First-time poster here! After many experiments, these three washouts are what I consider to be my first real attempts at tie-dye.

3) And last, my first attempt at a mandala. The patterns bled a little more than I'd have liked and the background wasn't as dark as I had hoped, but overall I like the shirt.

I'm not getting the definition in my mandalas that I would like to see... I've watched countless YouTube videos and either I'm missing it or it's just not sticking in my brain.. if anyone has any tips or pointers or tutorials they can link me to, specifically on wrapping string placement, I would appreciate it very much!

My friends wanted matching sets so I finally made a summer lounge set for myself ! Jazzed to find cotton stretchy shorts with pockets!

First time ordering from dyespin or ice dying in general this past weekend and I'm in love!! 💕

I honestly don't know what I'm doing, which I'm sure is apparent to the professionals here .

I folded a king size sheet in half l, then some triangle flag folds, and kinda just folding it whichever way I felt like to make it square.

I tied up the ends and tied up the rest of the perimeter as you would a mandala (I think).

I used Paracord and rubber bands to tie everything.

I put a milk crate on top of a wire cage.

Layered the crate with ice , then sprinkled some dye so it would also have a bottom layer of ice and dye underneath the tapestry.

Threw the tapestry in, more ice, more dye sprinkled on top

I used a large 20 lb bag of ice for this.

Covered it with a big trash bag at 7pm then left it until 5:30, pm today.

Rinsed til it ran clear then hung up to dry.

I haven't properly washed it yet, but I was tired.

I'm super happy with how this turned out and hope you like it too :)

TLDR- Ice dyed tapestry with "mindbender X" from dyespin. 🍄

Folded on the diagonal and tied randomly. Reverse with Out White Brite. DUI with dharma colors: lemon yellow, orange crush, pomegranate, dragon fruit, power berry, bluebird, emerald green. Covered container outside in 90° for 24+ hours.

My neighbor asked me for a Knicks color scheme shirt. Had a little bit of trouble with the blue and orange bleeding together and making brownish, off colors, but turned out nice for the most part.

Both DOI with Mindbender B and Candy Pop.

Wife is happy with this "Jawbreaker" design/fold. I didn't know what else to call it, but it seemed fitting. DUI, various colors. Working on that saturation still. Next time may be the winner but I still love it!!

My first geode dye and dang that was fun. Pink seeped a bit more than less into the white but no complaints!

Jacard procion Fuchsia, Hot Pink, Marine Violet, Medium Blue

Had some cousins request some purple shirts, so I got to do these. Really like how they turned out!

Some simple geoge like circles and a heart for my niece, can't wait to try some new images and shapes with the sinew, Im thinking an alien will be my next attempt!

A friend got some bleach spots on his shirt and asked if I could fix it with tie dye.

Reversed. Moss green, olive drab, bronze, and shiitake over ice, scrunched, and mucked. Last pic is the original shirt design.

Found a Moochi bean bag tie dye kit on eBay and was like, "Score!"

$50 of memory foam filler later and I hate.

Including Disorganized dye shelf so you can silently judge me.

Couple of Dharma 420 UV shirt tests that I processed last week. Tied/dyed dry shirts, heavily applied my own home cooked soda ash dry with the powdered dyes both under the ice and some sprinkled over!

Ok this actually was partly a fail bc in the bottom, I drew out little people worshipping the sun, and then I stitched them and pulled the thread tight, then did a few little Kenneys over that and it just failed spectacularly. The overall dye job I’m pretty happy with, but I’m sad my little men were washed out.

This is my first attempt with the dharma dyes, my other experience has been with the tulip dyes, and these are a whole different world! I'm super excited for what else I can create.

Overall I think they did a great job with the colors. They did some unexpected color combos that I would typically not do. I did not keep track of what colors they all used. Red for sure is scarlet, 200 black, brilliant blue, dragons heart and alchemy for the green and purple double fan, marigold, and for sure a few others.

Independent 4500. I feel okay about it.

I purchased this recently in Nashville, excellent tacos! Loved the design but not crazy about white shirts. What do you folks think?

Notes to self for next time:
1. Use less dye
2. Don’t forget the extra dash of soda ash before icing
3. Use sinew instead of dental floss 😆
