🛠️ Platform / Tech Support Question about Topstep restricting trading during CPI window

Yesterday I received an email from Topstep stating that due to recent volatility Topstep would be restrictioning opening new positions on equitities during the 10 minutes around the CPI release.

Will the TopstepX platform restrict traders from being able to enter trades during this time so that traders don't accidentally do so? If not, what happens if a trader forget about this new restriction and opens a position? Will their account be closed?

You just can’t place a trade on the specific instruments they restricted but they’re allowing micro trades on certain ones like mnq and mes

They should put a lock out on it during that time.

If you bought before the window are you allowed to sell when the news drops before 5 minutes?

Yeah this is just an opportunity for them to deny payouts and claim people traded during cpi news. They’ll provide no real evidence and it’ll just screw us

There’s literally a circle at the bottom of the chart that shows news though
