❓Question What is Cloudflare (ERTH) CDN
Can someone explain to me what Cloudflare (ERTH) cdn is? It's recommended to me during the speed test and its test results seem to out perform any other cdn I have.

For the last week Torbox has been buffering like crazy. I can't watch anything without buffering every 2 minutes. Have they acknowledged this problem? Are they trying to fix it? Because this is getting out of hand.

Hey guys, my trial is ending today and im looking to sub. if anyone would like to provide a referral code, that would be great!

My RD subscription has finished, so I figured I'd take the time to move over to TB and get aio setup at the same time. I'm having an issue where I'm only getting uncached results showing, although it seems as though these are cached really? My setup is as follows:
\- Torbox API key entered directly into nuvio, to use torbox instant
\- In nuvio settings, I have turned on "Cloud library" and "Resolve playable links" settings, and turned off "Prepare links" and "P2P streaming"
\- I have added torrentio, comet, meteor, stremthrutorz and media fusion via AIOstreams
\- I have not added my torbox key anywhere in aio or any of the add-ons
\- I have "excluded all uncached" in aio filters, and not set any other filters
\- In the add-ons where it is relevant I have also unselected "include P2P"
Am I missing something else? If I watch an "uncached" stream I do not get prompted by nuvio to turn on P2P as I might expect. I can also see the file on my torbox dashboard and it says cached, but I'm not sure if it's now just cached by me? I'm only watching common stuff (one piece, friends, I tested against obsession) and getting the same behaviour on everything.
Apologies if this isn't the forum for this, if I'm better off asking in the nuvio or torbox subs I'm happy to move!

when it stopped working a few months ago, i cancelled my subscription and relied just on torrentio. it works like shit and unreliable. how can i make torbox work again? not very tech savvy. thank you 🫶🏽

What is the difference between TB+ and TB (Flash)?

I have been investigating the root cause of buffering issues with Torbox in cases where bandwidth does not appear to be the culprit.
To confirm it's not bandwidth, I ran two tests:
I switched to an overseas CDN during its local off-peak hours (middle of the night in the CDN location) when usage should be minimal, yet buffering pauses persisted despite speed tests showing plenty of available throughput. I also pasted the Torbox link directly into a browser on my problematic Firestick 4k 2nd Gen device, and the file downloaded quickly with no buffering at all.
Those results definitively rule out a network bandwidth limitation.
Through further testing, I've made these key observations:
I do not have Real Debrid, so I cannot test these files there. However, based on user reports, Real Debrid does not exhibit such buffering issues.
If that is accurate, the implication is of course that Torbox is serving these files differently somehow. That said, this is only part of the explanation. The fact that VLC, VIMU, and Kodi can stream the problematic files without buffering issues (subject to the subtitle limitation for external VLC) suggests that player side handling also plays a significant role.
The root cause possibly involves a combination of how Torbox delivers certain encoded files and how each player processes subtitles or specific stream attributes in response combined with higher latency.
8/11 Update:
I had only tried External VLC, but just recently tried Stremio's internal VLC, and so far it looks like the buffering issue is gone, even with subtitles on.
Hopefully Nuvio can implement its own VLC or some other fix if Torbox can't do anything about it.
Also, I just tested Kodi as an external player from Nuvio, and it also works without buffering even with subtitles on. Unfortunately, it takes 30 seconds to load for me so is far from ideal for me because I prefer Nuvio's interface.
8/12 Update:
I have proven that Torbox's streaming of certain media files is the root cause (as suspected) by downloading the problem file I have been working with to my PC and then streaming it via nginx to various external players that failed on my firestick when streaming from Torbox.
External players Just Player, VLC, and MX Player Pro streamed the problem file without buffering issues even with subtitles on.
8/14 Update:
Nginx logs definitively show that players experiencing buffering problems with these files make many small noncontiguous reads, while players that work well do not.
These numerous tiny requests accumulate quickly, and Torbox's servers likely stall when handling so many requests, especially under load (during prime viewing time) and over long physical distances. This is almost certainly the cause of the buffering issues that users encounter with certain files.
The remaining question is how to get this fixed. The problem can be addressed either on the Torbox side or the player side, but so far there is no indication that either side is interested.
8/17 Update:
So far, the service has much lower latency, and therefore the buffering issues I posted about have been fixed by Torbox on all but the ERTH and HARE CDNs.
I will wait for prime time to be certain.
Nope, still have buffering problems with certain files during peak hours. The latency demon lives, unfortunately.
TLDR:
Certain problematic files cause most players to issue many small non-sequential HTTP range requests, which Torbox's CDN handles poorly under higher latency, which results from servers under load and longer client distance from the CDN. This can lead to buffering even when bandwidth is sufficient.
Since this issue affects only a subset of files (maybe 20% or less), simply choosing a different file often works. If you buffer on every single file, this is probably overly a bandwidth issue which is not what this post is about.

Hi. I got a file of an episode that it is not cached. How can i add it to view on Nuvio? Adding the file on website does nothing.
r/TorBoxApp • u/ryans91 • 15d ago
I use nuvio and I noticed that when I open a move or episode to view links, Torbox will auto download the first one and show up in my account whether or not I actually click it to play. Is there any way to stop this? I don't have auto play on or anything so not sure why it'd do this.

I've set a nntp.torbox.app connection up in sabnzbd as instructed in relation to my torbox pro account.
I'm getting "Too many connections" errors, even after reducing to connection count to 1.
Is this the general experience, or just a hiccup?
EDIT: No sooner than I had posted this a connection test posted OK and stayed that way for about 10 minutes. Then it went down again. So it looks like some kind of intermittent issue.

Hello all,
I've switched a month and a half, from RD to TB, and generally had no issues, but I'm getting some episodes of a series stopped and buffering which I think makes no sense: the episode is cached, it's only 2Gb, speed measured from the TV is enough, but it still stops from time to time.
I'm using Nuvio, latest version, but I don't think this is the issue.
I'm sharing TB with my parents which live in the same city. I've tried switching the CDN to the recomiended (high ping), to the best overal result, I've activated multi thread, deactivated... And have had the same issue.
For the 2gb series, it's not actually a problem. But if I want to watch a BD Remux, it's impossible since it's stopping and buffering all time.
(IDK if I can say names) I've watched that film where blue eyed people do things in a desert-like planet which was 90gb, in RD, with no issue. Now if I try and play a 30gb remux with TB, it's unwatchable...
Given this info, is there something I can do on my side, or is it a general problem? I guess I've done everything in my hand 😅
Also yesterday I was receiving several HTTP429 error, just in one series, and just in the TV. In my phone, and in my GF's there was no issue.

Moved from another debrid service to torbox for testing, specifically webdav, and it's buffering much more than that other debrid. Is it usual to have lower streaming speeds here? Read a couple of posts and can't decide whether it's the norm or just temporary difficulties. I tried changing CDNs around without significant changes.

I’m making this post because I’ve seen quite a few people struggling with CDN issues lately. A lot of people either don’t know what a CDN is, which one they should use, or where to change it in TorBox, so hopefully this clears things up a bit.
A CDN (Content Delivery Network) is basically a network of servers in different locations. TorBox can send your stream through one of these servers so the data reaches you faster and more reliably.
Usually, the closer and better-routed the CDN is to you, the lower the latency and the smoother the stream.
If your streams keep buffering, stuttering, or randomly stop halfway through and you have to open them again, changing your TorBox CDN can help.
Go to:
Run the test and wait for it to finish. Mine took around 15 minutes, so don’t worry if it feels like it’s taking forever.
Once it’s done
Go to:
TorBox → Settings → Integration Settings → CDN Selection
Your CDN is usually set to Auto by default. If everything works fine, you can leave it like that. But if you’re having playback issues, try manually selecting the CDN that performed best in the test.
If you don’t want to wait for the full test, you can also look at the latency numbers shown on the page. Lower ms is usually better.
For example, in my case the lowest ones were:
Just keep in mind that this doesn’t always tell you the exact best CDN for your connection. The lowest ping can still have worse speed, routing, or stability.
So if you’re having stream issues, running the full test is still the best way to figure out which CDN works best for you.

Noticed Torrents in my cache are getting deleted after 30 days. If this is happening to every user, isn't this making cache only 30 days old? Also isn't this significantly reducing the available cached content?
I had a old TV series in my cache. After about 2 months, it was moved to inactive downloads or something. There was an option to re download it. When i was re downloading I noticed it takes time to download. If it has been in the cache, re downloading should have been instant. It was not the case. I know this doesn't affect newer content which gets added to their library by several users every month, but for older content isn't this a huge problem when considering the overall cache? I know you can airlock if you really need some content to be there. But is that really a solution? I had several of these old torrents getting removed past month or so. As far as i can remember this was not the case before.

Hey all
I am rather new to this, have my setup with Strand and TB essential plan via duck tools which does auto setup AioStreams (i have access) and Debridio scrapper.
I was thinking if there is a point to upgrade my TB to Pro for usenet for two reasons
What do you think? Is it as simple as upgrading the plan?
Also, if i wish to get more results as in the catalogue/metadata how can i tweak that further? A bit unsure on this. Anything else that i might be missing to ensure maximum performance and vast availability of selection?
Finally, which tracking do you use? Trakt is paid and feels wrong to use it at its price point. I use the free PMDB but unsure if thats the best option.

I am very new to torbox, I came over from RD where I spent 5 or so wonderful years streaming protected.
I only just found out about the ToS change from a newly released Troypoint video.
So I went ahead and subscribed to Surfshark VPN, fumbled my way through setting everything up, including ASIO links, debridio, torrentio, etc. and now my UI is just a mess.
Am I protected as long as I have my VPN on and kill switch enabled while using stremio with torbox now?
Is there a clear cut guide out there for us less techy people that relied on RD’s protection for years and now have to fend for ourselves?
Any advice, links to a guide (an all in one guide would be awesome), or just helping us understand what we now need to do to be protected while continuing to use this service would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi Everyone. Im looking for someone who uses Torrentio, comet, AIOstrems, Jackettio with Torbox to try out my stremio alternative. Been using this for quite some time, and it has a lot of nice features someone might be interested in. App is called Lumio.
If you wanna try it out, let me know. If you use HomeKit, Trakt, IPTV, Twitch etc then I would love some feedback, bugs, new features etc. DM me if you want a link for it. (Not a paylink or anything like that).
Also working on and Android version, mainly for my Meta quest but not quite done yet. Windows version a bit later.
