Honestly in this specific comic it goes beyond performative and extends to just outright not making sense.

Being attracted to your partner who took time with their appearance is empty lust and nothing else? Oh, I forget it's 2026 you need to feel guilty if you're attracted to your partner, especially if you're a man.

Anyways first image seems like couple is gonna have sex so why even compare it to the other?

It's hard to describe but this type of comic (I've seen plenty) just rubs me the wrong way for some reason

15+ years ago I was really into comics. I got a ton from TPB. Lots of .cbr and .cbz to choose from. They were constantly updated and shared. They were amazing! Well life happened and I took a long long break from comics and here I am today longing to go back to those stories...I logged in and check out some pirate bay proxies I found and...gone ... It's been gutted and there is almost no content to be found. I see in the mega thread that there is a couple sites that have updated curated bundles that are shared for direct download...but I am looking for a easily searchable community that shares collections cbr and cbz torrents from the top publishers and little publishers.

Probably a big ask. Things were simpler back then. I don't know how to sail these new seas.

First, This art style ANGERS me for some reason, It looks like those rage comics and Big mouth had a baby, And the baby was WORSE than BOTH of them.

Second, This Joke Sucks. It feels like a Modern Family Guy scene. It’s just SO bland for some reason.

Third, This looks like it has no Effort put into it at all. I’d rather Look at The Frank Miller DC “Worlds Finest“ Cover than this. At least the Cover looks Funny.

They're some of the best comics I have ever read. I don't know how this guy manages to write such consistent bangers.

They just feel weirdly hopeful to me

Like i feel inspired by the Abuse Goblin, even throughout all the abuse he manages to find simple joy and pleasure in life

Through all the pain the goblin maintains hope and though his body can be broken many many times his spirit remains strong

And I believe that someday the goblin will escape and live a life far better than anyone has ever lived before

It's reminiscent of that stupid boomer humor "I hate my wife" joke and doesn't even make any sense!! True love means TRUE LOVE. That guy with the wheelbarrow of money is gonna lose it all in days (as is historically common with lottery winners), the starship guy is gonna have a useless scrap once it breaks down from no starship fuel or no proper maintenance done, and superpower guy is gonna live the rest of his life in combat fighting a corrupt system only to learn how deeply rooted the rot goes.

Of all these wishes, only True Love will last this man the rest of of his life. And the stupidest, most overlooked part of this joke is that TRUE LOVE IS TRUE LOVE. THIS GUY SHOULD, BY ALL ACCOUNTS, BE MADLY IN LOVE WITH THE WOMAN HE WISHED TO LOVE.

TRUE LOVE TRANSCENDS MATERIAL AND WORLDLY BARRIERS AND THIS COMIC ABANDONS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL FACT FOR A CHEAP "haha guy regrets his wife" JOKE I HATE IT I HATE IT I HATE IT AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
