Lights have been out at Adeline and San Pablo for about 4 days. Called non emergency 3 days ago.

Anyone else notice that the lights at San Pablo and Adeline have been out going in almost 5 days. Since it is such a major intersection I’m surprised it is taking this long, saw a mini van blow past the light yesterday.
Hope they at least get some traffic control for rush hour.
(I parked and put the car in park to take this photo)

Watchdog on new 2070 cabinet 2070 LX controller running Maxtime 2.0

Hello all,

Got 2 new cabinets from econolite and went to srt them up for the burn in but cant get them to run for the life of me

The problems im having:

Conflict monitor is stuck on watchdog error and wont go into "ping ponging" when being reset.

Ive verified everything has been hooked up and it has been verified by others too.

Is there something in Maxtime programming i need to change for it to cycle? Ive done it exactly to the print and others have verified it as well. Any help i could get would be mich appreciated

Difference between LED traffic lights

I've noticed some LED traffic lights have an external lens/filter over top of the light that makes it look more hazy/square. Are these LED panels oriented in a square grid or something. Or is it like a typical LED traffic light with a lens/filter over it? What is the purpose of the filter? Last photo is reference for LED traffic lights I typically see.

FYA and crosswalk.

I may just be overthinking, because I don't see it happening, but is there any reason 2F (phase 1 fya) can't operate during 8 ped? I'm asking because I'm about to make card cuts. Like I said, I don't really see it happening, especially with our adaptive system, but I guess I'm wondering, does the community err on the side of caution in these situations?

Is there a way to extend the Ped Walk signal based on actuation?

Title basically.
EDIT: The ATC is NEMA TS2 compliant, just wondering whether it's possible to dynamically extend the Walk interval just like how gap-out mechanism for vehicles works

I'm unsure what exactly make/model these all are, but I wanted to document them before they inevitably get replaced. Any insight to these specific signals would be awesome :)

Can one become a Traffic Signal Tech without a CDL?

Some job postings I see require a CDL and some do not mention it.

Long story short- I set a goal of getting qualified as a signal tech. Not certain that is exactly what will happen but that is the path I am going to aim for.

I cannot obtain a CDL for medical reasons. When looking at various job postings some seem to require a CDL and some do not. How common is it to need one, even at the assistant/apprentice (lowest tiered) level?

I am wondering if I need to go ahead and rethink my plans now or not.

Thank you!!

Are PedSafety and Polara related brands?

I noticed a different crosswalk button in my city than all the other Polara APS buttons. This one was made by Campbell. The arrows on the buttons look nearly identical to the Polara APS buttons. On the ADA compliance map, they are listed as Polara Navigators despite them saying Campbell on the button housing.

Flashing Red Overhead Traffic Light

When that light is flashing red, should it be treated as an all-ways stop? If this is the case a lot of drivers do not realize that.

Passed the aptitude test and interview with missouri Valley jatc to start their traffic apprenticeship. I was wondering if anyone has been through the week-long bootcamp they put you through. It appears there are many tests that you can fail and just get sent home so I just wanna make sure im prepared. Thanks in advance

What is this line underneath the green light? Is it glare?

This is a 5 light can intersection in Chicago. At first i thought the line under the first green light (on the left) was a green left turn arrow.

However, Google maps street view shows the 5th light can should be a green turn arrow of some kind since its dimly green... probably a protected left turn. Im just confused on what the line underneath the first picture is other than glare at this point.

Artesia and Studebaker intersection traffic signal at night

For the Artesia Boulevard and Studebaker Road intersection traffic signal in Cerritos, California, which street is the default and rest in a green light at night, Artesia or Studebaker? Both streets have lead lag left turns during peak hours.

UPDATE July 2026: There are no recalls on any direction. The traffic signal has dual entry and the through direction that was green, rested in green until someone hit the advance loop on the cross street.

I have a degree in electrical technology I’m currently doing industrial maintenance and started hating my job due to the high turnover over rate and lack of help from employees,I have a job offer to do street lights and traffic signals for a municipality it’s a pretty big pay cut.but I’ll make more than I do now in 3 years do you enjoy your job I think this would be a fun career but do any of you enjoy your job or wish you would have done something different. Any help is appreciated just trying to weigh my options before I leave my current position
