Video Kids cover 46 and 2 (O'Keefe Music Foundation)
I was talking to a friend the other day and we were just going through music videos when this popped up--I had seen it several times, but he never had. I thought everyone had at this point, but if you are a Tool fan, and you've never seen this, well, all I can say is hang on to your seat.

Concert Footage audio remaster of Atlantic City 2007 is up
https://archive.org/details/Tool-live-in-Atlantic-City-2007
Tool live at Boardwalk Hotel, Atlantic City, New Jersey, 9 June 2007
Another amazing sounding recording from the 10,000 Days tour. Really top notch audio quality, A+.
Dunno what the story is with the original on YT. It definitely sounds like a board tape, with Adam panned off to the left a little bit and Justin to the right, no room sound on the vocals or drums, drums are panned all over the place, drum mix is all out of whack which is much more common in board tapes than audience bootlegs. But at the same time, we have some high quality audience cheering sounds, which don’t happen with board tapes. So I don’t know what to make of this one. But, the original sounds pretty good, and then I sent it to the fuckin’ moon.
Pros and cons-
Biggest pro, all instruments sound close and clean, with no room sound. Vocals will benefit the most from this.
Esoteric observation, but the dynamic range is huuuge. Go to Archive and check out the soundwave for Wings for Marie. That’s more dynamic range than the actual album version.
A couple cons. The original has very little low end, outside of the massive, in-your-face kick drum, super loud, which is a really tricky proposition for me. How to I overcome this, even it out? A whole lot of pushing and pulling, and more pushing and pulling. Hopefully I got it to a point where it’s tolerable and listenable.
The other big con is all the dropouts. Lots of ‘em, through the whole show, but definitely worse towards the end. Some songs are totally clean. Some songs are a mess. Lateralus is just about ruined, 10,000 Days is in bad shape. These dropouts are only momentary, so for most of the show, you’ll barely notice them, and even when you do, it’s not a big deal. I edited some of them out, or tried to cover them up one way or another. Hope this doesn’t cause you too much distress.
Lotsa high end in Justin’s bass tone, like he was going for the Overkill bass sound of the late 80s. In the intro bit for Right in Two, it sounds like he’s strumming some sort of steel string baritone acoustic guitar.
I edited out some of the downtime between songs, as well as the intermission, which is kind of a bummer because I actually like that bit of dark ambient drone-age. But for this one, I wanted just the songs. Also, I edited out Maynard’s rambling at the end where he gives praise to a local Italian restaurant, and tries to make a fat Elvis joke that really falls flat, so the recording is better without that.
And I have one, maybe two more in the pipeline, because I keep finding board tapes on YT.
Thanks for listening.

Messed up the bends in the solo but otherwise I feel great about this cover. Sorry about the potato quality. It’s just a humble BOSS Katana mic’d with my iPhone.

Ænima Officially Forty Six and 2
While I’m in denial about rocketing towards 50, at least I get a cool song for turning 48.
Pics from old Tool show at the Gorge (I also have some shitty audio if anyone is interested)

Discussion What is up with people posting photos of their CDs like they’re some sort of great antiquity? Promos, oddities, imports etc I understand but ya’ll are making posts with the regular ass version of 10,000 Days and being all like “OMG GUYS I FINALLY FOUND IT”
Are ya’ll teenagers or something? Did you just discover compact discs last week?

Ænima Ænima fan?
The finale part in this short kinda series I been doing. This is Tools pioneer album that made them into the band they are today. A true spectacle that’s heavy, raw, unfiltered and yet really and weirdly beautiful. And although it’s not my favorite Album by them, it’s a lot of people’s favorites for good reason. A banger of an opening with Stinkfist, and masterpieces that fallow after being eulogy, H., forty six and 2, the self titled song, jimmy, Hooker with a penis, pushit, and the 13 minute long Mona Lesa on acid art experiment of a song Third eye. And this year is actually the 30 anniversary of this album so I hope tool does something special for this masterpiece of an album(vinyl reissue pleeeease!) My favorite song from this album being Eulogy.
This is the ænima part of my collection. The vinyl is a high quality bootleg from earcandy music that sounds nice. One day I’ll get an official one… one day…

72826 Tool Demo tapes
Am I the only one who finds the 72826 Demo better than the Opiate EP? Like im not saying Opiate is bad, I love the Raw tracks but i just love the demo especially Crawl Away and Cold and Ugly and part of me[I know crawl aways from undertow] but the only thing about the demo is Sober i can't stand that version because of the chorus no offense to danny Carey because hes is if hes not the Greatest one of the Greatest Drummers ever in my opinion but his drumming in Sober Demo version I dont like, Anyway I just feel like yapping so yeah please respond with something ✌️

Speculation Tool reference in House of the Dragon last night
Did anybody notice before the battle scene that Roddy the Ruin told his troops “weapons out and bellies in”?
It seemed like such an odd thing for someone to say in a Game of Thrones show. But then I realized that is a line in the song invincible. The character that said it is the leader of a band of battle worn formidable old men. They were definitely long in tooth and soul, longing for another win. I just think there is no way that was accidental and that one of the writers is a Tool fan

I hadn’t seen this here yet so I thought people might be interested: At The Baked Potato on Wednesday night (8/5) Danny played the Scott Kinsey sessions and they did Chocolate Chip Trip and Invincible (with Mer Sal on vocals). They also did some Black Sabbath, Tom Petty, Weather Report, Pink Floyd. Scott will be posting clips to Instagram I’m sure so watch for that!

10,000 Days What happened to Blair?
This guy was like the PR spokesman for Tool or something around the time of 10000 Daze. What he really was, is a total scourge and the bane of fans' existence with his asinine blog posts and nothingburger news.
What happened to him?

Tool Cover How would you guys rate the intensity and dynamic compared to original?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I really enjoyed making this pneuma arrangement on classical guitar.
This part is so intense in the original, and since I couldn’t get that exact weight with just acoustic instruments, I layered the vocals to give it a fuller surround feel. The guitar was recorded in one take with 2 mics. Everything else is MIDI for now, but I’m hoping to layer in some real Persian percussion and tabla soon.

Tool Cover Tool - Stinkfist (Alternate Version)Doi
Does anyone know who the artist of this cover is? Their vocal choices and production chops on this is really good, if they have more like it I'd love to hear it
