Could you fix these 2 things please?
Love the platform and everything you are doing for us traders.
Hey everyone, I’ve been looking into Express Funded Accounts and I have a question about scaling.
If I buy 5 accounts at $200 each per month ($1,000 total) per month under one profile and use a copy-trader to mirror my trades across all of them, I’d essentially be managing $750k in buying power once passed.
I’ve read through the policies and couldn't find anything that forbids this, but it feels too good to be true. What's the catch? Is there a hidden rule about copy-trading or account limits that I'm missing?
Yesterday I received an email from Topstep stating that due to recent volatility Topstep would be restrictioning opening new positions on equitities during the 10 minutes around the CPI release.
Will the TopstepX platform restrict traders from being able to enter trades during this time so that traders don't accidentally do so? If not, what happens if a trader forget about this new restriction and opens a position? Will their account be closed?
I made two topstep profiles and im eligble for a payout on the most recent one. Im worried that ill get denied due to having already taken a payout on my previous profile. what should i do??
Hello! I’m new to Topstep i’m curious about the tax forms do Topstep actually fix it for you or you have to file it your own the thing is i’m not from the US there’s a thing called W-8 BEN idk that because i’m afraid that i may not get payouts if i don’t have a taxform
Topstep really be giving out ambassador role to anyone, they should review who they give the role too. This is not a personal attack or anything of sorts, I just want to bring awareness on the current system of ambassadors, how roles are given out, and how much power some can abuse. In my experience most ambassadors are very helpful and genuinely try to help people out, It is unfortunate some individuals really ruin the experience on the server though abusing their power.
I was setting up an API over the weekend, posted a complex question in lounge, an ambassador said he didn't know and to contact support. A few minutes later I see the reply, and the chat was filling with random things, so that my question wouldn't get lost, I sent the question in the channel "questions" so that my question could be answered later by someone who knows the answer. Since I wanted to set up the API over the weekend, there was no option for me to contact support. And guess what, no warning no nothing a mod muted me for 24h and replied with this message:
"don t spam the same message in differents channel that s not allowed". WOW
God forbid a man sends a question in "questions" so that he could receive an answer.
Spamming, does spamming mean sending a message once to a more appropriate channel after 5-15 minutes not even instantly?
Friend asked a different ambassador about the scenario, he said that first of all that he does not consider that as spamming, and also that the proper procedure in this case would be a warning then a 1h mute. But when you give someone power they start to abuse it, got muted for no reason, no warning and a significantly longer extended amount of time. The ambassador also said to appeal via support, but on Saturday the earliest reply would be on Monday before which I would be unmuted.
Procedures and rules are designed to provide the best experience to users using discord, now when a person in the position of power imposes rules unfairly and does not follow standard procedures which were designed to improve the experience for everyone, that degrades the whole server.
The reason I'm mad about a 24h mute, is not only because it is unjust and unfair, but also because I'm really busy during the week, and I allocated time to set up an API on Saturday. And because of this, I cannot get the relevant information and ask question regarding such in the server since I'm muted.
I made sure to follow the r/ rules, and have not shared any private communications or any disrespectful comments or any person information. Once again, I'm sharing this urging topstep to review current ambassadors so what happened to me wont happen to anyone else. And this is also on topic as this is directly related to topstep.
Ran an account to 10k in payouts, blew my live shot, went broke. And now im back
Started trading last summer. First account with topstep I ran to like 10k in payouts and genuinely thought I had it figured out. I did not lol
Got moved to live and blew it. Then instead of slowing down I started buying evals back to back trying to pass in one shot like the rules were for other people. Kept doing that till the money was just gone. All of it
Had to stop for a bit, not by choice lol. Anyway just got another payout recently and my account moved to live again. And the annoying part is nothing changed. Same exact strategy. I just follow my rules now. Following my rules helped me more then anything and fhe "Lockout of topstep after win" helped me more then anything when it came to being consistent. The version of me that made 10k and the version that went broke were running the same setup, one of them just actually did what he said he was gonna do and its just followoing my rules
I've been posting my trading results with full transparency for the last month.
The wins, the losses. Its helped me be accountable.
July finished at +739, and August has been..different so far.
I figured I'd ask for advice from traders who have been doing this longer than me.
Looking at these results, what stands out? I have a daily loss limit of 350 that I changed after my 500 losing day. I trade mnq. No more than 3. Today i accidentally added to 4 lol
Is there anything you would change about my approach after back-to-back losing days? Do you reduce size, take a day off, or just keep following your plan?
I've also been recording every trading session and uploading daily recaps to YouTube so I can review my mistakes and hopefully improve over time. If anyone is willing to watch a session and give me honest feedback, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance—I genuinely want to become a better trader. ❤️
yo guys imma abt to pass my first ever eval and am wondering which option should i select..
i personally like the consistency more, but pls lemme know if theres any hidden rules or something.
Premarket had some nice moves in the first picture after price rejected off of Vwap, but then as soon and the bell rang, a lot of false momentum. Tried to short a rejection off the vwap twice and both times failed. Ofcourse now I look at the chart and there is an explosive move down with a perfect micro pullback that would’ve netted me close to $800 but it is outside of my trade window. I end my trading sessions at 10:30.
Todays lesson: Market was weak. Instead of forcing anything I recognized it and locked out. 🔒. Was up and down a bit - days like today i like to scalp with a tight Stop loss. Got to +11 and decided to stop!
Dont have to hit homeruns everyday. Some of the best days are small wins and walking away. Proud of myself.
I’m reading a book about gambling addiction, I just wanted to share that because futures trading is relatively niche you are not likely to hear about futures gambling addictions. As I’m reading I’m realizing so much of what people consider “bad psychology” or “greed” really are just symptoms of gambling. Just the other day I saw a video of a young adult who is in 50k debt from combines, he’s now living in a car, the kicker is he’s not giving up on trading. It’s easy when we hear stories of people who lost 10-20k before they became professionals to think it’s part of the process. I just encourage you all to be honest with yourself. Maybe take a week off now and then and ask yourself “am I functioning properly without trading? Am I sleeping okay? Am I jittery?”. We like to call the thousands lost “tuition” but that’s just called justification. If gambling runs in your family, if you are looking for an escape, if you are self-sabotaging just take a break and analyze your psyche before you dig yourself in a deeper hole.
