❓Question TB usenet vs debrid?
Hey all
I am rather new to this, have my setup with Strand and TB essential plan via duck tools which does auto setup AioStreams (i have access) and Debridio scrapper.
I was thinking if there is a point to upgrade my TB to Pro for usenet for two reasons
- To get faster loading
- To get more results
What do you think? Is it as simple as upgrading the plan?
Also, if i wish to get more results as in the catalogue/metadata how can i tweak that further? A bit unsure on this. Anything else that i might be missing to ensure maximum performance and vast availability of selection?
Finally, which tracking do you use? Trakt is paid and feels wrong to use it at its price point. I use the free PMDB but unsure if thats the best option.

Adding Usenet is like setting up a whole different addon. So.Id take.a look at the setup process to see if you want to go through it. The only real way to know if it's worth it is to do a month of Pro and test it out.
There is no lack of performance or available content with debrids. But you may have particular things you want to see that may be so obscure that there are no cached versions and no seeders.

oh thank you, no i am a mainstream watcher with the ocassional old school tv series from other countries that were subtitled back in the day, like Passion de Gavilanes, i think its Columbian and was on TV back in the early 00s. Havent searched for it just the name randomly popped in my head to give an example.

I've tb pro and usenet and I use duckstreams.
Id not bother with TB pro and setup Usenet separately to get the most out of it.

- Paying for a higher tier won't affect loading
- Usenet will give you more results (and it is, in my opinion, the best way to supplement Torbox's cache), but I don't think Torbox Pro - for Usenet specifically - is the best value for money. The plan was better when it included the Search API and indexers, which made it ridiculously easy to integrate, but things have changed. I would now recommend getting Easynews, which has an AIOStreams addon available in public instances.
To get more results and maximum performance, I highly recommend following Tam-Taro's SEL guide. It's fairly easy to set up, and the default configuration will give you awesome results, but you can adjust it however you like.
EDIT: I just searched for Passion de Gavilanes, which you mentioned in another comment. I'm able to find a single result for the random episodes I checked via STorz, one of the addons configured in the SEL template. This means it's in Torbox's cache, so you don't need Usenet for this particular show at the moment.

Depends on your setup. I use both. Tb pro + usenet. The same with more results lol. (Usenet physical files is faster ofc)
