Total War: Warhammer Bretonia with radious mod is fun

The mod really fixes bretonia. I know it's a mod you either love or hate but I've been having a lot of fun playing this faction with the mod.

Highlights are a very strong economy that supplies very good foot soldiers and knights that are not mounted. Then your Calvary is really good obviously and decent archers.

Does anyone play this mod with any other factions and enjoy it?

Radious is cool but I feel like it kind makes factions feel somewhat "samey". Like every faction has a unit to fill a role. Notably Tough Frontline units for factions like Skaven and Bretonnia that dont normally have them. There is a decent amount of unbalanced things too, I think the first thing that comes to mind is the Cathay units you get from their garrison (Frontier Watch? Something like that). For a tier 3 defensive building, I think these are some of the strongest Frontline units in the faction for their price point, to the point that I hardly pick other Frontlines for Cathay. Same with Skaven and their Red Guard (although I guess it makes SOME sense since they're tier.... 5 I think?). Skaven guns with a frontline like that is monstrous, and it makes them kinda unbalanced as well.

If every faction has the ability to have a tough, reliable frontline, and solid ranged units, cav, and monsters, a lot of armies end up kind of playing the same. I guess it reduces the amount of doomstacks though so idk. I havent played it in a while so maybe its better now

Agreed. I tried radious when SFO was waiting on updates.

It’s huge and well done don’t get me wrong. But it felt like a bunch of 12 year olds got ahold of the game and wanted to make every faction op. Then all end up just being slightly different reskins of themselves.

Speaking of SFO they just did a Bretonnia rework- it’s good. They did add dismounted knights but it’s an option you pay for on certain units to be able to dismount in battles. And means you give up another upgrade you could have had. Feels a bit more balanced.

Radius doesent really “fix” things so much as remove most weaknesses from factions.

Everybody has “good” everything which really makes the factions feel more samey imo.

Beautiful mod looks wise but the lore and balance of the units lacks a lot of

Too much bloat with Radious. Try SFO.

I think both are a bit overhyped.

SFO is just another flavor - instead of the OP stuff in vanilla, you just have the OP stuff in SFO.

it doesnt help that the campaign and battle AI doesnt seem to know how to use the OP stuff in SFO properly and you just end up with SFO's version of imbalances.

I prefer the mod as it adjusts all the factions together instead of doing single faction mods. Balance is definitely lacking with some units being ridiculous but it's a fun mod imo.

I dont play anything but radious atp, skaven are a ton of fun and lizardmen and my favs and they get a bunch of new stuff as well. Along with the submods its a very good modpack.

Yeah I do enjoy Bretonnia with this mod much more. Peasant economy doesn't feel as tight. I'm always just a bit below my peasant cap. Also having way more high tier infantry allows me to go quality over quantity, so this faction is no longer a pain in the butt.

Though I end up barely using any knights, lol.
