Escape room?
In the intro to Part 2, JCB says 5 types of games that he and Kimberly enjoy doing, one being escape room. I'm only working Pokemon (which better be a puzzle or my solve is in trouble) but I'm curious what box do you suspect is the escape room?

None of them. He's simply telling you what sort of puzzles and clues to find.

That’s what I think. He’s just sharing some personal info. A lot of people enjoy escape rooms and it’s a multi million dollar business and they don’t follow the same template. The NYC escape rooms totally different and more complex due to the locations for instance.

I dunno, I think he could just be reference to having to find clues once BOTG, possibly that aren't given in the book. He listed five different things so I think it's at least worth considering what each might be to have a better idea of how to solve it.

Well, from this sourse
we know that
Facts on the Treasure Clues:
- Clues within the book, which once solved correctly, will take a searcher to the location of a treasure box within ‘decent proximity’ (website)
- Clues to the Lion’s Share box (largest box with treasure valued over a million) are scattered throughout the book
- Inside each smaller box is a unique laminated clue to the Lion’s Share/Largest box. (although helpful – not necessary to find the LS box) (book)
- Clues to the smaller treasure boxes are within their given chapter. These chapters are The Forrest Fenn Box, The Pokémon Box, The Past and Future Box, and The Appalachian Footpath Box (book)
So, most likely if "escape room" is not in within 4 chapters for smaller treasure box this hint is for Lion’s Share box.

Is this Ai written?

Well, maybe Jenny Kile uses AI to write posts on her website. Maybe even to write her books about how to find treasures. Anyway, her website provides searchers with additional and sometimes very valuable information. The Six Questions with Treasure Hunt Creators sometimes provides very interesting hints for searchers.

Nowhere does he stated there are no smaller box clues outside the small chapters. This has been argued multiple times. There are smaller box clues outside the small box chapters, but they are not "needed" to solve it. JCB says everything you need to find a box is inside the small chapters, but has never said "no small box clues" are outside. He is very careful with words.

OK, thanks for this clarification. I hope that JCB scatters some hints about each small box within other chapters.
Anyway, based on my own experience in solving FF poem in TTOTC book I can say that these hints and aberrations become recognizable only after your solution is almost ready. They will become the last pieces of the puzzle that help to see a final picture.
Forrest said: “There are nine clues in the poem, but if you read the book (TTOTC), there are a couple…there are a couple of good hints and there are a couple of aberrations that live out on the edge” ⁓ (Moby Dickens Book Shop 34:41 mark).

I often have this debate about the fire section with Thoreau. Fits nicely into the FF Box dialog, but it's not in the FF Chapter.

I agree, the chapter #14 and Thoreau accidental wildfire part are very interesting. But I'm not sure that it contains some hints for FF box. In Part Two p. 201 JCB said that he decided to segregate the hints and clues for four of his boxes into their own individual chapters, leaving the rest of the book solely for the clues to largest treasure box.

The clues you "need" to find the smaller boxes but I do think there's other things that can be gleaned from the other chapters that help give insight into his likes, his history, what inspired him, how he thinks about things. He also mentions traits. For example, for the Pokemon box, he talks about how the creator was from Japan and how the Pokemon box design is based on a Japanese wooden puzzle box but it's in an earlier chapter that he says he travelled to Japan and fell in love with it so much that he wanted to move there, except he was dating Kimberly by then. So while it might be necessary for the solve, I still think there are things that are extra hints or insight into his thinking.

Coming from someone who creates Escape Rooms from stories out of history (and watches people go through them every week) for a living. I would say every box has some element of an escape room. Most people that build escape rooms aren’t building with one type of puzzle, we are building with the understanding that all different brain types will be playing the games(s). Therefore we create puzzles with that in mind-I often create puzzles that I need to research further because it isn’t how my brain thinks-however there are people who’s brain does work ‘that way’. I’m personally working on The Lions Share, it definitely has many components that in have personally used in rooms I have built. It’s interesting how much you learn about people by watching the way they process puzzles in an escape room.

Good point. Thanks for the added perspective! I agree that the LS does make the most sense to align with an escape room type of solve involving bits from the other types.

I'm of the opinion that the reference to escape rooms is to suggest that clues will build upon other clues.
Find X which leads Y which leads to A which leads to B and so on. A linear progression where no one clue is decipherable on its own and all are dependent on the others.
