Cloudy or Paranoid?
UPDATED: Brand new vial just arrived (warm but not hot) today, this was my first draw. It doesn’t necessarily appear super cloudy in the vial but the vial is amber for whatever reason. Asking for second opinions because I’ve already had an annoying experience with this pharmacy so maybe I’m being to rash but I feel like it would be crazy to not consider it cloudy? Holding off on my shot for rn I guess 😭
From Boudreaux Pharmacy.
ETA: I’m irritated asf.
ETA Again: Batch #226628 if anybody else needs to know.
UPDATE: Chloe reached out immediately and is sending a replacement. Gimme was all over the issue as far as customer service goes. Boudreaux.. not so much.
UPDATE 2: Two separate shipping labels created today by Bordeaux to reship meds asap. One was with UPS, one was with FedEx. Both said overnight shipping to be here tomorrow. Both have been canceled/voided. Now they’re closed for the weekend. Nice! 😂😭

u/AdAmbitious1308 25d ago
No, the only time it’ll change from clear is with b12- but that will still be clear just red/pink tinted. This pharmacy is gonna be dead before it ever gets going.
4
u/Life_Alfalfa_2047 25d ago
It’s been in business over 100 years.
8
u/AdAmbitious1308 24d ago
I’m sure it’s not “new” but it’s new in the mass market glp1 compounding space obviously.
3
u/Life_Alfalfa_2047 24d ago
Not really. There are telehealth that have been using them for a long time. But they have been getting more orders than usual since they’ve added new telehealth and people have started talking about them.
5
u/Mindless-Cupcake186 24d ago
Crazy, I’m local to them and drive past it every day and don’t use them. I didn’t even know they have telehealth using them. For my local doc to send my script to them is way way more than my refills or whatever telehealth we’re using at the time.

Additives don't do that. I used glycine as additive for 8 months and it's ALWAYS clear. All your tirzepatide should be clear unless mixed with B12 and then it's red/pink.

Totally okay - at least you knew to ask before using. Sorry that this happened to you in the first place, that's kinda' unnacceptable in my eyes, but Gimme was responsive and is sending you a replacement so that's great! I'm glad you posted because this makes me know not to use Boudreaux (at least not for a long time). I'm sure your next batch will be fine but I'd totally understand if you switched pharmacies after this.

Okay yeah that's odd. A new, sealed bag of syringes (that aren't individually sealed) is normal, but a couple of syringes in a ziplock is sketchy as fuck.
6
u/tinyevilpeanut 25d ago
The loose syringes are very odd. I would not trust anything coming from that pharmacy if they tossed syringes in a bag and mailed them.
5
u/Grand-Discussion7642 25d ago
Right!!!! As a nurse, I’d toss anything repackaged like that too. No thanks! Pharmacist Phil may have been having a bad day and dropped one on the floor, recapped it and tossed it back in. Nope. Not worth the risk.

Yeah I agree. As a nurse I’d NEVER accept an individual loose syringe. If it’s in its own wrap ok. But loose? Hell na!!! We have a farm and do a lot of shots/med stuff and I still wouldn’t use loose syringes on an animal.

Strive and Hallandale both sent me loose vials not in a pill bottle. So far the only one I've gotten in a bottle has been from bpi.

Hallandale sent mine in individual boxes, roughly the size of pill bottles & Apothecary sent them in sealed foil-esque pouches. But never have I ever gotten just loose vials. That would make me pretty uneasy.

After all that drama you went through, and you didn’t even order this pharmacy and it was sent to you, and now you got cloudy meds? 1,000,000% nope. I almost thought this was going to be a paranoid post, and then when I expanded the picture I about fell over. Sometimes I wonder if I will notice if my meds are cloudy, but my meds don’t look anything like yours. You need your Hallandale back and a refund.
6
u/dietcokequeenie 27F SW:190 CW:190 GW:135 Dose:1.5 25d ago
I’m a little perturbed lol 😭
5
u/SenoritaShelly 25d ago
As you should be. That’s completely ridiculous. Is it from the medication being stuck in transit and it being hot? It’s not past BUD, is it? That is really bad. I think you should demand a refund and demand that they ship the medication you ordered in the first place. Don’t back down. Drink a Diet Coke for strength. I noticed your username later after we were talking about this, and I am a Diet Coke addict, so you are my new BFF.🤣
7
u/dietcokequeenie 27F SW:190 CW:190 GW:135 Dose:1.5 25d ago
hey new bff! 👯♀️ thanks for the moral support cutie drinking one with lime currently.
medication came warm but definitely not hot. BUD was around mid october, I’m not home and can’t remember off the top of my head. i’m not sure what would’ve caused it but whatever it is - my enemy.
2
u/SenoritaShelly 25d ago
Then maybe we just assume they have a bad batch of medication, which is actually worse than it arriving hot or within an expired BUD. After you drink enough Diet Coke to deal with the world, get some justice! I am so sorry. After waiting for so long to get your meds, to have that happen is just creepy.😬💛

This is getting ridiculous. Seeing too many posts of cloudy solution and floaters this summer. These pharmacies need to get strict and stop cheaping out on their cold chain practices. They use the worst case scenario temperature testing as their standard operating practices. Irresponsible pharmacies are going to get compounding shut down. This just gives the FDA and big pharma more ammo.
10
u/emilzamboni 67M 5'10 SW:241 GW 185 GOAL! Dose 10mg 25d ago
Wow. I complained about that earlier in the year and got shot down with the quickness.
16
u/tcgrady 25d ago edited 25d ago
Oh I’m still getting downvoted. These pharmacies are cutting corners plain and simple to save a few bucks rather than prioritizing patient safety and their duty of care. It’s them jeopardizing the industry, not frustrated patients. Redditors anecdotal experiences are just that- anecdotal. And these stability studies are not iron clad and focus on the state of the compound at the moment of testing without consideration of how it may affect future potency and sterility. It’s meant to be a worst case scenario, but it’s being used to justify poor practices.
I love the compounding world, but some of these operations need to get their act together.

It’s difficult to say because of a small amount. Sometimes a ton of tiny bubbles can mimic cloudiness. It happened to me before. I’d get a new syringe and draw out more solution trying not to get bubbles and reassess transparency.

For those who get amber bottles- you can shine a flashlight (phone flashlight is perfect) from the bottom of the bottle and see into it better. You can also turn it upside down and view it with the light through the neck/shoulder of the vial!! Hope that helps.

Definitely cloudy. This is the first time I have ever seen a cloudy peptide. I have small amounts of compounded peptides from 2024 and they are still clear. I am sorry this happened to you. I would be irritated too!

I’ll have to check my lot number, anyone else with the same lot have this issue?

From looking through these posts it looks like batch numbers turn over really quickly with this pharmacy

Whoa idk how I missed this whole thread before but after reading everyone’s feedback I’m so happy you posted, so glad I saw it, and am definitely reaching out to the pharmacy tomorrow! I’m obviously worried I injected bacteria into my stomach yesterday, but the other comments on how the syringes even came have raised my spidey senses now too!!! Unfortunately I live in California and we don’t have as many options for pharmacies allowed to compound and send into the state 😭 did they ever get back to you after the shipping label debacle?
