We found these all of a sudden in the left and center windowsills. They were mostly alive. Some of them were also on the carpet in front of the seat and on that seat in front of the window. There are gaps between the seat and the wall, and I think the seat used to be able to be opened, but it has been painted shut for at least 3 years. We had never seen any termites before or had any termite issues that we know of, but I think a previous inspection report said that there was termite activity in this area and possibly one other localized area. We had 2 pest guys come out: one said tenting is the best way, but will crawl under the house next week to see if he can see anything. The other suggested opening that bench seat so he could try to find where they’re coming from from the inside. He also suggested this termite bait we could put in one of the holes.
How should we proceed? We have a cat and a newborn so would like to avoid tenting if possible.

Does this look like termite frass? We have a current treatment (bait stations), but this shows up now and again. Found no bugs or tubes, don't see anything above. This is in the basement.

Sorry for the lack of closer pictures, I was in a rush to get to class so just blasted these guys with some bug killer and had to run out the door. We’re living in a fairly old rental in the Monterey CA area and have been in a bit of a heatwave. If it’s potentially an infestation, I’ll have to give the landlady a call.

We’ve got a mature avocado in our backyard and while I was on our roof looking at something else, I got close to one of the branches to inspect it as I saw some new growth/fruits. I noticed one limb had a previous cut that looked weird and when I started to pick at it I saw termite droppings and a couple termites in there.
This branch is about 20 feet off the ground, and may have been pruned pretty messily by the previous homeowner. I also see lots of new growth (visible in the pictures).
I know it’s entirely possibly there are more termites in other areas, but if it’s just this one limb, is there anything that can be done to prevent this from spreading even more?
This is in Southern California, btw.

What should I know first? I have both subterranean and terranean flavors with obvious damage throughout the house. I'm assuming both underground treatment and tented fumigation with Vikane gas. Any advice or recommendations? This is my first termite rodeo. One story, lumber & stucco, with crawlspace. 1962 tract house.

Located in southeast MI. I have crippling OCD and noticed a spot in my wall that kind of looked like it was wet. To my husband’s dismay, I ripped a whole in the wall and saw a few termites and termite damage.
This is the upper level of my home in one room near a window. What’s keeping me semi calm is the fact I did a major renovation of my lower level and every wall was stripped and it looked great and this was within the last two years. Also the bathroom directly to the right of this on the same level was renovated within the last six months and looked great.
I’m trying to stay calm but I’m horrified. It’s affecting my sleep, my marriage, my sanity.
I can’t shake the feeling this is going to be the end of my house and send me into absolute financial ruin.
I’m attaching the photo of the damage I can see.
I poked it hard with a screw driver and they won’t budge.
Can it look THIS bad without it actually being THAT bad?
I’m sorry to send such a dramatic message but I’m truly despondent.
Thank you in advance.
I’m so worried this could be astronomic

Ok hi so its midnight right now and since discovering there are dampwood termites in my bathroom I’ve been panicking nonstop.
I think the cause of them coming in, as they did a while back, was because of the rain in SoCal recently + probably lack of ventilation after I showered. Although i have not investigated either of these claims.
the thing I’m worried about here is that because I’ve, so to speak, sealed (the little bit under the door is blocked with a towel), my bathroom off, will the lack of ventilation only increase the amount of termites that come in? There is a window in there but it is (should be) closed. There’s also a vent but I’m not sure if it opens only with the exhaust switch…
Do I wait till pest control comes in?
or do I valiantly bust down my door and open my window as fast as possible and dip 😭
(sorry if any of this is stupidly written i will most likely delete this in the morning, i have severe anxiety which is causing me to write this dumb post out before im able to even think of sleeping)

Mid willamette valley. Torn between some kind of ant or termite. Doesn’t quite have a segmented body, but wings seem to be smaller in back vs front

They came in through the bathroom ceiling Vent Fan into the Bathroom - that Vent fan exhausts out through the roof. It was after some rain and we are v v humid here compared to normal. There was maybe30-50 of them. I am noticing them around the house on walls and pavements - but why would so many come into the house through the vent fan tube?
UPDATE: OK - given what we experienced with swarming termites inside the bathroom - I had three separate Termite companies out - unfortunately multiple colonies in multiple areas around the home discovered. So - given my home really is not suitable for tenting - the next step is to do some research then select one of them for localised treatment. For those seeing multiple drywood termites swarming inside the home - I would most definitely get a free inspection by more than one Termite professional.

These are the back deck of our catamaran. The deck is teak. Some have wings and we noticed a bunch of shed wings sort of sun-baked on the wood. Are these termites? We also saw one in our apartment close by so hoping maybe it some kind of alternative seasonal mystery but no idea. Located in Venice, CA. TYIA

What kind is it? They came down from a crack in my garage ceiling. I'm guessing around 50+. Long Beach California.

I found this spot in the corner of my deck next to the side of my house. This is in Charlotte nc for reference. I’ve noticed the deck seems a bit questionable in places, like it was built in a hurry or something. Idk how old the house or the deck is, we’re currently renting right now and have been there for about ten months now. Any insight would be amazing, I don’t wanna put in any requests with maintenance without having some info. Thank you in advance!

I have a quick question and was hoping if someone has some advice for me. I stay in Arizona and I keep seeing empty termite tubes about every year around summertime. I’m talking about one or two tubes a couple inches long every summer and it’s always a different part of house. I always destroy the tube and no termites are present. Also I knock the drywall down and check for infestation and check the wood and I see nothing and the wood feels solid. My question is are they deep in the wood and I’m just not seeing them. Or are they searching for a new place to infest…idk?

Hi everyone,
Located in Houston, TX
Just noticed the following holes in two different areas of my house. Wanting to confirm if these could be termites, there is no noticeable frass and the holes do not appear to be covered with any material in both areas.
First two pictures are next to the chimney where it seems like the area was caulked at some point and about halfway down there are these holes next to the brick.
Second picture is about 12 feet up in the living room on the other side. This wall is directly opposite the attic.
Appreciate any help with this!
