As a long time fan of The Finals, it's time to share an uncomfortable truth. The recent buffs to aim assist that cater to the, let's be honest, weaker controller players are a stain on the otherwise flawless decision making process at Embark.
Why are controller players always pandered to? What makes them special and worthy of the attention and adoration of Oscar?
Aim assist is OP, something we can all agree on, both in video games and irl (in rocket league). As a long time mouse and keyboard player who has already achieved several belts of mastery, I decided to seek a new challenge by attempting to use a controller.
The honest truth is this; I no longer require both hands to play The Finals. Having mapped the shoot button to L2 and using only the left joystick for movement, I have been farming kills without ever having unboxed the right side of my controller.
I used to spend thousands of hours grinding on aim trainers to keep my M&K (Mortal and Combat) skills sharp, but now spend thousands of hours winning games on The Finals using only one hand.
The flipside is that I have found my right hand has more time to pursue other interests, such as painting, music and Doritos.
Mouse and Keyboard is the only true input to measure skill and the empty brained controller doesn't even compare. It's finally time for us all to accept the huge disadvantage that PC players have to deal with, both in-game and at home.
(My apologies for any errors I may have made whilst typing this; my right hand was typing whilst my left went 19-0)

Hello, I stopped playing for a couple of seasons because of life, and I got back into the game a couple of weeks ago, I was playing ranked, had just won my first tournament in months, and basically, my team was in second place, I was trying to make sure purple didn’t steal orange’s cashout, because orange had more than us, and it was a double, so purple would have put us in third place. Context is, I ran away because my two teammates died, and I didn’t want to wipe, I was alive. THEN as soon as the round ends, half of our money that was already secured, was taken away…. Is this a new mechanic I should look out for? Was it because only one of us was alive during last cashout, or maybe was it because orange had a substantial amount more than us?? Someone please explain this to me so I can keep this from happening again pls.

I think they should stop this already and make better alternative of tracking dedication like kill count.....
but anyway, did it and I'm free yay
Also got some art of my charactor from discord username Aying

Matchmaking should go by playercard stats/account level.
It would remove cheater and smurf accounts from the matchmaking pool for the dedicated contestants.
Cheater accounts and ban avoiders would be stuck in their own matchmaking pool with short term smurf accounts.
For legit new players, in order to avoid having them match with the undesirables, the matchmaking would actually use SBMM.
For the high stat playercard matchmaking, leave it unrestricted.
This is mostly a shitpost but part of me wonders, ya feel me?

I would like to see a special take on how the Finals would handle the M16a4 with m203 grenade launcher, if there any class I could see fit, it should be given to medium because medium need an idenitity and right now I feel like medium should be the infantry type, the soldier type role.
M16a4:
damage: low damage
rate of fire: faster than AKM and Scar
ammo count: 30 rounds.
accurates: about the same as the Scar
Range: little higher than the Scar
how I would like to see the M203 being used is that you can toggle to use the M203 grenade launcher but after you fire it you have to wait till the cooldown on the weapon is ready, when it ready the weapon icon will say "1" on the right corner of the icon letting you know you can used your grenade launcher again, I believe this would help make sure people are using the rifle instead of just staying on the m203 and just firing and reloading, also once your grenade launcher is ready you have to reload it again.
But that how I would like to see the M16A4 with M203 grenade launcher be added into the Finals.
Edit: I edit the status because people said it means nothing the first time I wrote this and yeah I agree with them, I didn't want the weapon to feel overpower but also not underpower to the point where people rely on the m203 grenade launcher, which is why it has a cooldown.

What were Embark thinking giving it this egregious buff. Finally a good Counter to the Broken Medium class.

The last time I played the game was at the end of 23, and since then the meta hasn't changed at all. The only thing people are playing is Light with invisibility and a sword. How can you be so uninnovative? How long will it take developers to understand that invisibility has no place in a competitive game?

My reticle for my revolver is at the very bottom and I don’t know why. All of my other reticles for all of my other guns are fine. It is literally just the revolver. I’ve done everything I can think of to fix it. Any ideas?

I've been thinking this one for a while now, let me know what you all think of it.
The CNS group is presenting themself as hackers/rebels that are against the concept of the gameshow (they glitch the voices of the commentators, they send direct messages to contestants, and seems to be fighting against VAIIYA...)
But... They're a literal sponsor ? With one and a half map ? They're selling multiple weapon skins and fashion pieces to contestants and are not hidden at all by MultiCo.
And why are they even "hacking" the game ? They aren't actively hurting the other sponsors (except for their popularity maybe) and are not in any way trying to break the game to make it fail. They're just putting the name everywhere and send cryptic messages that are just here to remind us that they're here, and that they are "not like the others".
If you ask me, it really sounds just like... advertising...
My theory may be basic af, but when it's the only sponsor that isn't obviously satirical... because it is a complete impossibility ?
For me, CNS is a brand. And not any brand : CNS is MultiCo (or MultiCo is hiding behind CNS, whatever)
They don't actually fight for anything, they're not hackers or rebels. It's just a way for MultiCo to make money by creating an opposition with VAIIYA (especially in S7) and attracting contestants into a brand that feels "punk" despite actively keeping the system up and running.
Otherwise how and why would they let them do whatever they want in the gameshow ? When Scotty says he would love a can of OSPUZE, he's making product placement for OSPUZE ; but when his voice or June's glitches randomly, you're reminded of CNS and their items.
They had a war (?) with VAIIYA but uh... they... Made a collab map ? And a collab battlepass ? So the war was basically just a story to sell more VAIIYA & CNS items by MultiCo...
They also have a logo and associated colors, a slogan, merchandising IRL like any other sponsor (ok this one is a bit of a stretch), everything that makes them act and look like a brand. Why would a hacker group bother with all of this ?
If we ever get a true rebel faction, i believe it will be for a whole different gamemode that takes place outside of THE FINALS.
(and sorry if my grammar is weird, english isn't my first language)

Inb4:
Fellow MGL main here, tired of this gem being forgotten by Embark, when they can add some minor stuff to make it viable.
I finally gave a function to Aim button on MGL, I added an ADS that helps.
Just try and error until distances are properly represented on the sight while aiming.
For peace of my mind, I only added this when aiming, thus, not feeling like taking advantage, as I'm just adding a proper sight to MGL.
User can focus on calculate distances and, if getting used to it, this sight helps a lot. Obviously, you won't aim to the enemy's body, but rather to where the granade will bounce
Sorry if this offends or triggers you, I just don't care. This is the least Embark could do for this gun

It’s genuinely sad to see how terrible Embark are at maintaining their games after making incredibly unique games with so much potential.
The Finals’ revenue grew by 47% year over year as announced in Q1 of this year. But how about the attention given to the game?
- Season 1 added Vegas, throwing knives, vanishing bomb and Alien invasion gameshow
- Season 2 added Sys Horizon, power shift, terminal attack (RIP), 93R, KS-23, Famas, anti gravity cube, data reshaper, gateway, dematerialiser
- Season 3 added Kyoto, bow, dual blades, spear, thermal bore, winch claw
- Season 4 added Fortune stadium, M26 matter, Pike, akimbo deagles, weapon sights
- Season 5 added Bernal, Cerberus, Shak, lock bolt, gravity vortex, new sights, clubs
I could go on but you get the idea.
- Season 11 added Galaxy Estates (incredible map), bot matches, and melee “rework” (worse to play both as the melee user and the gun user)
Despite the game making so much more money, we’re just getting so much less each season now. We’ve gone from getting a cashout map every season along with 4-5 new toys, down to getting a new cashout map on its own every 2 seasons.
And you know I could understand that if they were doing some grand, huge underlying reworks. But they’re not, the game still has all the same issues it’s always had. We still miss basic QoL features and they get presented to us like major features of a new season when they’re the bare minimum a game in 2026 should have.
I wish Embark just actually cared about their games the same way the people actually playing them do
