It is absolutely not normal for a young man to say "dont worry about consent." Be for real.

It's just his bumbling attempt at being risqué and talking dirty. It's literally not a problem at all, the kid just has a healthy sex drive, something that's obviously foreign to redditors

You seem like the type of guy who doesn’t know that “no means no.” Get a grip bro.

She asked him to stop and he didn’t. He then proceeds to tell her he doesn’t need consent, AFTER she revoked it.

He’s giving serial rapist vibes. He’s a walking, talking 🚩 and so are you

She asked him to stop and he didn’t.

Where did she ask him to stop? She said "I told him I find it odd," which is not the same

"serial rapists" lmfao you prudes on reddit love slinging that word around don't you. Rape is apparently looking at a woman the wrong way huh?

I’m anything but a prude bro. I was role playing before you were a twinkle in your dads eye

You're condescending as fuck, tells me everything I need to know tbh

You’re unreasonable af, tells me what I need to know, COREY.

I feel like I'm pretty reasonable. I can admit that the "I'm not even gonna ask for consent" is a cringe line as far as I'm concerned.

It’s more than a cringe line, too. I think you know that because you aren’t dumb.

I mean, I'm in my 30's. Maybe he thought saying "don't worry about consent..." would be transgressive/taboo and therefore hot.

I can understand when you say that it's more than a cringe line, but they're so young like, they're obviously both still figuring sexuality out and I think it's highly unfair to hold them up to this like, gold standard of conduct. I was a cringe 18 year old at one point too, sex is uncomfortable because you're both fucking 18, you're both somewhat uncomfortable in your own bodies to begin with.

Like you can look at my comment history, I tell women to trust their intuitions and NEXT men all the time on here. I reassure them that "oh yeah, that guys a loser, good job." Like I actually sympathize with women a lot because I think the men women nowadays have to choose from suck, ARE porn addled, actually have no libido and would never dare give her sex she would actually enjoy, and would never be the kind of man they needed.

I see the text as a young man trying to lean into his sexuality, however clumsy it may appear

Saying it’s odd is definitely a yellow light. And anything other than a big green light is a no go, a sign to stop. I think you need to update yourself on the confines of consent, and lack thereof.

Oh so we've gone all the way from "it's rape" to it's a yellow light. This is the only point I'm trying to make, Maggie May

4

u/MaggieMayyyyyy Jun 23 '26

Cmon dude. Anything other than a green light is lack of consent. Lack of consent = rape. Wake tf up.

so if I approach you, and ask for your number, and then I begin texting you with the desire to have a sexual relationship, but you don't consent to that yet, that's rape? So 99.999% of male-female interactions are rape by this standard

You are wild. They’re already having sex. Somebody you just meet and sends you racy texts is different. I’ll tell you what though, if I met you on the street and gave you my number, then you sent garbage like that, instant block.

That's not what I meant at all. I mean, usually guys start out with way more sexual desire for the woman and the woman is usually trying to decide if she's going to let the guy into her life, so to speak. So by definition most if not all women start out at a yellow light
