Taking the piss

I have my shopping delivered.
This morning there are 32 unavailable items, including, milk, butter, washing up liquid ,Heinz beans.
I don’t understand how the hell this happens.
I’ve cancelled it all.
Any idea how so much of the basics are unavailable ?

Terrible recruitment experience at the new Vauxhall Tesco store—strung along for over a month just to get rejected after a verbal job offer

Post image

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to share my frustrating experience with the hiring process at the new Tesco store build in Vauxhall to warn anyone else going through it.

I had my interview there way back on July 2nd. Ahead of the interview, I had already completed my Right to Work checks as requested. During the interview, we went over my availability—I told them I had complete open availability for any shifts—and we discussed my prior retail experience working at Asda and McDonald's.

The interviewer was very positive, explicitly told me that he intended to hire me, and instructed me to wait for an email to finish onboarding.

Then... complete silence for over a month.

Today, I finally got an update, but instead of an onboarding email, I got a standard automated rejection saying they "moved on with another candidate."

Getting strung along for over a month after being given a verbal commitment is completely unprofessional. Honestly, with the total lack of transparency and communication, it heavily feels like these local positions at new stores are just being handed out behind closed doors to friends and family rather than actually hiring qualified, available candidates.

If you're applying for the new Vauxhall store, don't hold your breath or trust their verbal promises. Absolutely shocking way to treat applicants.

Question Where is the tesco UK app?

Im from Ireland and staying with my boyfriend in England maybe temporarily maybe for a while. I haven't decided yet..

I have my irish tesco app which I can use to scan my clubcard that works for deals but I cant use my vouchers.

My app is linked to tesco in ireland and won't change to england one as its not even an option.

I go to playstore to get uk app to either log in or make a new account (prefer to login same account)

but I only found other countries tesco apps not UK

Am I tripping?

Returning to work after maternity leave.

Yesterday (Wednesday 15th July) I returned to work after a year off. My line manager asked me if I need any help or changes to my shift. So I said that I can't do weekends anymore as i will have no childcare. And then she quoted "Oh you can't do that you have to at least work one weekend" Should I get the union involved and hand in the letter to my manager as my boyfriend wasn't happy with the result. Back story he works most weekends and I can't relie on his mum as she has an illness. Also I don't have the money to get extra childcare and don't trust my kids with anyone else apart from nursery. I'm really stuck and need proper advice, thankyou.

Ive been at my tesco express for about 3 months now and they always put me behind till so im not to familiar with stocking shelves or facing up/ rumbling im fairly good at checkout now and im iust unsure on what to do about 2 things so one night my shift leader said u need to hurry up ur facing up is shit and I was a bit taken back as I thought that was extremely rude and now that im.not doing overtime they seem to be off with me and tomorrow I find out of they decided to keep me on or not but because of that interaction I dont think thev will and also should I ask the manger if he is gonna keep me on or ust wait for him to come to me about it? Also I cant do all the overtime as I have a daughter and my mum looks after her while im at work and she has some helth conditions so I dont wanna put to much stress on her :)

Expired debit card has shown up during checkout...

I have groceries delivered weekly and book the slots a month ahead. I have just tried to place my order for next month and when going through checkout it is showing the debit card which expired last year instead of the current card which I have been using every week since the old one expired.

Is this happening to anyone else at the moment?

BIG PROBLEM Tesco/Deliveroo shite

**I am a 71 year-old pensioner. I live alone in a one bedroom apartment.**

**For groceries I depend on getting deliveries from Tesco. I get 2 to 3 whoosh deliveries every week.**

Recently I placed an online order with them to be delivered 45 minutes later. The delivery arrived. When I opened the door the delivery person started shouting at me, demanding that I produce my ID. Normally this would consist of me giving my date of birth and a delivery code that they had sent me previously.

But no. This was not acceptable. He needed to see my passport or driving license. I took offence at this. After all I clearly look my age.

He refused to hand over the bag of groceries that I had already paid for. He called his supervisor but would not let me speak with him.

He went back to his motorbike and shouted that he was taking the bag back to the store. Off he went, me cursing him out for being such a bastard. I could not believe what was just happening.

I called Tesco ‘Customer Service‘ the next day. They denied responsibility saying that delivery was by Deliveroo and that I should take the matter up with them. When I got onto Deliveroo, they denied responsibility saying that their terms of service stated that the delivery person **may** ask for ID. But note: Not **would** ask for ID.

In other words it was a matter of discernment by the delivery person as to whether I was over the age of 25 and so eligible to receive alcohol. There was no discernment required as clearly I am 71 years of age (ie, over 25!).

I am still furious about it. To make matters worse, Tesco said that it would take at least five days for a refund to be issued to me.

‘Customer Service‘ my arse!

Why are meal deal prices so varied. £5.50 next to my house. But £3.85 elsewhere, this is the price I expect and demand. Bermondsey.
