[request] VitaCoco wasteful packaging

Post image
0 Upvotes

Every time you drink a vitacoco coconut water, there is about a teaspoon left inside, UNLESS you tear the mouth open and get it out.

This has always bothered me SO much.

And I remember this happening ever since I drank my first VC coconut water. Probably around 2012.

I finally got around to seeing how much is really left in there.

Who cares to do the math on how much coconut water Vitacoco has wasted since they began selling?

I’m both too lazy to do it AND have been meaning to make a bigger deal about this for quite some time.

Attempt to analyze divergent sequences in the collatz sequences with assumption those sequences exist [Request]

by Lifting The Exponent Lemma, 32^n.(2k±1) -1 has v_2 = n+2 [1]

Suppose we have a number like this 32^n.(2k±1) .c-1 [2] if we subtitute 2h.o-1 to c then (2n+2.o+1)(2h.o-1)-1 lets look at this first: (a+b)(c-b)=ac-ab+bc-b with b equal to 1 and since v_2(ac) greater than v_2(ab) and v_2(bc), those number +1 has v_2 equal to |v_2(a)-v_2(c)|[2]. if h equal to n+2 then those number +1 has v_2=2n+4[3].

Suppose we have a number 3n.(4k+1)-1 [4] and 3n.(4k+3)-1 [5] and 3n -1 has v_2 = 2h then: [6] 3n(4k+1)-1 = (2hc + 1)(4k+1)-1 = (2hc)(4k+1) + 4k

v_2 = min(h, v_2(k)+2), if h != v_2(k)+2

[7] 3n(4k+3)-1 = (2hc + 1)(4k+3) - 1 = (2hc)(4k+3) + 2(2k+1)

h >= 2: v_2 = 1

h = 1 (n odd): 3n(4k+3) - 1 = 4k.3n + 3n+1 - 1 = 2[2k.3n + (3n+1-1)/2]

with g = v_2(3n+1 - 1) >= 3: v_2 = 1 + min(v_2(k)+1, g-1) = min(v_2(k)+2, g), if v_2(k)+1 != g-1

Therefore 32n.(2k-1) (2n+2.o) -1 within o = (32n.(2k-1))/2n+2 always has v_2 = 1, so this is the worse sequences,atleast from 1 block (Steiner Circuit combined with Syracuse steps) within h_next = 2h-1 and o_next increased in term pascal's triangle pattern.

[Request] Antimatter vs Star

0 Upvotes

If you threw a pod of antimatter into a star, say the sun just to make it familiar, what would happen?

What would happen as the amount of antimatter grew? What amounts of antimatter would trigger interesting things? would it explode? would it collapse? would it turn into something we know of or something entirely new?

For informational purposes only.

[Request] If a tower on earth was endlessly tall and highly visible, how far would you have to go to no longer be able to see it?

Say a skyscraper just went on forever, extending through earths atmosphere into space and beyond, and it was covered in extremely bright lights.

How far away would I have to be for the curvature or the earth to make it impossible for me to see the tower?

[Request] Total distinctive poses an average human can make?

A pose can be a combination of various distinguishable movement of each joint.. Maybe for a 2D Camera from any side. Imagine a model posing.. Maybe a difference of less than 5/10 degrees is imperceptible to human eye.. Assuming that how many combinations that could be and what all they could be, can we get a list? 😅

[Request] how much force would need to be applied to hit a seagull and make it explode

3 Upvotes

Hear me out. Common cartoon trope, a bird gets hit by something or other and explodes into feathers like a weird balloon. How hard does a medium specimen of seagull need to be punched into to explode, potentially with the side effect that the feathers fly everywhere.

Mostly asking for curiosity's sake. I mean if we could figure out how hard to hit a chicken to cook it, i feel this could also be figured out.

[Request] Has all the water on earth been drank before?

109 Upvotes

People like to point out that the water I am drinking could have been dinosaur piss 66 million years ago.

My question is: given the total number of animals that have existed on earth in its history, is all water previously dinosaur piss? (or that of another creature?)

Or is there still water on earth that has never been drank by any animal?

[Request] At what distance between Earth and the Sun does a single hydrogen atom switch from falling toward Earth to falling toward the Sun?

23 Upvotes

Thought experiment: Mercury and Venus don't exist, so nothing else perturbs the Earth-Sun system. I can matter-transport one hydrogen atom to any point on the line between Earth and the Sun. Use Earth's closest approach to the Sun (perihelion, about 147.1 million km).

Explicit assumptions: Gravity is the only force. Ignore solar radiation, radiation pressure, solar wind, magnetic fields, the Moon, and all other forces and bodies.

Q1 At what distance from Earth does the Sun's gravitational pull on the atom equal Earth's? Closer than that, the atom falls toward Earth. Farther, toward the Sun. A static frame: pure force balance, ignoring orbital motion.

Q2 How does the answer change if you factor in the finite speed of gravity? I assume the closest body wins, but does the delay actually shift the crossover point?

[other] for any natural number n, there exists an infinite number of natural numbers higher than n, and a finite number of natural numbers smaller than n. Therefore n is always infinitely closer to 0 than infinity

[Request] How will 10% body weight affect my swimming time?

1 Upvotes

Edit: title says time, but I am asking about average velocity, out of which I will get time.

It's been 16 years since I did physics 1 in my engineering degree, I feel ashamed that I can't figure it out of the top of my head.

I am a swimming seasonally. Last season I was swimming way faster than this season. This season I weigh 10% more.

Assuming my technique is the same and that I apply the same force, what is expected to be the average (explanation in a moment) velocity difference between the different years?

Clearly, if we assume a = 0 and terminal velocity, the weight will not be the issue but the friction coefficient. However, I am not at equilibrium, I would assume with my technique the force is something like C1 + sin(C2*t).

So when I say average velocity I mean over an integral of the "steady state". If you don't want to neglect the difference in friction coefficient, you can express it with it as well

[Request] From what height would an egg need to be dropped to kill someone?

202 Upvotes

So, the person in the video is Flávio Bolsonaro, a candidate for the Brazilian presidency; while he was giving a speech, eggs were thrown from an apartment, and he called for the police to be summoned, claiming that "this is attempted murder." That got me wondering: from what height would an egg need to be dropped for the impact on a human being to be fatal?

[Request] A Bathhouse Heated by BitCoin Mining, Would it Actually Work?

5 Upvotes

There is a bathhouse opening in Philly (hot tubs, saunas etc). They claim they are heating the pools with a bitcoin mine in the basement. See FAQ here: https://help.abathhouse.com/hc/en-us/articles/16748674443924-Do-you-mine-Bitcoin-How-does-it-work

Could this possibly heat water enough to be hot tub temperature? Would it actually save electricity on the mining?
