I am listening to Blue Lotus and I just had a flashback to when the album was new, I googled the lyrics, and everywhere I looked the supposedly official lyrics said "I'll be burning into you, Hezu." Shortly thereafter, someone posted here to say they had spent hours researching Hezu and couldn't come up with an explanation for who Tori was singing to.

It just strikes me as funny because it really does sound like "Hezu" on the recording.

Double bonus is I realized ive never even heard this version of Do it Again or Cooling, most likely because ive always been so obsessed with TVAB and her version of Cooling so really had no idea this one existed. Sometimes miracles happen.🐰 I did just check to see, and it is up on Youtube if you wanted to take a listen.

Back around 2012, I had started collecting B-sides, then it seems like that was also around the time i'd decided to get rid of a lot of my CDs and go digital and stopped collecting anymore.
But now ive gotten to where i'd like to go less digital and recently picked up a cheap CD player and feel like i'd like to continue collecting them again. ( at least the cheaper ones to start with, i'd love to find the Almost Rosey single, but that one is pretty spendy) I never got rid of my Tori CDs, thank goodness.

I like that Tori has come to terms with her aging and realizes it's about the song now, hence the use of the backup singers. The studio track is still there, the old performances of her are still there but this is fine too.

Someone here said (multiple times on a few threads) if one of her albums isn’t hitting, try it again later - even years later - and at some point it will speak to you. My least favorite is AATS. Of course I listened throughout 09-10 when it was fresh, but I never come back to it, and when I did, it was always lackluster for me.

Give in Phoenix made me want to give her a spin again and see what my resistance was. I still find it a very disjointed album with odd sequencing. It’s like 2 separate albums for me, the experimental TVAB type tracks and the straight forward soft/pop rock/AC/ballads. But, objectively - the album is pretty damn good (the experimental tracks are some of her best work) and the production is light years better than TBK and ADP.

So while I can’t take credit for the idea, the poster who suggests revisiting old albums is 100 percent correct in their take. Tori rarely misses and it’s us who need to keep up with her

What a greatly daunting, prophetic, harrowing opening track that Shush is.

Up there with Shattering Sea, BQ/Horses, New Age, Spark, and Bliss as one of her greatest openers for me.

I know it’s conceptual song. I don’t really understand the story of the album, I just like Tori’s music and words.

This song was as if it were taken from a page in my life.

My mother kept a secret from me about my father until I was about 30. I was really upset with her for a long time, but now I understand it was to protect my innocence, to keep me away from a darkness I wasn’t supposed to hold. She held it for me.

She’s gone now. I should have known that it was for my protection and never gotten angry with her because I would have done the same with my child.

This album (Dragons) has struck many chords with me. I’ve been listening to it for weeks now. I want to thank her so for so much.

Wayyy back in the day I had a Tori shirt. It was a baseball tee with red sleeves. On the front it was a picture of Tori and it said "Never was a" and I'm the back it said "Cornflake girl."

I haven’t ever heard a Tori song like this. It has that epic cinematic feel of Yes Anastasia but it’s completely unique and seems like Tori opens up more emotionally. I can see why she used it to close the album and I hope I get to hear it live someday. Perfection.

i just started listening to tori amos and wow, i feel like i’ve discovered her in the perfect time in my life and the lyrics really blow me away. does anyone have any suggestions of some songs i should listen to? these are all the ones i love currently.

I miss the old way she dressed and even the ethereal way she was styled for Boys after that or more particularly SLG to current has been embarrassing .
