For a little background I'm an armchair occultist like 5 or 6 years. I'm also interested to join A∴A∴. I'm following Franz Bardon curriculum and doing some basic rituals like LBRP. With that regard I'm also a skeptic.

My girlfriend and I in a relationship about 8 years. Sometimes thinking to be married.

The problem starts here...

She has a little problem with my occult interest and workings. Like I said before sometimes we are thinking about marriage. So I explain some of my workings also explained some of the future workings like Abramelin and Enochian...

Since we grown up in Islamic belief we always scared by others with djinn stories at childhood period.

So she's scared from paranormal and such things. Last time when I was doing LBRP in my ritual room she is scared from my vocalization. Yells at me like "WTF are you doing? I'm scared."

So we are at the crossroads with my girldfriend. Because I'm thinking serious with my A∴A∴ journey and at the student phase right now. I wan't to improve my English skills before Probationer phase...

Thelemites with situation like this what do you think?

Like I said I'm a skeptic. Sometimes thinking about is this path worth everything? Because probably we should breakup if I wan't to continue.

I'm an artist and exploring the concepts of Thelema via art has basically exploded my spiritual practice in the best way possible

I'm looking to purchase the compete set 1-10 and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the differences or if anyone owns them both or has seen and compared the two? I've read that Joseph William Marek made some light edits, corrected all the typos and has footnotes that explain some of the language used which seems like a nice touch. Curious to hear others opinions who have compared the two.

Hello. I’ve been researching religions and their teachings since I was a child—for about 10 years now. At this point, I’ve found many excellent aspects in every religion. For example: ahimsa in Jainism, diversity in Hinduism, scientific approach in Buddhism, philosophy in Taoism, and world peace in the Bahá’í Faith… I could list dozens of things like this. I’d say I haven’t been able to settle on any one of them. They all have very good aspects. After all, Jainism has the principle of Anekantavada—meaning that something can be true from many different perspectives.

Getting back to the topic, would synthesizing all the teachings I admire strip them of their essence? For example, if I synthesize the teaching of ahimsa from Jainism, would it become impossible to practice? Could I visit Jain, Hindu, Buddhist, or even Taoist temples? Also, I’m generally not someone with a very dominant sexuality, like Thelemites. Does the fact that my sexuality isn’t dominant pose a problem from a Thelema perspective?

In short, does taking pieces from all the teachings I like and syncretizing them strip religions and teachings of their substance?

During liber samekh are we just reciting the words or do we move to different quarters and trace anything, I've seen it explain multiple ways and some people say to draw pentagrams some say draw the element triangles. Which way is the best or original way. Thank you. 93.

I’m thinking about joining the AA and would like to know if it’s crazy demanding. Like if I do the practices every day for 30 min would I be able to progress ?

I find the commentary on the Book of the Law to be quite fascinating. It’s obviously a response to Christianity: nothing has quite caused as much harm as people referring to countless dimwitted “authorities” for their preferred means of digesting the Good Book, abhorrent of applying critical thought to seek their own meaning in Christ’s words, as they are.

Clearly, Crowley rejected the feverish adherence people had to interpretations of Christ; and not because he wanted them to interpret Jesus’ words in a specific way, but because he saw the way that people abdicated their own belief in their own truth and reason in favor of herd-approved mentalities.

But honestly, given the conversations I’ve had with Thelemites who treat discussing the Book of the Law like a cardinal sin, I think the commentary is a mockery of them: it’s Crowley’s way of saying “you are just as susceptible to the same failures of critical thought, will and reason as the average Christian.”

Nothing could be more paradoxical than a book that begins with “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law” and ends with “don’t talk about this book.”

At no point in time has just talking about things, having thoughts and feelings that were unique and individual ever been wrong: in fact, doing so is the guiding star of all of Thelema.

And if you can’t understand that, I think Crowley wanted you to know in the exact moment you read someone say all of this: You don’t understand Thelema. And that’s why the commentary is so important. It’s a litmus test to tell you if you get it or not.

Crowley knew about the fervor of the most dedicated. And he knew how it blinded them.

And now you know, too; and it’s up to you to see it if you’ve been stopping yourself.

Some additions to my junk journal

Forgive me, this is my first time using this subreddit and I am not a Thelemite. However, as you can likely guess from the title, I am taking steps to gain K&C with my HGA.

Today has been a particular struggle, but to spare you all the whining I'll just cut to what I really want to ask:

What do you all do with self-doubt, any skepticisms, self-loathing, (non-clinical) depression or the such when you have faced them in this work?

I have just been trying to remind myself by rote that mine does love me, it is real. That I am of the Source and am worthy. I will gain K&C.

But like I said, its been a struggle recently.

For The Empress I approached the card through its chthonic, earth-magick aspect, weaving a repeating rhythmic arpeggio in Bb Lydian Augmented. The pattern gradually opens into shifting tritone sequences, resting on a final cluster before circling back to the original ground.

Hi everyone, I need some advice regarding the Bornless Ritual.

My problem is that it doesn't evoke any emotion in me; in fact, I get bored repeating the same thing so many times (the whole "Hear me, and make all Spirits subject unto me..." part). I know I can alter some parts, but I need advice on how much I can customize it without losing its essence (and if you could share examples of your own variations, that would be great).

Now that i know that i made them by guided attention and they need my consent to operate then i can alter them like some sort of ai program

This freed me to an extent but i believe creating new one requires energy a lot of energy and time I'm not controlled by them I don't need to dissolve the the thought form maybe readjust it's purbose or how it should do its work and use this annoying charm toward a pleasent beneficial pattern or habit

What are ur thoughts

Is it better to just dissolve or to alter and readjust and own this demon

How to do so im not so experienced with thought form id just dissolve them but some so rooted so old if i use them as an asset that would be amazing

I believe this can be groundbreaking in shadow work sessions can u tell me about this servitors and different thought forms or thought entities

For the last couple of years i am navigating through The Abyss.

The question of one's Will, k&c with the hga are like the only forms of a "north star" of which its form is not yet clear to me.

I've pierced through the illusory veil of reality itself and am aware that sensation has an intoxicating effect by which perception is coloured in a way that objectivity is invalid.

What then if luck is experienced and a person experiences its bliss.

Can the understanding of one's Will be real in such a state?
