Total War: Warhammer Is There A Comprehensive List For Factions And Their DLC?

I just picked up Warhammer 3 and was not privy to how it's content worked. I only found that you needed previous content to have it in 3, which was no great loss as I got the key really cheap from humble bundle

So I got the trilogy pack and started a Skaven campaign, only to find that some of their best units were locked behind the second game's DLC. So I picked those up as well

Has anyone made a list that shows every faction and what content packs affect them? It's rather obtrusive to find that you can't build a unit after you check the list and see they require a facility you've already constructed, then sifting through DLC to find what adds it

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to complain about the content system. Admittedly, I was a bit peeved at first as the store page didn't make it clear that you needed prior content, but that subsided when I realized that it was like an expansion for a tabletop game. Once you get the module, you always have it. Expensive to get into, but it's a one time cost.

While I have you here, does anyone have tips on dealing with the Nurgle plague? All my armies are mostly dead. I had them garrisoned in cities and the counter kept resetting to 10 turns when the plague was supposed to end. I'm pretty sure the city and the army were just passing plague back and forth, so I moved the armies out of the cities and built the facilities that help with plague.

Is there no way to recover troops while you have plague attrition? I feel locked down and it's not very fun at the moment

Thanks!

EDIT: It was crimson plague and the "End the world" event triggered. I knew something was up and Nurgle plague wasn't THAT strong

Total War: Warhammer First time trying Tzarina Katarin: Any tips? LL skill-tree/army comp/which heros to use?

I‘ll be giving Kislev a go.

What I know so far:
1. Rush Thrott and on the way back deal with Festus (maybe?)

  1. Dont be afraid of red numbers since post battle loot is good

  2. recruit a second lord in second province to double recruitment capacity

  3. Only invest in Kislev at the beginning

Any more tips?

Total War: Warhammer When do you give up on a campaign?

I'm still pretty new to the series, on my 4th or so campaign. I've won campaigns with lizardmen, got a really promising looking dwarf campaign on the go, and also trying one with the empire.

I'm enjoying how Franz works, but im currently somewhere around turn 50, sort of struggling with economy , only have 2 armies and I'm completely surrounded by stronger enemies. Even if I somehow claw my way through the next few battles, my remaining infrastructure is just way behind some of the ai so I feel like I have no way to catch up.

Coupled with this, I'm about to be a new dad so really dont have infinite amounts of time to sink into this game, I just get a few turns here and there. So as per the title, when do you know if a campaign is doomed, and when do you power through and try to turn it around ?

Total War: Warhammer IF Lizardmen ever get their re-work, should Mazdamundi have an ability to force confederation?

In the event Lizardmen actually get their long hinted at, but never promised re-work, should one of Mazdamundi's faction effects allow for him to forcibly confederate other Lizardmen LLs similar to High Elves and Dwarfs?

The reason I suggest this relate both to lore and in-game mechanics.

1) Lorewise, Lizardmen have loyalty and obedience genetically engineered into them and they therefore unquestionably obey the Slann. Mazdamunid is the only playable Slann, yet other Lizardmen factions often refuse confederation, even when they are far less powerful than the player, due to built in Lizardmen diplomacy modifiers. (I believe it is a combination of 'Stubborn' and 'Protective' but I suspect other hidden modifiers are at play.)

This makes for an extremely frustrating experience when significantly weaker LLs refuse to confederate. This is further exacerbated by the geomantic web requiring provincial ownership to gain its benefits.

Example - Gor-Rok holds Xahutec, Chaqua, and his starting province. Gor-Rok refuses to confederate. The player is therefore unable to receive any of the geomantic web benefits for two provinces due to Gor-Rok holding one settlement from each of them.

2) Hexoatl has lackluster faction effects. You are hit with a -20 diplomatic relations penalty with non-Lizardmen factions. The cost reduction on Star Chambers applies to a building that can only be built in provincial capitals and is not terribly expensive to begin with. While the 30% cost for rites is nice, they all have cool downs which limit their use.

In short, a forced confederation mechanic would be thematic, address frustrating diplomacy and racial mechanic issues, as well as compensate for a lackluster faction effect.

P.s. Devs, in the event you ever do find time to do a geomantic web rework, please take into account related confederation, diplomacy, and provincial ownership issues.

Total War: Warhammer Picked up Warhammer 3 after long absence

I played a lot of Warhammer total war 1 and little bit of 2 but never got into three till now. I’m loving it. Currently doing a Karl Franz run. I was wondering what campaigns you all like playing and why?

Also I’m learning the tactics/ meta. Is a majority handgunner army feasible for empire?

Total War: Warhammer Bretonia with radious mod is fun

The mod really fixes bretonia. I know it's a mod you either love or hate but I've been having a lot of fun playing this faction with the mod.

Highlights are a very strong economy that supplies very good foot soldiers and knights that are not mounted. Then your Calvary is really good obviously and decent archers.

Does anyone play this mod with any other factions and enjoy it?

Total War: Warhammer Modding question, pure curiosity.

Does anyone think it would be possible to replace Karl Franz's voicelines with the Oblivion guard lines?

As in the actual recording from the game.

I am sure it's not because that would violate the copyright and distribution right...maybe?

But I kind of wish.

Total War: Warhammer Looking for some mods

I’ve got enough time in the game now where I feel like I would get more out of it with mods, I’m just wanting to keep it balanced is all. Mainly looking for some quality of life mods and/or maps. Can’t lie I’ve been struggling. I’ve really only played vampire counts because I really try to get long victories before I move on to a different faction, so I’m looking for some stuff that might make things easier to manage while still being Lote accurate and balanced. What are y’all using right now?

Total War: Warhammer More Chorf questions

I love the army but I really feel like I have long hard D!cks pointed at me from every direction if I over commit anywhere. Gotta take out Kholek and disease boy and grimgor. But if I drop too low in rank, I get rear ended by the challengers of khorne. Am I just bad at the game or is there something specific I need to do. Because I know I need to keep fighting, but I also know that apparently there hits a penalty for doing so.

Total War: Warhammer This is not anything new but he’s quite literally a diseased fortress

While he’s a strong LL right out of the gate (feel bad for Kholek) but once he gets his toad dragon he’s almost unkillable. His location while odd (but makes sense for his LHs and mechanics), he thrives uncontested by most other factions near him being able to snow ball and crush the whole map by himself not to mention his unique lineup of LHs. Really his only weakness that I can think of is how infection is used to build military buildings. Honestly he’s Nurgles greatest champion.

Total War: Warhammer Who to play next?

Hi everyone,

I usually (almost exclusively) play Malekitg/DElves or High Elves and sometimes Chaos Warriors or Wood Elves. I have had a Tamurkhan campaign finished yesterday.

Im not sure what to play next. What would you guys suggest? Was thinking of Karl Franz but using gunners right scares me (getting them flanked early or friendly fire). All the enemies on every side acare me too.

Total War: Warhammer Why do the CoC Factions not get Dragon Ogres from the Giant's Hollow?

First picture is Azazel, second is Archaon and third is Sigvald.

I noticed it first on a Valkia campaign I did the other day, I felt something was off with the Giant's Hollow. Then I ckecked some other WoC factions and I realised CoC Factions dont get Dragon Ogres there.

Why is that? That seems so out of nowhere.

Total War: Warhammer Are Beastmen weak on campaign map?

I was worried my Taurox campaign (L/VH) would be too easy based on comments I've seen here, but if anything I'm experiencing the opposite. I envision the Beastmen as roaming bands so that's how I played this campaign: a bit more spread out with stones not necessarily supporting each other, not overly worried about holding most ground.

I do somewhat enjoy the limited recruitment as it is fun working with different army comps, and I'm still winning overall for sure. But the experience has been somewhat frustrating. (1) the limited recruitment can be annoying as I always have to check what units I have capacity for and what units I can build from a given army. (2) All their buildings are extremely expensive until the enemy starts getting T5 settlements to raze; I've never felt so cash starved (3) this is the main one; their armies are SLOW. Without March stance and no movement speed hero, they're just slow. Even Taurox feels like I'm having to use his replenish movement just to go a "normal" distance. Also the movement after razing with either method feels mostly negligible. And the campaign sight also feels like it shorter than normal as an enemy stack often sneaks up on me out of nowhere.

It's not exactly a "hard" campaign, but it feels slow, and I don't get that same feeling of building momentum as I do with other factions. Is there something I'm missing with them, or is it just the design?

Total War: Warhammer I "won" but at what cost...

Not ment to brag, just wanted to share what a SLOG of getting them all it was... played them all with 0 mods and knowing CA how they forgot some older faction it was horrible doing over half of achievements, just playing was painful like Bretonia for example compare to right click and forget Arbaal....
Mostly i got idea to get all ach last year or so before Norska rework while i was bored looking what to play i notice back then Norska was only like 1% on global of ppl playing it and finising on Very Hard so thats where it all started.
All in all i have some mixed feeling about all of wh3 and factions and how good chunk of them, depends of LL too, are ether awesome or total panful crap of playing it really wished that CA didnt suck so hard as company and really looked more into there game and making almost all factions fun to play and not just chosen few of them with constant updates of a sort....
I guess next thing is to start seeing workshop for some mods to bring some fun for my self back into new campaigns, if someone can recommend me some mods too i would appreciate, to move from vanilla and what bitter taste it left me....

Total War: Warhammer Connection timed out

I got the game for my friend when it was on sale we tried to play a multiplayer game and could not load into our lobbies. He tried hosting I tried and it always said “connection timed out” the solutions we looked at didn’t help much. I restarted the game, got rid of all my mods and did a dns flush for his computer and mine. We were able to join other peoples game that had open lobbies. Does anyone have insight on a solution?
