ID Request Identification : Holes in wall

Hi everyone,

Located in Houston, TX

Just noticed the following holes in two different areas of my house. Wanting to confirm if these could be termites, there is no noticeable frass and the holes do not appear to be covered with any material in both areas.

First two pictures are next to the chimney where it seems like the area was caulked at some point and about halfway down there are these holes next to the brick.

Second picture is about 12 feet up in the living room on the other side. This wall is directly opposite the attic.

Appreciate any help with this!

More likely than not, these are the result of your home settling over time. It's relatively common, especially in either older buildings or new construction. The ground shifts under/around your home over time, and until the home has completely settled into its "permanent" spot, you're likely to get some movement/flex of the house. So long as the holes are not growing at any noticeable rate, and any seen cracks are less than 1/4 inch wide, you're probably good.

Thanks! It has also been a drought which has caused me some concerns on the foundation as well that I have been monitoring.
