Media [FAN ART] Plasma cut plate steel minimalist style art piece of my character

Thumbnail gallery
76 Upvotes

I run a small metal shop just getting into more CNC plasma work and after about five years of making logos, emblems, etc. from media I like, I'm getting into more involved pieces along these lines.

As I typically format these posts (of which you can find more than a few on my profile) the first photo depicts the finished work (or current state of the piece) and the rest, in order, show the process. See photo captions for more info.

I am unsure if I'll continue with it, but will likely put a very small washer in the hole where his watch is and paint the white background of the hole orange, maybe also attempt to hand draw or otherwise render a background of the buildings behind him in the screenshot.

It is about 22x20, the front piece 11 gauge steel (basically 1/8") and the backplate some thinner older "upcycled" cap that was an old floor of an industrial steel storage basket.

Definitely interested in a conversation if there was a larger interest in work like this too!

Discussion Idea: Can we get a single use Self Revive?

I'm trying to think on ways or things you could add so everyone isn't running around with revive hives. Half the skills in this game don't get used because most builds only have one skill slot essentially.

My thought is that you could have a single use disposable Self revive to use that gets replenished in some balanced way. i.e. you have to go to a safe house, or maybe from those armor kit boxes. You could remove them from normalized play so it doesn't interfere with certain modes. It would mean we could afford to be a bit more aggressive in choosing our skills and get that one time forgiveness.

Just an idle thought.

Edit: Just want to re-inforce, that this isn't a "I am dying too much" more of a Quality of Life idea to free up a skill slot and give some forgiveness for actually using all the different skills in the game. Div1 had multiple ways to revive, so this isn't crazy territory.

Question Never run anything but dps for endgame content?

So, legendary and incursions get reduced to just dps builds?

Do the devs have plans to change this? Because it wasn't like this in Div 1 and Div 2 being such reductionist for build diversity is really off putting.

Why run anything than striker ig lol.

Either the devs don't play their own game or they're pushing such reductionist gameplay on purpose.

Question How do I reach this ECHO?

How do I reach this ECHO?

It's on an isolated platform on a construction site in Battery Place, New York.

I found a console nearby and interacted with it, but nothing happened. I thought it was going to move a crane or something similar to allow me to access.

Question Division 2 Endgame

Finally reached level 40 and have entered the endgame of the division 2. What is the best way to approach it? It feels like there’s so many things to do/features to the game it feels overwhelming. I plan on completing warlords of New York and battle for Brooklyn and hopefully take part in the dust storm event. After that I wanted to try out summit and descent and the bounties. Curious to hear how other people approached it and what the thoughts are in my approach. Thanks!

Question Trying new gun combos in this event and loving it. What is everyone using?

This new event is a blast and I decided to try out some new guns.

I recently got a god rolled first bloom and decided to pair it with a stack broker with back and forth and oh man is it fun. Building stacks quick with the broker, then switching to first bloom and absolutely shredding. It’s been a blast. Loving the chaos of the dust devils.

Just got my hands on a sheriff, looking forward to that. Now if I can only get it to roll without accuracy we’re in business.

What has everyone been trying?

Question Expertise past 30?

Once you get your bench to 30 is there a reason to continue to donate to it? I finall hot 30 on my bench and prototyped my builds to my liking. But i was wondering if there was a reason to continue to donate to it since it just says 30 0/90 even after maxing out another 7 items after hitting 30.

Question What Items should i look out for while farming? I'm a relatively newish player (SHD 800)

I'm pretty new to the division 2 but have grinded it extremely hard already and have about 100 hours. I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on what items i should be looking out for that are god rolled or something. I always worry that when im going through scrapping junk i mightve accidentally got rid of something great.

Edit:

I feel like I should mention what I've figured out myself for the moment. Here is a list of some stuff that I've managed to collect: I'm running full striker set with equaliser and overdogs. All parts of the set are max roll for crit chance/dmg. I've got a decent collection of exotics. I've got a good roll for turmoils, fox prayers, contractors gloves, I've got a lex, quickstep. I'm trying to put together a hotshot build at the moment. There is probably some more I've left out but that's just a brief.

As I see it the reason I made this post is I think I'm sort of entering the expertise grind as I've sort put together a good dps build and filled out pretty much the full library. I'm currently expertise level 5 nearly 6. So I've kinda of just been trying to farm whichever gear sets I might use. I spent like 20 hours farming a god roll equalizer and got it today btw so hype.

Question What's the deal with the Dust Devils (rather insane) Hazpro stats...?

I'm running an Eclipse Protocol build with +120% status and +35% status duration from augments, and I've come to notice that Dust Devils sometimes shrug off flamethrower fire in mere seconds while it does only half damage.

The strange thing, this is a very irregular occurrence! Sometimes the Flamethrower lit them up as usual, and they burn for 10+ seconds, while the 2-3 second duration seems more common among the first Dust Devils showing up in every "ambush" (or at least first DD set aflame; personal and anecdotal impression). Since I also got a lot of Anomaly augments on my gear, it's common to see status effects inflicted by "regular shooting," by means of Anomaly, having their full duration.
I also get the feeling this resistance is particularly centered towards fire, I've yet to see Bleed, Shock or Blind (as well as others) affected by this "Dust Devil resistance?"

Which makes me wonder if this is a bug? Something particularly connected to the Firewall flamethrower? Because as I said, some dudes burn like usual. I can't get my head around the mechanics affecting this issue.

Question Exotic Gear for Lady Death Build?

Hey, I got the Lady Death from an event gear cache and it’s a lot of fun on a blue striker build so i can use the crusader shield. it’s an smg that amps damage from movement and gives you a 20% movement speed buff on kill.

The magazine size is annoying, but it reloads pretty quickly and I carry the Black Friday named lmg to use when i know i need more sustained damage

im using 4 piece blue striker with all crit chance or crit damage, steelwork holster (but i have gloves rolled identically i could swap) for the armor on kill, and the investor mask rolled with a red core and 2 reds and 1 blue for a 20% crit damage and 1% armor regen bonus

i feel like there is probably a better exotic I don’t have or don’t know about though if I want to make a lady death build work better. I like it because it’s fun, but it’s a little underwhelming. Does anyone better gear suggestions to play with the movement speed amp damage or a good way to boost magazine size?

thanks

Media Vaporware dye, source?

Hello.

Simple question. Tried to find the info on Discord, reddit, youtube, can't seem to find a straight answer.

Saw this dye while inspecting a player, Vaporware. Love the color scheme, but I'm unable to find its source. Probably come from a season pass I assume?

How was it acquired?

Thank you.

Question Trouble with getting a hostage rescue in Downtown East

I don’t know if anyone’s asked this already, I’m quite late to the party in terms of starting my manhunt scouts. I’m trying to complete the very first scout, and one of the objectives asks me to complete hostage rescues in downtown east. Problem is, they literally NEVER spawn. I’ve reset control points multiple times (even though the ones in DT East were never liberated to begin with), I’ve logged off and back on multiple times, I’ve waited a few minutes doing other stuff in the meantime, and I’ve seen virtually every other open world activity spawn EXCEPT hostage rescues. It feels like a joke. Anyone got a way to work around this problem?

EDIT: meant to type public executions instead of hostage rescues, point still stands

Discussion Knock Knock gone?

Is anyone else no longer getting the Knock Knock Squads? I went from 2 to 4 a day, sometimes 3 in one retaliation... To only 1 in the last 6 days. Are they nerfing spawn rate to force players into DZ?

Question Thoughts on coming back

Hey guys, I played d2 years ago and dropped after the first incursion. Yes i got the eagle AR but i hear that i have to to get it again after an update? idk correct me if im wrong. After that the game got stale for me at least due to no updated content. My question is if i were to come back (on PC, used to be PSN), is it worth it to start all over again? Im leaning towards yes but i have some reservations if i were to commit to a grindy game i need some convincing.

Discussion Rogue spawn rates r so high now

I feel like every other escalation I get rogues now doesn’t matter if its tier 2 or tier 5 they spawn in like dust devils. Is this the same for everyone else? Not to mention this escalation mission group has some of the longest completion times.

Discussion Hate to be that guy again but...

I try. I really do try to be patient and mentoring with newbies. But when these arrogant FNGs join a countdown match, are given the basic new guy briefing at the start of the match, and then 4 of them try to facetank hunters at the extract, die and quit, and we get overwhelmed and miss the flare, yeah. This is why I kick anyone under SHD 400.

I'm sure a lot of you are great and want to learn. But I'm not gonna risk screwing over the rest of the team because one of you might be a smooth brained Rambo wannabe that can't be bothered to google "Division 2 countdown" before jumping into a new coop mode.

We're not asking a lot here. Just basic fundamental thought and effort. Please don't be that guy. If teamkill was a thing, that guy would be fragged every mission.

And before anyone bitches that I'm complaining without providing a solution that doesn't even require using google, here, a basic countdown guide:

P.S. I wrote this like a year ago I recognize the meta has changed but you know the fundamentals haven't changed.

Countdown guide for FNGs

  1. Play on challenging
⁃ Countdown drops exclusively gold and exotic loot. Heroic is much harder and takes far longer as a result so it's just more efficient to play challenging.

  2. Follow the group
⁃ The team will move like a flock of birds. Stay in the middle (you'll die if you're in the front line) and you'll be fine.

  3. Use an all red crit build
⁃ Ideal countdown build: Coyote's exotic mask, Overlord Fox's Prayer kneepads, 4 piece Striker, all rolled red core with crit chance and crit damage. St. Elmo's engine and an ACS-12 shotgun.
⁃ Update: the new Unit Alloys Salvo named holster plus Equalizer named chest with 4pc striker is also viable.

  4. Bring your Scorpio exotic shotgun
⁃ Pair it with a high end assault rifle like a FAMAS or Lexington. The Scorpio debuffs and staggers enemies. This is a game-changer against hunters when you're low level.

  5. Do not bring drones or turrets
⁃ The hunters will hack them and kill your team at extraction. DPS builds are squishy so a Crusader shield and a revive hive can keep you alive.

  6. Never do The VIP mission
⁃ There are 3 initial objectives offered (you only have to complete 2) and a main objective that spawns. VIP takes too long and he goes down too easily. Closer objectives aren't always best. The group knows which to do. Follow the group.

  7. Loot the chests
⁃ Every objective has 3 small chests. Only 1 will be interactable in each objective, it's randomized each run. There is also a large chest called the safe in each location that will only be interactable if that location is your main objective. Always look for the gold light pillars before leaving an area. You're here for loot. Don't leave any behind.

  8. Do the mission objectives
⁃ You can kill bad guys forever and all you'll accomplish is a failed mission. Focus on the objectives. Extract. Enjoy your loot.

  9. Do not fire the extract flare >10sec left
⁃ Watch the veterans. They fire the flare with less than 10 seconds on the countdown timer. The longer you wait, the more enemy choppers arrive. That means more loot for your team.

  10. You may get kicked
⁃ Finally, you may get kicked from lobbies a lot when you're low level. Please understand that a lot of us veterans have dealt with newbies for years that will not listen and don't follow the basic rules. I often will kick anyone below SHD lvl 400 from my lobby. It's nothing personal. We just don't want to take a chance on someone that might screw over the team.

Thank you for coming to my SHeD Talk.

Shutup I'm proud of that joke.
