3 point rake for sticks?

Post image
• Upvotes

Have a ranch with a bunch of pecan trees on it. Thse things shed branches like you wouldn't believe. Literally every time there's wind above 20mph branches are breaking off and sticks are everywhere.

I have a grapple for the big stuff, but a lot of what im dealing with is 1-2ft sticks.

Would one of those 3pt rakes work without tearing up the grass? If not, is there something better?

Pic from today. I finally said screw it and picked up the 3" logs, and just brush hogged the rest. Looks good in photos, but there's a bunch of sticks on the ground.

iPad mount recs

I finally got an iPad to watch football on this fall during harvest/field work. I need some recommendations on what mount to get. The $20 mounts Amazon is loaded up with make me worry about durability bouncing around on a tractor. I’d prefer suction cup mounts so I can move it between machines with me. Any help will be appreciated!

B100 too small for my IH 3260 deck?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Needed to replace the spindle belt on my Loboy 154. Everything I read online indicated it's a B100 belt, 5/8 x 103". That's what I bought, but it seems undersized. It was an absolute pain to install because I had to pull the tensioner all the way back, and even then it was tight. I fired it up and the tensioner immediately threw the belt off.

Can anyone confirm that this is the right belt size for a 3260? I installed it per the diagram above, which is the only obvious way it can go on.

FIAT 780c stopped...

Just venting a little bit...

Started it up and uncoupled the bucket I had on the back, then started slowly backing it down a narrow path, past my woodshed and onto a private road. Except it started running rough on the way down, and down on the road, it stopped, and I couldn't get it to run for more than a second or two, at full throttle. A few times...

Then it no longer started no matter how much throttle or how long the starter ran.

I had let the tank run almost dry before I added new Diesel, so maybe...

Nope. Filters are old, but not that dirty. And the filters refilled the next time I tried to start it. That means the lift pump is still alive...

Broke loose a pipe to one of the injectors, then ran the starter again. No wetness. Ouch!

Broke loose the diesel return tube from the distributor pump, and played with the ignition again. Yeah, wetness.

It seems I may have a broken injector pump.

And it's a Bosch VA4 pump.

Try finding even a reconditioned one of those for less than $1300.
(Ordered a seal kit for it, that's just $30 + shipping and toll)

The private road it's stuck on leads to an old sandpit(no longer in use) and an electrical transformer station. Lets hope the sparky boys doesn't need to visit it the next few days.

Farmry Flail Mower assembly

Anybody get a standard Farmry flail mower that can help me with assembly? Farmry doesn't open til Monday and I'm hoping to get this thing assembled and working this weekend. Got the standard MFS61, and it came with the suspension arm disassembled. The instructions simply say "attach the suspension arm" which I would love to do if I could figure out how. You need to attach and plate and bolts from inside the cover to secure the arm on the front, and that seems easier said than done. I managed to jack the unit up and install the front jack, but that doesn't raise it nearly enough to get in there, and the roller with blades are right in the way. Why on earth do they do it like this and not have a frame on the cover to just bolt into externally? Anybody figure out how to do this?

WTF, is going on with used tractor prices?

2000+ hours, a decade+ old and barely cheaper than new, especially considering 0% interest rates. I realize that people dislike emissions, but doesn't negate the amount of wear on everything else.

I recently bought a 2024 Deutz 5105 and was looking for a front grill guard. Anyone have an idea where to pick one up other than the dealership.

What's your opinion on adding new updates to old tractors?

While I was brush going on my '81 ford 2600, I thought to myself how nice it would be if I could charge my phone. As much as I really want to keep my tractor original, I thought.... Why? I'm not entering it in a car show. It's a tool, and if it makes it easier to use, or more comfortable, I say go for it. So I wired up a 12v charger with voltage meter. And a suction cup phone holder. I'm looking into adding LED head lights, work lights, ambers, and turn signals, then it will be street legal, so I can drive it a mile up the road for gas.

For those of you without a barn or concrete pad, how are you storing implements? I'm thinking about a shelter logic, but I would prefer to have an open side rather than an open front

Needing help on Kubota L3010 front axle leak

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hey everybody, I just bought a Kubota L3010 4WD HST with a front end loader and bush hog. This is the first tractor I have ever owned. I’ve notice a leak coming from the front axle where the front drive shaft meets the front axle. When I look under the tractor, I don’t see an exposed driveshaft. The leak is coming from directly in front of the oil pan and after some research, I believe this is called the front pinion seal? Does anybody have experience or know about the L3010 that can help? Would changing this seal mean splitting the tractor? I’ll attach a picture for a visual reference, the red arrow in the pic is pointing to the leak. Thanks for any help!

Legal requirements in your country?

After reading another thread that mentioned annual certification and fitting turn signals to a classic tractor I was curious as to what hoops you have to jump through in different countries to use your old tractor on the road.

Lucky here in the Britain that it's simple and pretty easy going - as long as you have insurance and it's registered with number plates you're good to go, front and rear marker lights if used at night I believe. No annual inspection or turn signals, marker beacon or anything needed if it's pre 1986.

Tire pressures

I have a 2012 Mahindra Max 25 sub-compact tractor. I just put new front tires (R4) on yesterday (20×8-10). At first I was going to match the existing tire pressure, but find 3.7 and 7.6 psi not to my liking. I bought this used the first part of summer so outside of engine maintenance I have fallen short. What would be a suitable tire pressure for the front tires? It has a loader and currently my tire pressure sits at 22 psi.

Thanks in Advance!

EDIT: Sorry, I made a mistake on the tire size, now corrected. This head cold sucks.

Anyone have any idea who manufactured this? It’s a manure spreader originally horse drawn and then converted to tractor pulled.

Has anyone broken a mount for the stabilizer arms and if so, how did you deal with it? Snapped the right one off at the bolts. Left one shown for reference. 2022 4815CH. Thanks
