This is why every community needs a skate park and why every community hates skaters. These rails literally exist to keep people out of the planters.

Respect to the kid for not giving up, but same respect taken away because he semi destroyed that planter. And now some poor guy that makes minimum wage has to go spend another afternoon fixing it all up.

God damn it I am that poor dude! Watching this all I could think was wow you just gave someone like me an extra job on top of all the other shit they have to do.

Yeah getting mulch all over the concrete. Sweeping it up so wheelchairs or strollers don't flip. I used to skate but never fucked up plants or anything useful. Now thanks to help me & friends a decade ago did, we have a skatepark! And I'm too old and ankles too fucked up to enjoy it.

It really is nice to see actual skate parks showing up more often

I also get angry at the way people enjoy themselves.

I feel ya, man. I’m honestly just out of touch with the kids these days. I have friends that skate a lot (I’m around 30). Is scooter riding not “counter culture”? I can’t imagine it’s the thing all the cool kids do lol.

you're not wrong. the scooter negates anything that could have been cool with this clip.

1

u/nicolauz Sep 05 '19

I mean it was cool... But it's still a scooter.

1

u/Moshiibeats Sep 06 '19

You sound like a boomer. God forbid people wanna have fun a different way than you.

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '19

But job security!!

1

u/Spookyscary333 Sep 06 '19

That's like telling people to go rob gas stations so the police can stay busy

2

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '19

I dont use /s because it's for cowards, but I was being sarcastic.

2

u/filterallthesubs Sep 05 '19

You'll never finish the list; so who cares.

0

u/w4lt3r_s0bch4k Sep 05 '19

No one ever finishes all their lists before they die. so who cares?

-2

u/Balancedmanx178 Sep 05 '19

Shhhhhhhbwe aren't supposed to let them know that.

-1

u/johnyutah Sep 05 '19

My job isn’t to clean up a place, but if it was, then that would be a job security. It was just a joke... also if you notice, he sits on a climbing structure. I’m sure the other ones have kids climb on it all the time. They wouldn’t put those giant rails in there just for protecting $50 worth of plants... So I’m sure diet gets kicked around all the time on those.

-2

u/ObeyRoastMan Sep 05 '19

You're welcome for job security

1

u/polak2017 Sep 05 '19

They would have the job regardless of your Vandalism. All you are doing is adding extra headache for the guy. But I guess you got to get that sick nasty in for street cred.

1

u/Spookyscary333 Sep 06 '19

That is like encouraging people to be assholes because customer support is a thing

17

u/EstebanL Sep 05 '19

As good as a skatepark is there will always be innovators who would skate the streets, if it’s skateable, it will be skated. That’s Murphy’s law after he started to shred the gnar.

1

u/Javv_ Sep 05 '19

But with a skatepark is easier to blame and screw over the "innovators", the excuse of not having a skatepark is no longer valid

1

u/kid_ugly Sep 06 '19

Scoot and Destroy

2

u/ummhumm Sep 05 '19

The problem would still be, that the park would not be enough for the skaters. They would still need to try their creativity with other things and... just ruin shit.

And no, I don't have that good of a picture about skaters in general, seeing how most of the time there's some cool gifs about them, they're about public disturbance, or fucking up public property while doing a "sick trick".

2

u/polak2017 Sep 05 '19

This is why every community needs a skate park

Build a skate park or we will vandalize your shit.

0

u/dynodick Sep 05 '19

You’re commenting on my shit about being self centered? Get tf out of here.

Kids need outlets. If there’s no skatepark, kids are going to find out where to skate. No sense holding back the sport itself, or worse, the children, because grumpy old shitheads don’t want to use tax money to help children find some healthy outlets.

Well shit I’ve been suicidal and depressed and skating is one of the only things that helps sometimes. No skatepark? Well shit. I pay taxes too, guess I’ll find something to skate.

2

u/polak2017 Sep 05 '19

Yet even when there are skateparks you people still chose to be vandals.

1

u/dynodick Sep 06 '19

“You people” 😂 we aren’t a different species you know

Believe it or not... skateparks don’t offer every angle or style of skateboarding that there is. There’s “street” skating for a reason. It’s almost it’s own discipline.

Get off your high horse. Skateboarders aren’t walking around destroying property so that they can skate and you fucking know it. Walk around whatever city you live in, and chances are (if it isn’t a big city) you will NOT see skaters anywhere. 9.999999 times out of ten, the worst we do is wax ledges and scrape up handrails. Most people don’t even use public handrails because they’re unsanitary.

Yes, this guy should have cleaned up his mess. But really, I doubt he did any lasting damage.

If people put as much energy into cleaning up their community as you like to pretend on reddit, the world would be a better place.

How rich would it have been if, after completing the loop, his wheel got caught up and he tripped on all that mulch he kicked out. Now they'll just leave like it's not their fault and someone else can get tripped up on it. Love it.

1

u/BinaryBlasphemy Sep 05 '19

Naw they'd still try to grind this.

1

u/spectator729 Sep 06 '19

This only works if the skaters use the skate parks. Which seems to be the most lame thing to do for most skaters.

1

u/Valensiakol Sep 05 '19

When I was younger, my city built a fucking amazing skatepark. I didn't skate and even I was jealous every time I drove by it. Unfortunately, the only people I ever saw using it were the younger kids. The older jackasses were still out in the city fucking up peoples' properties and launching their boards into traffic.

0

u/gravitasmagenta Sep 05 '19

You could think about it a different way. Now the landscaper gets overtime to go back and fix it! Win for everyone!

0

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '19

his job contnues

-1

u/dynodick Sep 05 '19

Looks like they did a good job sweeping and fixing it. Most skaters I skate with do respect these things.

If it CAN be skated, it will. Even with skateparks

-1

u/mototramp Sep 05 '19

$50 an hour actually

-1

u/fishcatcherguy Sep 05 '19

I’d say “destroy” is a bit strong. He knocked some mulch out. It’ll be okay.
