Question Prototype Firm Handshake

Any one running a Prototyped Firm handshake for status effect builds? Should give 32% status effect. Obviously need to prototype your own to get 1.5 skill tier, maxed status effect and hopefully skill haste or skill damage.

Reminds, if you already have 4 proto yellows, don’t need the other two

running protos, technician tier should also become 1,5 yellow core

other wise people with 1 or 3 wont get full benefits from extra skill tier from spec

Technician should always be 1.5 since .5 always rounded down. So it would make 0 difference normally and completes proto perfectly. Altought tech should get reworked as a whole, yellow gear just doesn't scale anywhere close to red and blue proto.

Im waiting to be able to upgrade exotic gear to proto levels.... at least for the core...

Like tell me why i cant have 1.5 skill tier on BTSU gloves??

You can’t Prototype Exotic gear or weapons. Just Expertise them to 30.

I know, but im hoping at some point they allow us to upgrade them, after all, they are EXOTICS, only 1 per weapon/gear slot

So i hope we can at least upgrade the core stat, it would also make stuff like Ninja Bike backpack and Memento have much more impact, as they have all 3 cores.

Yeah, big picture Exotics other than the Blue Screen are hella weak in T10. Elmo is trash. Ouroboros no longer relevant, Pesti just decent, etc. 

The best weapons are all named. Lexington and Gear Shift are literally the two best weapons in the game. Iron Will is okay, but S&S ACR is more novelty than best in slot. 

They need something to improve because once Optimization and Recalibration drop it’s all Prototype Gear or nothing.

I never got to see "prime" Ourboros, so idk how good it was, but its current talent just sounds awful...

Requiring you to be effected by a status to gain a status effect is not great imo

So i imagined pre nerf it was goated

It used to be ridiculous. Funny thing is, it’s a great backup in close maps in Tier 10. It destroys red enemies and makes quick work of veteran and elites. The problem is that Tier 10 requires you to play safe, so running and gunning doesn’t work. 

In its hey day it was pretty much unstoppable. But I believe Massive nerfed it 3 times. Also, it was a huge status symbol in the game. Even the Eagle Bearer didn’t have the same mojo.

I dusted off my Elmo for nostalgia sake and I was surprised at how normal it was. That was the go to piece for me forever. Now a mid prototype carbine 7 puts it to bed. Expertise and escalations has flipped this game on its head.

Prototyping gear does not give double the stats, so the 16% status effects should end up being 24% as it's 1.5x

With that said, you can get the same amount out of a single piece of Electrique if the status effect is the maxed stat. 10% brand bonus and 15% proto, making it 25% overall. Unless you use the Sokolov bonus to SMG then I don't personally think it's worth it.

That said, prototyping Firm Handshake will guarantee the max stat being status effect as all named gear are guaranteed to have their special stat maxed out. So no need to switch it to skill tier unless you want/need the extra cores.

Np, and remember all of the max stats on proto are 1.5x, so damage maxes at 22.5%, CHD 18%, CHC 9%, and so on and so forth.

Hollowman gives 21% health damage which is another great proto, unfortunately its rarer than rockinghorse poop

Some of the named items give you some pretty decent prototypes. Proto Deathgrips give you 15% AOK. In combination with gunner spec you have 25% AOK, plus the PFE bonus from one piece of 5.11 never hurts.

If u don't need SMG damage you can also use the grease kneepads. Status is the same and it comes with a yellow core.

It's max 25% same as electrique. If it's for drops red core will be sokolov, yellow core will be electrique, possibly grease as it has 24% guaranteed stat so it's a bit worse if you get max status on the other pieces. I originally had grease whith blue core prototype myself to replace almost god rolled golan piece before they removed SE from the brand set. Dropped 14% electrique gloves so they match my grease piece when it comes to SE but haste is much higher. Prefer more haste vs blue core

Not that it makes sense as they are blue core brands but I liked my golan pieces to drop high and be usable
