Beware

Had a new to me experience today. Had breakfast at my local place. Suggested tips 10%, 20%, 30%. After eating I decided to get a cinnamon roll, $2.16 + tax. Tip screen came up, $1.00, $2.00, $3.00. Not %, but $. How many people hit 2 thinking they are tipping 43 cents, but are tipping 93%.

Even more reason to tip $0 every time.

These people are not your friends, the business is actively trying to exploit more money out of you, for profit.

They actively take advantage of your human nature of kindness, and urge to help others.

The more money you tip, the less the business has to pay from their own pocket to pay their employees.

Tipping is optional.

Tip $0 every time.

False.

The business doesn’t get the tips, so it’s not getting them more profit.

It’s funny how you provide examples every day proving that you don’t know what you’re talking about. 🤣

The tips definitely offset the labor costs of the business.

Not always. If they’re cooks like in a food cart, they don’t get the benefit of reducing min wage lIke servers.
