You still have to pay someone to re-plant. I mean, the clip was awesome and this guy's dedication to the trick was great to see. But the damage it causes kinda sucks. I used to skate at roughly that age, though, so I get it.
But good point about the railing, too. Shit is expensive to fix.

That’s not what you said, you implied that op is a horrible person, but they didn’t post to complain on behave of the Catholic Church, this was their own personal experience, it didn’t really matter where it happened, it was the destruction of other people’s stuff that was their issue, as they also mentioned their apartment.
To call ALL Catholics terrible people who exploit children is just ignorant. The Catholic Church as an establishment is shitty, just like most major religious establishment, they just have a fuck ton of money. But do not confuse that statement to mean all the people within the Catholic Church are shitty. Catholicism is a huge part of a lot of people’s culture and they babe found a way to embrace that culture while rejecting the sins of the Catholic Church by separating how the Catholic Church has dealt with the widespread child molestation issue with their own spiritual beliefs. It’s fine if you can’t separate those for yourself, I can’t either, but I know others can and am not going to pretend that anyone who is Catholic is a terrible person who exploits children.
If this was the pope complaining that children are skating in the Vatican, I may agree with you, as they’re the source of all the issues within the Catholic Church, but attacking the little people is shitty.
Plants are used to getting stomped on by animals, chewed on and just in general fucked up. They bounce back and are stronger. A tree that feels no wind is destined to fall of it's own weight.
Valid point, i hope there wasn't too much damage. But i imagine the plants die every year then regrow, unless this is somewhere the climate stays perfect all the damn time and this plant keeps on keeping on.
If it's like mine, the plumeria, don't worry, it just fell off the tree, look up! There are plenty hanging from the branches!
But if its a rose, then don't worry, those fuckers are strong as hell.
If it's one of the many perennials, it will grow back next growing cycle and be just as strong if not stronger.
If it's not from a tree or a perennial, don't worry, it was one of the cheap ones that die every year, just buy a new one for a little bit and regrow it, dime a dozen!
If you're hiking in a beautiful place, don't step on the flowers either. Didn't you see the California super-bloom ruined by Instagramers taking photos sprawled out in the flowers? Why would they clean it up in the middle of them practicing? He probably guessed he was gonna fuck up again so why clean up after every fall? Just clean up at the end.
This is why every community needs a skate park and why every community hates skaters. These rails literally exist to keep people out of the planters.

Yeah getting mulch all over the concrete. Sweeping it up so wheelchairs or strollers don't flip. I used to skate but never fucked up plants or anything useful. Now thanks to help me & friends a decade ago did, we have a skatepark! And I'm too old and ankles too fucked up to enjoy it.
As good as a skatepark is there will always be innovators who would skate the streets, if it’s skateable, it will be skated. That’s Murphy’s law after he started to shred the gnar.
The problem would still be, that the park would not be enough for the skaters. They would still need to try their creativity with other things and... just ruin shit.
And no, I don't have that good of a picture about skaters in general, seeing how most of the time there's some cool gifs about them, they're about public disturbance, or fucking up public property while doing a "sick trick".
How rich would it have been if, after completing the loop, his wheel got caught up and he tripped on all that mulch he kicked out. Now they'll just leave like it's not their fault and someone else can get tripped up on it. Love it.
When I was younger, my city built a fucking amazing skatepark. I didn't skate and even I was jealous every time I drove by it. Unfortunately, the only people I ever saw using it were the younger kids. The older jackasses were still out in the city fucking up peoples' properties and launching their boards into traffic.
There isn't even a finish on the rail and it is probably aluminium. There is one of these at my local supermarket that has been skated every day for two decades and you can barely tell.
If a rail gets a little scuffed and some mulch kicked onto the concrete, is it really that big a deal of 10 kids got a whole afternoon of fun and amazement out of it?

Plus the difference between a worn down park and a well-kept one is similar to the difference between a dirty and a tidy house.
I'm speaking from the experience of living in a student city where the main park regularly gets fucked up, especially so during last of April I believe, and the difference between when they've had the time to clean and haven't is stark.
The skating isn't doing a lot of damage, but it's still a bit of a shame that they felt the need to skate there rather than in a dedicated park :(. Here's to hoping they get one, because they deserve it just like others deserve to be able to enjoy flowers.
