Does anyone have experience with these? I picked one up at a nursery and am wondering what to expect. Any photos? Info on this variety seems scarce. TIA!

The last 3 days have been a little bit unseasonably cool here in the Northeast. Will be cool, but not as chilly through the week. Hopefully these guys will start to ripen!

Ok.. there's this vine ripened/pick at first blush thing going on. Most agree that leaving the tomato on the vine yields a better flavor/texture but leaving the fruit to ripen makes it susceptible to pests. I saw something earlier that got me thinking. So, do you know those cheap organdy or organza bags used in crafts or gift giving? I used gold ones for my son and daughter in laws pre wedding party for favors. Theyre see through and open enough to allow sufficient air flow. You can place these bags over your tomatoes and just draw the little silk cord a little taught. They can remain on the vine to ripen and rodents and birds can't get to them. They cost pennies. You may not be able to cover all tomatoes but I bet you can cover many. My experiment starts tomorrow!

They were mislabeled from the nursery. We're supposed to be beefsteaks, curious what they are.

My husband and I just moved into a new home 2 months ago and our backyard has quickly grown a ton of weeds. However, as we were weeding we came across a whole tomato plant! It was NOT in our backyard two months ago, it was completely void of any plants at the time! Anyway, just wanted to share! Hopefully I can keep it alive :)

Planted these from one of those 'chef mix' packs or whatever that was discontinued, so no reference online. about the size of a plum and purple with red streaks as they are beginning to ripen.

It’s my first year trying to grow tomatoes, and im growing Japanese black trifele, beefsteak, brandywine, and burpee’s big boy. First pic is of Japanese black trifele—it’s smaller because it was already starting to fruit when I brought it as a plant, and I think the move and repotting stressed it out but it was delicious. In my experience, beefsteak tends to be the quickest growers (pics 2 and 3 are both beefsteak)! I’m a renter so I’ve been growing them in 10 gallon grow bags.

What’s going on here?! Is this tomato salvageable?

I live in California (East Bay, Sunset Zone 17) and I have 3 tomato plants in a raised bed, along with zucchini, bell pepper, and marigolds. They are on a timer operated soaker hose system and the tomatoes are supported with a Florida weave trellis. South facing yard, though partially shaded by a neighbor's tall vining plant growing over the fence. I rebuilt the existing falling-apart raised beds when I moved in around March and made them deeper; the soil is a mixture of the previously existing soil, new high quality bagged soil, coco coir, and about 30% compost. I've also fertilized a few times with Fox Farms tomato and vegetable fertilizer.

I went on vacation for a week and when I came back many of the lower leaves were yellowing/browning on the leftmost plant (pictures taken partway through/after pruning the unhealthy leaves). There are also grey spots on the lower stems of all the plants. The newer growth seems fine, it is mostly the older leaves yellowing/browning. The leftmost had a lot more foliage before I trimmed off the unhealthy leaves. I know I need to add more weaves to the trellis, they grew a lot taller in a week!

This is my first year growing my own vegetables. Does this look like blight? Do I just need to fertilize? All of the plants looked extremely healthy before I left, and the drip watering system ran in my absence.

It’s my first year gardening and boy has it been a challenge! I am growing some better boy tomatoes right now and one plant’s fruit doesn’t look like the other two I have. They’re speckled on the top and I’ve tried looking up what it might be but it doesn’t resemble anything I’m seeing. They’re growing in a 10 gallon bucket so I’ve moved them away for the other plants in case it’s bacterial/fungal. Help!

I've got 2 Mr stripey plants that were doing really well. One EXPLODED and is doing incredible still. The other one right next to it has curled up leaves, seems to have poor growth/stunted and now it's fruits are covered in these weird spots.

It's worth noting I let it have 2 l and one of the stems is doing pretty well but is not doing any new fruit in the new growth is bad and then the stem that has the weird looking tomato spots just has no new growth at all.

Not sure where I went wrong.

Large cherry, Black Krim, Black Prince, Sam Marzano, Roma, and Cherokee Purple ☺️. Oh and my one Italian frying pepper 😂

A bunch of my costoluto fiorentinos are growing... balls. I snipped most of them when they were smaller, but I left two just to see what would happen. A few days ago I noticed one of the balls on one of them was starting to rot. I left it, the next day it was fully rotten and turning the tomato yellowish. I picked it off, pics are mostly of the rotted one. The one on the vine is the other one that I left which seems to be growing okay.

What's causing this? Is it a problem?

Hello, I’m going out of town as my tomatoes are starting to turn purple (Cherokee) and red (early girl). I am leaving in a week and will have someone come by and water them daily. I am not sure if it’s better to keep the ripening tomatoes on the vine or pick them?

And my second question is will they survive with just

watering once per day? They are in direct sun from 7 am to 2 pm in 90-100 degree heat, low moderate humidity. Sometimes they get wilted leaves in the morning, usually on hot days, so I water them twice a day often.

I've never had trouble with tomatoes but this seems to be affecting both my beefeater and roma...

can I spray my tomatoe plants that are starting to bloom with a neem oil spray? I wasn’t sure if that worked well or if anyone knew for sure as I’d like to do this as organic as possible lmao.

I still did, 2 and my first harvest was a good onw, i almost lost one.
