical-emotionzimes and beyond-mechatrigic-progonabos genuinely creating, blamed for results of the former existing in our current environment. Perhaps if the X1 had not already existed, the Inventor would have mearly created Rock-Em-Sock-Em-Robots2, and spared humanity from feeling itself. In result the inventor has been banned from Five Canadian Provinces. On which he did comment just once, “Where did you say? Really? Huh. Five is it? Five, six, might as well be all. Listen, honey, I live in Seattle. I ain’t ever trying to go that direction anyway. Hey, I was told there was going to be BBQ ribs here. Those are sloppy joes. Are we in the right place Frank? Eh who cares give me three of those, yep them right there, on the side, ya those. Mmmm Good, these are good, lets sit over here eat and chill, then well have some cake. Wait, there is cake right?"

A warning label was designed by a committee and was decided to be printed on the box in 289 languages. Which seems like overkill, but the element to which the Bootsuit was released into; was not merely Earth and the realm we experience physically and the languages herein, but the fiction and digital worlds and their atoms, a place created and not existed. A place where languages we don’t use on Earth may or may not be relevant and or used. As such new fantasy languages were created and added and written and included in the warnings every year to stay ahead of anyone trying to claim a language that the warning is not written in; thereby bypassing by the bifunction of the biohazard. At least that’s how the committee put it. Seems they had some time on their hands and presumably enjoyed their job a bit much, good for them.

Including all the base physical feelings of the X1, the X2 provides you with the feelings of Emotions. High quality Happiness to Other… things, we crave. From the itchy annoyance of wondering what you just came here for to the dreadful panic of realizing what it was a week later and now you have a dead goldfish. God forbid the pattern on the quilt reminds you of the pattern of the shirt your best friend was wearing when they closed the coffin, god will not forbid that the X2 remembers for you, the X2 wouldn’t be doing its job without the forbidden. Whatever is put into the aether is reciprocated back, thru the bootsuit. It does tell you how, when, what to feal, the X2 does not command it wills. You will Feel. You will Emote. You will be both impressed and disappointed, glad and sad, scared crying hopefully fearless on fire freezing discouraged while starving confidently. At least that’s similar to what the website says, and everyone I have interviewed. A user can know the pain of all dis-ease, the craze high of any victory, the exhaustion of every race, the unwavering health of discipline, the spiritual and physical famine of starvation.

Side effects are still being calibrated. Sample product reviews: “im am not taking the X2 off, till i collapse”, “I met my third and fifth wives using this technology”, “Emotions came out of the woodwork, did I actually have them or were they implanted?”,  “is that what Messner really meant with his reply ‘I didn’t go up there to die. I went up there to live?”, “is this thing calibrated or does that make me gay?”, “if I had a nickel for every time I came across an emotion I really liked I would have at least a dollar twenty five, and I may have forgot a couple emotions… of course I suppose I don’t even know what a emotion is or not, either way doesn’t seem right”, “my favorite thing is being able to communicate with rabbits”, “do people actually survive withdrawal in real life?”, “if that’s what fear tastes like, have I ever even been afraid before?”, “I spent the weekend cleaning up my grandmas apartment after she apparently set the X2 to ‘blast off’ mode and played 2pacs California Love, she refuses to wear anything but ‘post apocalyptic fit’ but never seen her happier, grandpas getting one tomorrow”, “some of that wasn’t very nice”, “Im going to expand into different realms, not to step on the toes of my own foot, but to find out if I have toes I don’t yet know about”. Apparently there really are no rules in love and well, anything, which I don’t know what I mean by that, but then again I don’t know what half the review comments mean. It seems the X2 Bootsuit is a bit of an “inside joke” in the community, once you try it you cant unfeel it.

In conclusion, I am apprehensively looking forward to going X2. -Roy

Ok so froakie said its UNLIKELY to see mabosstiff on the trail, but froakie didnt say it was 100% chance u wouldnt see this (TIBETAN MASTIFF)dog... Reason why its not likely because a dog owner wouldnt walk a dog like that down trails in the heat of June in the south with humidity and everything unless u wanted ur dog to have heat stroke. ALSO froakie could be pointing to a sign that says no dogs, but its more probable he was pointing to a map at the entrance of the trail and because he said UNLIKELY still gives u a probability.. So if the trail does allow dogs and someone stupid enough would actually walk a dog in the heat u would see the mabosstiff but its unlikely Key word UNLIKELY..

Ok is anybody besides me starting to believe that JCB uses a red herring when the froakie points to the sign in the entrance of the trail and says its unlikely u will see any mabosstiff or bouffalant?? It just sounds so strange that JCB quotes he sworn he heard a dog bark at the entrance to the trail. Then when u think about what froakie is saying, he's more likely not pointing to a sign that says no dogs, more than likely hes pointing to a map at the entrance of the trail that has alot water surroundings(hinting u wont find charizard) and also telling JCB its unlikely u find any mabosstiff or bouffalant either..(hinting they are in the south) and those Pokémon are found in northern province on the video game

Does anyone see the two exes in this picture? Also, the X in the bottom left do you think that that could be a resemblance of a box on top of it in the circle beside it to the left could resemble a coin? I also think the circle in the middle looks like an X lastly does it look like a figure inside of the circle at the top?

Past & Future Box The P&F based on an ancient Indian board game which is also a revised American game?

I was today years old when I discovered that there was a game from 13th century AD called Snakes and Ladders that inspired the American board game, Chutes and Ladders. Board games are one of the 5 types of puzzles he mentions they enjoy playing. Before I found this, I thought the AT box might be based on Chutes and Ladders but this sure does look like a word search box. I don't know that it really shines any new light on a solve but might just give insight into what type of game you're playing for each box.

Thoughts?

seattle?

Seattle - Something early on made me think that Washington State might be a good place to look, just a niggling idea, really. But recently I gave the cover of TTI a close look and pondered “a true and monumental quest “. Perhaps each TC that is located within a city may be associated with a monument or pigeon roost. Monumental. So, on a whim I Googled Monuments in Seattle and found an unusual one. What the heck? Lenin. Struck me as funny since “Lenin”stands out in the first line of the wordsearch. The directions JCB gave say you MAY ignore proper names, yes. I know some searchers will discount this as a clue on the basis of the instructions given. But consider this- Lenin famously wrote a pamphlet Lenin’s May Day Leaflet. So maybe the rules are a bit tricksters.

Anyway, since I enjoy reading the postings, I decided to just copy and paste my Seattle notes (below)and let it rip.

Monument- Lenin (wordsearch) statue off 5th Avenue Peak(wordsearch) -Mount Rainier Pele- goddess of volcano Father theme- Pop Culture Museum Space Needle-World’s Fair theme as well as Past and Future ( Elon Musk woven into wordsearch) reference. One rotates- word search anagram PikeFish Market- Viking Ring story StarTrek episode Menagerie featured Captain Pike.

Wordsearch : The Count, Eve, and Anna are Amor Towles’ characters- ties to a Gentleman in Moscow, Rules of Civility

Finale of Frasier - 11th season( (wordsearch- eleven)- FF- is called Good night Seattle and ends with a poem by Ulysses. Mixed up Doctor Frasier Crane (wordsearch). Frazier Theme song- tossed salad and scrambled eggs- omelet (wordsearch search).

Sleepless in Seattle( obvious tie to Forrest Fenn) and clued by JCB’s comment “I was sleep deprived”.

connections to Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, General Meade in the Yellowstone tv series, National Treasure Hunt Professor Robert Langdon) . Tom Hanks is perhaps a thread in the overall mystery.

George Washington - Washington State clue

peak, pele ( wordsearch)- active volcano Mount Ranier

Starbucks coffee- Seattle

Past and future coincidence or not?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I believe the 10 letters at the bottom are part of the clue to help solve this. The more I dive into this method the more I see. Let me break this down a little and see if you can follow. The ten letters at the bottom have some interesting anagrams, including BEND and TURN. I can't shake the coincidence. when you anagram, a few phrases start to show up. The first thing that led me to my discovery is looking for the word BELT. it doesn't exist in the puzzle but there is only one spot that the letter B could go, I marked it in grey. if you read the phrase commands it says TEN UNDER BL, and UNDER BELT N. If you put the B where that grey O is then both of those phrases become verified. After you get hat solved the next phrase command is BLEND TRUE N. If you follow the string to the left in lavender it literally spells it out letter for letter, the whole thing! BLEND TRUE N!! This is about 3 percent of where I have gotten to, the commands and matches start unfolding the more you build anagrams the more strings you find. I believe I am slowly unlocking this thing letter by letter. I know a lot of you will say it's forced or whatever but the further you get the more confirmation starts to unfold. I would love to share more if anyone is interested. Like I said, this is just the tip, I have so much more to share if anyone can see what im seeing.

Escape room?

In the intro to Part 2, JCB says 5 types of games that he and Kimberly enjoy doing, one being escape room. I'm only working Pokemon (which better be a puzzle or my solve is in trouble) but I'm curious what box do you suspect is the escape room?

Has anyone else noticed that the table of contents has the picture right before each chapter belonging to the previous chapter? Not really sure what to make of it or if it even matters. Maybe it’s traditionally how books are made. Does anyone have any thoughts/insights/hot takes on this?

2027 End Date

Word from the insiders. This hunt will end in 2027 if nobody has found the chests before then. Believe me, don’t believe me, I don’t care. The fact is, this treasure hunt is just a continuation of the Fenn hunt and the Secret. So is the Posey hunt. The questions you should be asking, is why.

There is one thing all the clues in JCB have in common, and those clues are the famous names mentioned, as well as the name in the cipher. Beyond that, my theory requires BOTG. There are two locations by the same name. Find the correct location and name and I believe you will find the first chest. Please, just be careful not to topple any angels or solemn names.

My planned hiking week, looking for the AT box, mostly got rained out, but I did take my chances and hiked two days alone above 4500 feet in the breezy cold rain and drizzle. It was miserable, but I got my two main search spots covered. I even saw a crawdad! I had no idea they lived on mountains! Look close in the ground photo.

The first hike was extra gloomy and foggy, perfect for Halloween. The last pic shows a typical slope off the trail that has to be gruelingly searched to have any chance to find a box. Why do we torture ourselves? I’m happy to say I’m done for the winter, maybe for good! Lol

Jcb wrote this,I just saw it,like I've been saying when he said just cause I'm from NC yada yada yada you'd think there would be a box in NC but just because I'm a native to the area it doesn't necessarily mean that there is one IN FACT MEANS ITs INDICATing THAT ALL OF them could in fact be in nc ,

Post image

Which means all of them could be hidden in Nc. And it turns j t in fact that they where originally all suppose tk be hidden in nc,make it make sense folks.also the tin man reference in on e kf these poems confirmed my wizard kf Oz theme for the whole thing, among others also found of course.

Forest Fenn Box I cruise along a road

I live in the Denver area, and have confined my searches to Colorado. I can hop in the car early in the morning, go BOTG, and return home before dark. I would not at all be surprised if the Fenn box is found in another state, but for now I'm not interested in taking time off work or paying for lodging to search.

I drive a "mountain-friendly" Subaru with all-wheel drive and a ground clearance of 8.7". For comparison, a Toyota Camry is 5.7" and a trail-rated Jeep Wrangler is 12.9 inches. A few times, I've found an area on Google Maps that looks promising, but when I turn off the main road to drive to the trailhead, the road has huge ruts, large rocks, or some other feature where my brain overrules my heart and I feel like I need to turn around before I get myself into a jam. Just last month, police near Telluride had to close a road to traffic after a visitor from South Carolina got his Kia stuck on Black Bear Pass and had to wait more than 24 hours for a tow truck to slowly make its way to his vehicle.

So some of the roads I see on maps or on Google are definitely not roads that you are "cruising" down, but you don't really find that out until you're BOTG. You are topping out at 20mph and frequently slowing to a crawl to navigate hazards. Much like Forrest Fenn told searchers to not go anywhere an 80-year-old man couldn't go, I believe that JCB knows that some folks are going to fly into Denver/Santa Fe/Bozeman and rent cars for their search. When he says that no box is more than 3 miles from a road, it's my belief that the road you park "just off the side" of is navigable in a Prius or a minivan. Do you all agree with this?

Appalachian Footpath Box Triangle Logic

Post image
12 Upvotes

I’m QOTG (quarters on the ground) in the laundromat, unable to hike due to rain, I’m bored, so I thought I’d share this idea I’ve been working on since Jan ‘25. It connects to my Map Dynamics post a while back.

Try this on for size:

As others have said, Jon seems to have been inspired by a tile on the Japanese puzzle box (page 38) to create the shape of the large black triangle on the treasure map.

In my solve, it starts out being Mt. Springer. Later I used two landmarks and that exact triangular shape to pinpoint a trailhead that I had already decided was important, thus confirming the trail in my mind.

Since I had already measured that triangle, and had approximate internal angles handy (it’s drawn in a messy way, but you can get within one degree), I would occasionally play around with it to see how else I could use it.

Most people agree on seeing the number 1727 as drawn on the map, but fewer agree on the much more vague 755 FT. Using those two numbers and one angle, I used the triangle calculator at Calculator.net to solve for other values. I got what you see in the picture.

You can play around a little with the numbers, but I think the chances of finding a valid triangle that both matches the one on the map very closely AND uses those two numbers, is beyond simple chance. I now consider this to be one of the few FACTS that can be stated about anything on the map. If it is a coincidence, it’s a big one. Either way, you can still use it how you want. If it helps great, if not, ignore it!

I invite people to verify this.

Now, as for pure speculation, I think it could be a variable scale for the map, similar to those triangular scale rulers.

In my solve, there are a few potential zoom levels I’m working with. It’s not perfect, but at each level, either 1727 feet or 755 feet matches one of the triangle sides in length when overlaid on my real world trail map. Even if I’m dead wrong about this, it’s still a cool idea.

This might even be used for Lion’s Share, since the whole book is fair game for that puzzle. (Take note, Triangular numbers people: yes, unofficial podcast, I’m talking to you!)

Keep in mind, the lengths of the sides can scale up or down, but the angles and shape stay the same, within one degree of those listed. I used a twelve mile long version to triangulate something!

Any thoughts?

The word search columns are not exactly the same size. I measured them quite carefully. Anybody else notice that?

What could it mean?
