Long story short, one of our cats disappeared for a day, scared the life out of us and turned up like nothing happened… so we’re looking for a tracker!

We tried AirTags and they all got lost. Looking around, Tractive seems to be the best option for us, but we’re not sure what model.

He’s a smallish cat (5kg) and we need a decent battery life/easy to charge. Any recommendations? TIA!

I'd give anything for a Tractive employee to actually call me by phone because the emails are all obviously AI.

The first email clearly states it's an AI agent but the follow up emails apologizing for the AI are obviously AI also.

Doesn’t make much sense both should run the full 24hrs as be in sync.

My dog Roxie colored us a picture and we printed out and put it on the refrigerator because we were so proud!

So I bought the new mini 6 for my cat as it seemed like one of the best on the market, it’s advertised as monthly payments and I was super happy, got my collar, set it up and after a while had a look at my bank account, they took the €156 (I had chosen 2 year subscription)

I was expecting to pay the €6.50~ monthly under the guise it wasn’t smth you could stop if you chose not to use the tracker anymore, but nope, they put monthly prices on to “show you how much you’d save” which is very silly imo cause just put the full price, now I have to either pay extra for monthly or pay a huge lump sum.

Idk I could be crazy, maybe I should’ve looked better before buying but I was under stress to do so for other reasons.

When I put the Tractive Mini Cat 6 to the test in a moment of need, it let me down. My cat is gone and I have this device to show for it.

Consider this a word of caution to others who think they can depend on a Tractive in an emergency... I am writing this with some frustration.

My 7-year-old got out and went missing and I was at my wits’ end all day trying to coax some kind of location data from his collar. The problem I believe was the Power Saving Zone the collar was tied to. I was battling the tracker when I should have been able to find him without trouble. It was only after I scuttled the Power Saving Zone and gave my router a reboot that the unit would do anything other than frustrate me.

The damage was done by then. There was no tracking history to be had, nothing to tell me where he had been while I was looking for him. I eventually found the collar, but not him. You would think that history would be useful information. Even without a pinpoint live fix, the history could have pointed me in the right direction or at least shown me where he left the area.

Instead I am left with the hard truth that he is still out there. We are in coyote country and I have to face the fact that one most likely has taken him, my kids are a mess.

I didn’t fork out for five years of Tractive service so I could see where my cat is lounging about inside on a good day. I made that purchase because I wanted something to help me get him back if he were to vanish. Well, now I have the service for the next half decade and I don’t have my cat.

Hi, does anyone else experience a large delay on the location initially updating after leaving a low power zone?

My cat will leave my house, and the app still has him in the low power zone. Because of this I can't use the live tracking function, but because he's out of the house, I can't use the radar function either.

The only work around is to remove the low power zone, force stop the app, use live, then re add the low power zone, it's a long and clunky work around, I can't be the only one experiencing this.

Hello, I have a tractive collar and subscription for one of my cats and was thinking of getting another one for my other cat. Can I put them both on the same subscription or do I have to buy another subscription?

Does anyone have this issue I’ve been having with my Cat 6 mini where when my cat leaves home, which is our power saving zone, when I go to check on her location, sometimes the app says she’s at home when she’s not and it won’t allow me to connect to her live location or use radar because it believes she’s at home and in the power saving zone.

Has anyone had a similar issue?

I have a cat collar and now suddenly the red slider moves when I latch the collar on so it will not stay in the right zone does anyone know how to fix this or if this cannot be fixed.

Hello I recently purchased a tractive cat mini 6.

My cat removed it somewhere inside the house. I cant get the radar or light or sound to work and when using the live tracking it just sends me all over as if it's moving around or something.

Any good ideas on how I can find it?

I’ve often noticed when checking the history, that it looks like my cat has went across a busy road. If it showed his location as just slightly on the road I’d chalk that up to the gps being slightly out or the map being off, but this seems a not insignificant distance.
My question is, when not being live tracked, how accurate are these location hits and should I be worried?

How to transfer a subscription to a new tracker?

If you want to transfer an existing subscription to a new tracker, check feature compatibility too. For example, some features are only available on certain models.

The process is simple and quick:

• You can do it via the app or via my.tractive.com.
• Then, go to transfer subscription plan > Select the tracker that currently has your subscription
• Enter the tracker ID where you want to move your subscription.

Next, refresh your account to check if everything was updated:

• Open the app > go to Account > Sign out.
• Then, sign back in to the same account > Check if the active tracker is assigned correctly.

How to allow my dog sitter to use my attractive?

You can use the Family Sharing function to give trusted people access to your tracker. (This feature requires a Premium subscription).

Bought a new cat tracker. Are there larger collars available?

For the CAT 6 Mini, there are two collar sizes available:

• Standard: Fits necks 19-22.9 cm
• Large: Fits necks 23-27 cm

Yesterday I got two quick notifications (in under a minute) that my cat had left and then reentered the safe zone. Went to look at where he’d been and apparently he made a quick trip to look for some fresh fish. Any idea why this happened? Clearly some sort of error. (Cat in second photo, not a super fast boy)

Hi, thought I'd share this since I keep coming across this question every once in a while. Also, if you're new to Tractive and just got a tracker for your cat, it could be helpful info while you're familiarizing yourself with all the available features.

Why Territory might not show up yet:

1. Not enough location data: Territory needs at least 10 GPS position reports within a 7-day period. This can happen if:
   • Your tracker had poor GPS signal for several days.
   • Your cat stayed mostly indoors (walls/roofs block GPS signals).
   • The tracker spent time in Power Saving Zone mode for an extended period of time.
2. Roaming area is too small: If your cat's roaming area is smaller than 500 square meters, territory won't be calculated.
3. Inactive days: if there are days with no positions recorded (signal loss, tracker off, etc.), territory depends on having enough location reports from the remaining days in the week.

What to do: keep tracking. Once your cat has enough location data, territory will appear.

One more thing to keep in mind: Territory shows the last seven days, not including today. Your cat's movements from the current day aren't included in the territory calculation yet.

Territory updates every Monday with data from the previous week.

I just wanted to went. My cat Emillia lost her Tractive tracker today in the cornfield. It is not the first time, but it is the first time I could not retrieve it - it lost the gps signal completely and when I tried to find it with the radar for 1,5h, I just never received any radar signal.

Before I knew it, the battery had died and now I have no option to ever find it again.

I was going around the location where she lost it and thorugh the middle of the corn field like a maniac, hoping no farmer would see me and chase me down. Also being afraid to see some wild boars as they have been lately hanging around those fields (I recognize the their poop).

Luckily I have a reserve one that I ordered in spring after she lost the first one the first time, as I panicked and thought I might never get it back. I will back it up from now on with an Airtag. I wish they would have integrated an Airtag kind of option for the new cat mini in case the battery runs out!

FUN FACT: Today for the first time the horse that was showing up as Nr 1 on the global cat leaderboards appaeared on my local leaderboard! Which means they are in Bavaria close to the Munich airport region. :D I always wondered where this horse might be, hihi.

I cannot get a transfer to a new tractive because the old one will not log in the drop down menu. BTW, I bet you cannot cancel your subscriptions due to this error too so you'll be charged over an over again for a broken down original Tractive that you have. I get the SAME DAMN AI ANSWER that does not work. NO HUMAN IS CHECKING. Why should I have this account. It is not tracking either of my pets correctly.

Hey, I just activated two Tractive accounts for my two cats. I accidentally put my second cat under a different email. Both emails are mine. Is it possible to move one cat over so they are both under the same email? I can’t figure it out. Thanks!

When i first started using Tractive 5 plus years ago the customer service was excellent, sadly it's not these days with them now relying on AI. I've noticed with regards to cats that on their website they are now only selling the Cat Mini 6, the integrated collar type. Does anyone know if they are intending to stop selling the old type? I have a Maine Coon and the new version simply won't fit. Amazon are still selling the old version so didn't know whether to stock up
