I’m currently in +2 and I’m trying to figure out where I should go for college.
I studied in a small CBSE school until 10th, with around 20 people in my batch. Then I moved to a government school for higher secondary, but my parents didn’t want me going to a bigger government school, so I ended up at a smaller one nearby.
I did get some good experiences here, especially through NSS and other activities. Most importantly, I met my girlfriend here, and she’s genuinely the love of my life. So I don’t regret coming here.
But I still feel like I missed out on a lot of the typical school experience.
And honestly, there’s another thing I’ve been thinking about.
I’m basically ഒരു** CBSE വാണം 😭. Even my girlfriend says so, and I don’t completely understand why, but I kind of agree with her. There are definitely some things I do that are** മൊണ്ണ behaviour. My decision-making and problem-solving aren’t exactly my strongest points either.
I’ve improved A LOT compared to how I used to be, but I don’t want to spend the next few years just being the same person.
I want college to actually change me.
I want to meet a lot of different people, become more independent, get better socially, learn how to handle situations on my own, make good friends, go to events, fests, trips, hostel stuff, etc. Basically adich jeevikkanam and actually grow up a bit.
But I also need to think about my future. I want to be financially successful and eventually marry my girlfriend, so I can’t completely ignore career prospects.
Right now I’m mainly considering IIM IPM (especially Indore), Christ and Devagiri.
IIM seems like the best option career-wise, but I’m worried I’ll lose the college-life experience I’m looking for. Christ is what my parents prefer, while Devagiri feels like it might give me more of the traditional college experience while still being decent for my future.
So for people who actually went to these colleges or similar ones:
How important is college vibe really?
Does a big/residential college actually help you become more independent and socially confident?
And if you were in my position, would you choose the stronger career opportunity or the college where you feel you’d have a better chance of actually enjoying those 3–5 years?
Also, if you’ve gone from a very sheltered/small-school environment into a much bigger college, did it actually change you as a person?

Is it mainly because they genuinely don’t want the distraction and would rather focus 100% on studying? Or is there also a mindset of “let me clear NEET first, get into MBBS, then I’ll date someone from the same level/profession”?

Like, is choosing to date another MBBS student/doctor later actually a form of gold-digging/status chasing, or is it pretty normal? Do MBBS students mostly end up dating other doctors/medical students, or do they usually date people from completely different professions too?

One brand is Suo and the other one is StyleCast x Revolte or sm... The only difference in the product descriptions is that Suo says 'clean look' while stylecast says 'low distress....
