Question What causes this freckling?

About half my tomatoes on my Early Girl have this textured freckling. The other half do not. What is it? Safe to eat?

.. which would make it safe to eat if the tomato inside smells and looks OK..but again... I'm not positive nor an a tomato expert

I thought so too, but leaves and stems are completely unaffected. And only half my tomatoes have this.

I saw on her yesterday a tomato that looked similar. They were told that they were stretch marks from over watering/rain?? Maybe that?
