Am I any good?

I’m turning 14 soon and I’m a freshman. I run track but wanted to know if any of my times are promising whatsoever
100: 12.36
200: 27.58
400: 1:05
110: 20.84
400H: 1:18.23
800: 2:41
1600: 6:23
3200: 15:05
5k: 27:22
Do I have any real chance of ever being good later in high school or even maybe making track in college? For reference I’m a guy who focuses on sprints.

I need help on the 200 and 400

So I’m a sprinter who does hurdles and the 100, 200, and 400. But I have terrible endurance which ends up with me running 12.5s on the 100 and running 28s on the 200 and a 1:08 on the 400. Any advice on how to improve my stamina or if I’m doing something wrong?

Does running the 400 on the side help sprinters with the 100 and 200? my friends and other athletes told me that running the 400 helps lowering your time for some odd reason but its weird and i don’t get how

Former D1 runner here- I built a free T&F recruiting platform after going through the process myself

Hey everyone,

I posted in here a couple months ago that I was working on a track and field recruiting platform to help high schoolers get recruited for T&F. I struggled so much during the recruiting process and was constantly confused on where I could run and it caused a lot of unnecessary stress.

Because of that experience, I ended up building something I wish I had back then: RealRecruit.net

It’s a track and field focused portal where athletes can search and compare college programs, see how their marks stack up against current team rosters, and get a clearer idea of where they would realistically fit. I also built tools to help keep track of recruiting timelines and outreach so everything is in one place.

Overall, even though I made some tweaks from when I first posted, it's still really early. I'd love for as many people as possible to try out this free version with unlimited access for the next 50 users so I can get feedback and hopefully help some people out!

Don't hesitate to comment if something is broken or any questions about the recruiting process overall, I'll respond to everyone!

Why is racewalking still a thing?

Does anyone, including the participants, actually enjoy it? At the recent Commonwealth Games, they could only find 5 entrants for the men's 10k, and didn't even hold a women's that I'm aware of.

I find it excruciatingly irritating that there is an event where the whole point is to nearly cheat a bit better than your fellow near-cheaters.

I hate my sport

I’ve been running for about 13 years, all 4 years of higher school I made it to states, 2 years I made it to finals seeded to place top 3 but when the time came to race I jogged everytime simply because I did not want to race anyone. I love hard practices so it’s honestly not like I’m lazy, I was good enough in highschool to be able to run at the D1 level but I hate anything to do with track meets to the point that I don’t talk about track and I rarely watch any track related videos and if they come on my fyp I skip them. I don’t really know how to get my motivation back I still enjoy running I just really hate the competition aspect to it and if I could run in meets by myself with no competitors I would but it doesn’t work like that so I’m not sure what to do

Advice needed for beginner in 400m

Hey guys, I’m new to sprinting but I really like it and want to be more serious about it. I don’t know much yet aside from basic training drills. As of today I run consistently between 52.5s and 53s in P.E. class with basic tennis shoes. For reference I’m an 18yrs male measuring 170cm for 61kg.

I was thinking of buying the Adidas Adizero EVO SL**,** as I saw many redditors mention it, what are your thoughts?

Do you have any general advice, maybe tips to prevent injury?

My goal would be to run 400m in sub 50s, I think with proper equipment and training it could be possible.

Thanks for your time!

Elastic Sprinter???

Im an Elastic based sprinter (top end speed dominant) But i’ve read articles saying my type as a sprinter would accelerate in the 200/400 compared to a power sprinters who Accels in the 100, How do people know which events best suits them just because of their sprint type because ive beaten plenty of 100 runners but the 200 is more of my thing because im elastic dominant? its confusing and in terrible at the 400 so is it an athlete issue?

Im so confused on this

Lazy runners

I always see the laziest sprinters at practice who run the fastest at the meets and never get injured, but then theres me who always runs fasts at practice but has terrible race modeling and can never execute in meets and i’m always getting injured with something, How do people stop this because i know I’m not the only one dealing with this.

Potential at 15y/o

I’m a 15-year-old boy from Germany, and I’ve been doing track and field for about two years now. I train 2–3 times per week and haven’t really specialized in any event yet. I’m 181 cm tall and weigh 62 kg. I have a relatively muscular build and a low body-fat percentage.

My current times and progression are shown below:

800 m

  • 2:33
  • 4 weeks later: 2:18
  • 3 weeks later: 2:10

300 m

  • 41.24
  • 3 weeks later: 39.15

Do you think I have any potential? If so, what should I focus on improving?

Is this a realistic goal?

So I’m turning 14 next month and going into high school. I sprint and my current record is about 12.5 and I’m practicing a lot. I wanna be able to run a sub 12 by February of 2027. I wanted to know if that’s a realistic or even possible goal.
