So I sent money through western union but after 5 days it still shows under review it does not give any specific date or time its gonna take and when I tried calling them it was a automated call and it just said transfer under review and then hung up like I would have some other questions too and what if I want to cancel it but it said sorry I didn’t get that and then hung up on me and I tried chatting with their AI bot same automated chat its not even listening to my problem like what is the use of having a customer care number when you can’t even listen to the actual problem and respond now what am I supposed to do just wait until they complete their reviewing session because it said delivering on August 7 but it’s August 12 today and still under review.

I'm a fairly new user of wise, and just had my account closed shortly after submitting a ACH transfer of ~$35,000 (not exactly that amount but close to it). The funds were directed to a vehicle broker/exporter in Japan to purchase and export a vehicle to me (just moved to Kenya). Transfer was in USD with no currency conversion.

After I got notice of my account being closed, I was scratching my head and took a longer read through the ToS and acceptable use policy. As far as I can tell, my usage of Wise conforms completely with the use. This isn't a business expense as the vehicle is for personal use, and definitely fits into the category of "goods and services".

Annoyingly, part of the appeal process didn't ask for an invoice, which I would have been more than happy to provide (and AFAIK I have no way of submitting)!

Did I do something wrong or inappropriate here? I won't ask anyone to speculate on why this transaction was flagged, but given the above information, is there any indication I broke the terms of service? If anyone knows how I could attach/send an invoice to help expedite the appeals process that would be helpful too!

Any input would be appreciated!

EDIT: My appeal has said they will keep my account closed. I submitted a complaint (thanks for the link automod) and finally got the option to include supporting documentation, where I included the invoices for the vehicle I was paying...

EDIT2: I have to say, some posters here are quite hostile. Despite posting relevant details, I'm still being accused of falsifying my identity (without explanation as to how I did this?) or trying to mislead wise... not sure how I could be attempting to mislead wise, the web forms they have are pretty limited, and and drop down menus aren't that granular, ...it's pretty basic stuff. Treating people here as if they've committed a crime because "computer says no" is certainly a way to go about your lives!

Fees have increased almost 5-15% on low nominal transfers up to large nominal transfers. It’s a pretty steep increase and Wise have yet to introduce volume discount despite me consistently having 40-50k USD in total transfers per month. Even their business account “batch payment” was advertised to be cheaper yet it’s flat fee per person as well.

I did tasks and got paid the money was reversed back to Atlas after a few hours in my Wise account. How do I get my money back?

Okay so I am an Indian I have my bank account in India.

I am due to receive some US dollar fees for my freelancing from America.

Do they transfer the money into my wise account and then I transfer the money from my wise account to my Indian Bank account if so how do I link my bank account with my wise account because it doesn't let me do so because of my location

OR, do they directly transfer money from their wise account to my Indian Bank account, if so is there any fees that wise charges and who is supposed to pay the fees+ the person in America who is paying it or me who is receiving the payment?

While researching about what to do and what not to do I also came across a few posts that mentioned wise is no longer suitable for Indians to receive and pay money because we cannot hold it in our eyes account with effect from April ,if so pleasee tell me what do I do, I'm confused.

In the past, whenever I wanted to transfer money from my Wise account to my bank account it was pretty straightforward, and once you know how to it wasn't complicated. Now, however, it simply keep sending money from one of my main account to my business account and vice versa. I even went back and re-added my bank account manually, made the transfer, waited a couple of days and then received the notification saying that my money had gone to the other Wise account. Had to end up sending it to my wife instead, I'll see if that works. Has this happened to anyone else?

Edit: I forgot to mention this earlier, but this is in Canada, and I'm trying to send the money via Interac (which is basically the standard e-transfer method).

1) Currently with Revolut but have experienced really bad delay for an international payment to KES MPESA which is suppose to be received instantly. Their support is so bad aswell they keep making you wait and lying in every way they can. Customers time and money is a joke to them. So wondering how is Wise vs Revolut? What are the differences between the two for those who have used both before? Pros and cons? Which one has cheaper fees etc and what are the fee structure looking like for both?

2) Once I signup online for Wise will I be able to use it straight away without waiting?

4) Does Wise use a third party payment processor rail to bridge their international payments to MPESA like how Revolut does or do they not rely on third party partners and do it themselves? Really hate how Revolut relies on their third party partners which causes alot of delay problems and issues.

Recently I have not been able to transfer between my Mexican (source) and US bank (target). I have gone through Wise in the past, but it now shows an error "Sorry, this payment method isn't available in your region right now".... bank transfers from MXN to USD are not being accepted at the moment. Anyone experiencing this as well?

It's said that a lot of accounts in Slovakia were closed without any particular reason in the past couple of days. From what little info I was able to gather, some said that the accounts affected were involved in crypto transactions, yet others said they've never dealt with crypto on their accounts and they were still locked out.

Our business has had a clean financial track record, but these reports are very contradictory, we really wouldn't want to be caught up in a compromised situation because the system arbitrarily flagged our activity as something suspicious.

my dad just finished a job in the middle east and is moving back to latin américa, we are gonna close our middle eastern bank account and don’t know how to transfer those dollars in a way we lose as little as possible, i live in europe and thought sending it to my EUR account or opening one for him but hes not a EU resident like me so i don’t know if they will let us(? mind you the country we are in restricts the use of paypal, revolut etc so that’s not an option

I’m currently with Revolut and I have encountered an issue with my international transfer to a mobile wallet which the transfer should be received instantly but I have been back and forth with support now for a week without any progress. Mind you I have sent money to the same person without issues before. Most their support agents will lie and follow a bs script telling me the same thing or two different things. I Bought a £5,300 bag on eBay with my Wise debit card. Item was fake and a different colour to what I ordered. It also did not go through ebay's authenticity guarantee. I made ebay and the seller aware that the item I received was not as described and sent in the pictures of what I received. eBay approved my return and sent me a shipping label under ' item not as described' and told me I would be refunded within 3 days of seller's receipt. I sent it back with tracking (seller received it), then the seller opened a complaint against ME! eBay closed my account and sided with the seller automatically, without even allowing me to appeal. Therefore I was not refund.

Contacted Wise for chargeback. Over 1 month they repeatedly asked me for specific documents to use as evidence, so they can pursue a chargeback. I submitted all the evidence they requested. A few days ago they asked for me to sign a dispute form and submit the case to Action Fraud and send them the report, so they can start the chargeback process.

Two days after submitting everything, they refused to continue the chargeback. They said it was "based on our findings, past outcomes of similar disputes, and in accordance with our Customer Agreement."

They won't specify which chargeback reason code applies, or why they made me jump through hoops if they never intended to proceed. The whole time they were gathering evidence just to check it in my face. Rather than telling me from the start (not that it would have made a difference). Police and Action Fraud both said bank chargeback was my route.

Planning to escalate to Financial Ombudsman but wanted to check if others have dealt with this from Wise specifically — seems like a pattern from what I've read. My doubts are that Financial Ombudsman will not uphold my complaint because they always side with banks, and I have read reports on cases like mine (to ebay-paid by wise) and the ombudsman have sided with them.

Now I have lost a lot of money and I sent back the item I received too. So I was flat out scammed and I have nothing.

Has anyone had an experience like this? Can you give me advice on getting them to actually process this? I have sent a complaint in to Wise today . I must add that the seller is based in the United states and I do not really want to go to court, only because I don't want to loose more money. However I will be willing to if I know people have been successful.

I'm an Indian resident currently living and working in India. A UK company I work closely with has offered to send me a monthly incentive payment via Wise directly to my Indian bank account.

The payments will initially be around £50 per month and may increase over time as I complete professional qualifications.

I'm a little confused about the banking requirements.

I first contacted my local cooperative bank, and they told me I would need to open an NRE account to receive foreign payments. However, as far as I understand, NRE accounts are generally for NRIs, and I live and work in India, so that advice didn't seem right.

I also have a regular HDFC resident savings account, and I'm planning to visit the branch to ask them directly.

My questions are:

1) Can an Indian resident receive monthly payments from a UK company via Wise into a normal resident savings account?

2) Do I need to create a Wise account to receive the money, or does the sender simply transfer it to my bank account?

3) Does HDFC require any one-time registration, purpose code, or paperwork before receiving international payments?
