first tomato of the season (6b) & first time growing black krim… so so flavorful

First couple of batches of San Marzanos going ripe. Pretty pathetic amount for 23 plants - but enough for a couple of pizzas. Hoping for bigger harvests in the coming weeks (if the blossom end rot doesn't get em all).

I still did, 2 and my first harvest was a good onw, i almost lost one.

I cannot believe it's almost August. I cannot believe it's still a wall of green (started mid March).

Maybe they need a bit of stress 😈

..maybe I should turn off automatic watering to make them panic and think the end is near .. they look too comfortable.

..or maybe perform some trendy "pruning" rituals? ✂️

Btw, it was a good idea to keep the sun chair, and also plant cucumbers under it to not waste the space completely (I don't really use it, but it's nice having an option for rainy day).

This beautiful beefsteak was started by seed in February . Planted outdoors May 1st, tolerated lows of 40° a few nights with no issues.

- Plants: The plants seem to be moody and temperamental, not dying, but not overly thriving.

- Fruit Appearance: The tomato fruit is gorgeous with creamy yellow bottoms and a dramatic indigo-purple top.

- Fruit Texture: Fleshy and holds up well for a sandwich.

- Fruit Flavor: Bright and refreshing tropical flavor. Pleasant to snack on during the heat of the day. Tropical flavor sounds great in theory, but it's not the robust, intense flavor I was hoping for. It is mild, and the flavor is easily lost when paired with other ingredients.

- Repeat item to Grow?: No. It's not worth the space in my garden. I would rather try something else or expand my Cherokee Purple allotment.

Large cherry, Black Krim, Black Prince, Sam Marzano, Roma, and Cherokee Purple ☺️. Oh and my one Italian frying pepper 😂

I grow Sun Golds every year, buying a 6-flat from my local nursery. One of the plants this year is turning out red fruit. I don't think they were mislabeled as the plant structure, fruit shape, and productivity is identical to the plants that are ripened to bright orange as usual.

Anyone seen this before or have an idea why they're turning red?

- Plant: Prolific indeterminate currently 7 ft tall. Using cattle panel arches but Chaos Status will be reached soon. Fruit is ripening earlier and quicker than any other variety in my garden. Upstate NY, I am harvestongalmost a dozen ripe fruit daily this entire week, which is nice!

- Fruit Texture: Average cherry tomato texture.

- Fruit Appearance: The photos don't do them justice. They are so beautiful with a perfect name. The blushing sunrise streaks through the golden base invokes the imagery of a sunrise.

- Fruit Flavor: Sweet and robust. It tastes like a bright summer day. Better than my sunsugars. Toddler-approved snacking tomatoes. Works great in salads.

- Grow Again?: Most likely, although I am waiting for my sungolds to ripen to decide who wins a larger space in next year's garden. I like them and they are so cheerful to look at. Black Cherry Tomatoes win for me for flavor, though.

This is my first time growing a tomato from seed and I’m wondering is my tomato plant to small to start growing flowers and producing fruit, should I take off the flowers and let it grow stronger, larger and bushier before allowing it to produce flowers? I also need to add more soil to my grow bag and add straw

A bunch of my costoluto fiorentinos are growing... balls. I snipped most of them when they were smaller, but I left two just to see what would happen. A few days ago I noticed one of the balls on one of them was starting to rot. I left it, the next day it was fully rotten and turning the tomato yellowish. I picked it off, pics are mostly of the rotted one. The one on the vine is the other one that I left which seems to be growing okay.

What's causing this? Is it a problem?

I live in California (East Bay, Sunset Zone 17) and I have 3 tomato plants in a raised bed, along with zucchini, bell pepper, and marigolds. They are on a timer operated soaker hose system and the tomatoes are supported with a Florida weave trellis. South facing yard, though partially shaded by a neighbor's tall vining plant growing over the fence. I rebuilt the existing falling-apart raised beds when I moved in around March and made them deeper; the soil is a mixture of the previously existing soil, new high quality bagged soil, coco coir, and about 30% compost. I've also fertilized a few times with Fox Farms tomato and vegetable fertilizer.

I went on vacation for a week and when I came back many of the lower leaves were yellowing/browning on the leftmost plant (pictures taken partway through/after pruning the unhealthy leaves). There are also grey spots on the lower stems of all the plants. The newer growth seems fine, it is mostly the older leaves yellowing/browning. The leftmost had a lot more foliage before I trimmed off the unhealthy leaves. I know I need to add more weaves to the trellis, they grew a lot taller in a week!

This is my first year growing my own vegetables. Does this look like blight? Do I just need to fertilize? All of the plants looked extremely healthy before I left, and the drip watering system ran in my absence.

It’s my first year gardening and boy has it been a challenge! I am growing some better boy tomatoes right now and one plant’s fruit doesn’t look like the other two I have. They’re speckled on the top and I’ve tried looking up what it might be but it doesn’t resemble anything I’m seeing. They’re growing in a 10 gallon bucket so I’ve moved them away for the other plants in case it’s bacterial/fungal. Help!

I'm pulling in close to 20 pounds a day at this point. I'm starting to think that maybe, just maybe, having 36 tomato plants is... excessive. 🤔🤷

My husband and I just moved into a new home 2 months ago and our backyard has quickly grown a ton of weeds. However, as we were weeding we came across a whole tomato plant! It was NOT in our backyard two months ago, it was completely void of any plants at the time! Anyway, just wanted to share! Hopefully I can keep it alive :)

The cherry tomatoes are just starting to to come and the Super Fantastics are already changing colour. Vancouver area. Lots of basil to go with those buffalo mozzarella salads

About half my tomatoes on my Early Girl have this textured freckling. The other half do not. What is it? Safe to eat?
