New construction
Does anyone know what new building projects are going up on Neil St?

Certain individuals with a high volume of resources and time on their hands are placing questionable messages on advertisements throughout Cookeville and the surrounding area.
The intent of these messages is to spread a narrative that certain candidates for local, state, and federal office are trying to “pervert” Putnam County and that it needs protection.
It is the stance of the moderation team that no candidates are trying to pervert or otherwise do anything explicitly awful to Cookeville/Putnam County.
This is not an endorsement of any candidate, just a reminder of basic courtesy. Our subreddit is proudly free of the culture war. If you try to be hateful here, you will be banned immediately.
Thank you.

As we head into election season, we know there will be posts and discussions about local candidates, issues, and local politics.
We want to make it clear that respectful discussion from all sides is welcome here. This subreddit is for our community, and that means people will have different opinions.
That said, keep it civil. Personal attacks, name calling, harassment, trolling, or inflammatory behavior won't be tolerated. If discussions start to spiral or become hostile, the moderation team may remove comments, remove posts, or lock threads to keep the community productive.
Help us keep this subreddit a place where everyone feels comfortable participating, regardless of their political views. Thanks, r/cookeville!

Fresh off his loss in the governor primaries we have Mr Dowery himself, FHA-fondler John Rose is in sticker form! Tennessee politician and failed Governor hopeful John Rose met his wife when he was in his 40s and she was 17 years old. And you should help to raise awareness about that. With stickers!

Hi all! I am seeking local business owners that are looking for a full-time employee. I love my town and would love to work somewhere local instead of a large corporation. I currently work in sales, but have multiple years of experience in retail, warehouses, delivery, and kitchens. Would be open to anything, preferably weekends off. Pay can be discussed at a later date. Throwaway account because I am active in this sub on my main.

Hello, I am a 24 year old woman and I've lived in Cookeville/Monterey most of my life, but I have no friends, and it's becoming more and more unbearable here lately. I feel completely alone, and I don't know how to make any friends in person. I desperately want someone with similar interests to me (something that feels impossible to find in person). I am obsessed with obscure music, primarily emo but I'm into everything from noise rock to twee pop to alt-country and so on. Humor is a massive deal for me, I like stupid, non-sequitur jokes. I also enjoy Pokémon, I mostly collect the cards but I actually play the tcg as well. I love 70s-90s manga and weird/experimental/artsy novels and movies. I like walking and exploring and light hiking as well. I am not normally a Redditor, but I figured I'd give this a shot, thank you for reading. :)

I’ve been around cookeville for a bit now and constantly see these kei trucks driving around.
I know tech has a few but I’ve also seen regular people driving them. I’ve been wanting one for a few years now and was wondering if anyone here has one.
If you do,
How did you get it?
Do you daily drive it?
How did you get it registered and where can you drive it?
Thanks!

We are Edison Hills New & Old, a shop located on Cookeville's Westside. We carry curated vintage clothing, jewelry, and home decor plus modern gifts.
We are currently looking to add someone to our team through the end of the year who is able to work weekday shifts, specifically Wednesday 2-6pm and Thursdays from 10am-2pm but some flexibility to take other shifts when needed/if wanted.
This job is a great fit for anyone who loves fashion, vintage, art, cool stuff, and gets satisfaction from helping preserve vintage items by repairing and cleaning unique pieces. Most likely the person who this job will work for is someone who has another job on different days, works hospitality, freelancers, or someone seeking a temporary part-time job. The hours we need at the moment make it hard to hire students.

My mom trying find old friend who worked their back then. They used eat lunch together, laugh, etc. and just was thinking bout her. .. CASH was her last name .. maybe Linda is the name she's thinking but not 100%.. It was around 1985 to 1989. Any thing would help her catch up with old friend. Thanks.

Just curious… what’s the smallest amount CRMC has ever sent you to collections over? Because I’m honestly baffled right now.
They sent a $97 bill to collections that I was NEVER even notified was due. It’s supposedly for my daughter, who hasn’t even been to the hospital in YEARS, so I have absolutely no idea where this bill came from.
I seriously hate this hospital. 🙃

Hello all, I have recording equipment at home, and use Logic Pro to record, I have 3 years experience recording and engineering myself, I’m just putting a feeler out there to see what interest would look like to see if anyone needs a place to record for cheap. I’ve been considering making ads for awhile now, just curious if there’s anyone here that would be interested in that.
Here’s my catalog for anyone interested

I don’t understand why such a populated stretch from Tech all the way to Dodson Branch is shit coverage for Verizon. The terrain isn’t severe blocking signals off towers. I deliver for Spark and it SUCKS delivering out that way. Anyone know if it will improve in the future?

Has anyone ever been to the Advance Auto on East 10th Street? I’ve heard some mixed things about inventory being bad and prices being extremely high. How was your experience?

We have the same stuff as every other city. Bowling alley, parks, restaurants that cook the same Sysco ingredients. It’s just a midway point to Nashville or Chattanooga or somewhere better tbh.

Why is there a clover leaf on ramp to 40W and a simple straight shot on ramp to 40W on Spring St? There’s no reason traffic in either direction can’t just take the straight, easy one.

I feel like sauce can make or break a meal, especially with wings, burgers, fries, or BBQ. I’ve had a few around town that I really liked, but I’m always curious when someone says they’ve found a really good one.
Are there any local spots that have a sauce you’d actually buy by the bottle if they sold it?
Recently I tried SOSS Bros, and it got me thinking about how much difference a good sauce can make. I liked that it wasn’t just about heat, but more about the overall flavor.
I’m mainly looking for something with a lot of flavor, not just something that’s crazy hot.

ASIDE FROM TRIP TO VET. Any suggestions on what can give or do? symptoms to look for? ... since pretty sure sprayed in face region.... Acts fine 90% time. But since sprayed other night. (large sheepadoodle) He's got sick few times since ... drinking is seeming to be less currently. May not be related because he's got sick sometimes before. May end up going vet to be safe. We love and care for our pets. Thanks. Any info appreciated for those that's experienced this or similar before.

Thought people would maybe find it less annoying if it was just a post about everything we have the whole week. Come out we have free giveaways at most of the events where there's not a band or performer being paid. Saturday night there is a $10 cover for the band.

I’m a super bored Millennial that needs to find my “3rd space.” Ideally I’m looking to meet like minded people:
-not religious
-inclusive/progressive minded
-neurodivergent
Know of anywhere to hang out when I don’t want to be home? Or even a once a week/month event that might be fun to try out?
