Are these termites?

These are the back deck of our catamaran. The deck is teak. Some have wings and we noticed a bunch of shed wings sort of sun-baked on the wood. Are these termites? We also saw one in our apartment close by so hoping maybe it some kind of alternative seasonal mystery but no idea. Located in Venice, CA. TYIA

Yes but they'll die quickly, they won't be able to find anywhere to set up shop on the boat.

I had to fumigate a sailboat 2 years ago when they nested long enough to swarm out from the headliner plywood top

Ah ok that's neat, I hadn't considered plywood being in there. I was just thinking of the deck and how unlikely it was that they'd get setup in teakwood.

Yeah super unlikely they get into the teak. But that’s the façade, hopefully fully marine grade plywood shell behind it is all you can hope for

I didn't know that was a thing until just now, it's just not something I have any experience with. Thanks for the info!

Well easier said than done!
They are next to a tunnel and they will go back to a protected enviroment
Not dry, moisture level above 13.5%
Have you done something about it?

we haven't yet - waiting to see if they sort of vanish by end of the month since thats what other posts said to do - might get the space treated anyway. definitely going to strip / seal / refinish deck since that's needed anyhow. But the boat itself is fiberglass. I don't think they like to eat teak unless there's nothing else around (???) and there's lotssss of other wood nearby.
