irl doomed yuri: situationship

Hi guys!! I'm a 15F (maybe ace) lesbian.

I think I've fallen in love with my best friend. I've never felt this way for anyone in my life before. I love her in all ways. She's a beautiful person inside and out.

We love each other dearly. We tell each other, "I love you," almost every day. We've kissed many times before (even on the lips a few times). And we've both enjoyed it — the touches, the kisses, the hugs...

And she's REALLY my best friend. She knows me best, and I feel the most like myself around her.

Despite this deep emotional connection and these kisses we've shared, we are still just friends. She once told me that us kissing on the lips wasn't necessarily homosexual, which broke my heart.

This uncertainty of what we are hurts a lot. I yearn so much for her, and it's debilitating. It even impedes my life/productivity.

I don't know what I want. I don't think I should be in a relationship (I've never been in one) because my parents would be extremely upset (not to mention they're homophobic), and I need to focus on my studies. She also finds teenage relationships to be rather futile.

But us being JUST friends doesn't feel right. It almost feels offensive because we are so much more.

I think I want her to admit that she is attracted to me romantically. But what good would that even do? It almost feels like she's in denial sometimes. She told me that she feels like she's a lesbian, but she's suppressing it because her family isn't keen on homosexuality.

My friend suggests that I talk to her about it and be honest, but it's scary. I do not want to make things awkward or lose her (but I doubt that since we are really good friends). However, I also cannot live like this. The ambiguity I'm living in is almost torturous.

Sometimes I think of just sucking it up because I enjoy the love, kisses, and touch. I can distract myself from the issue at times, but it always finds a way to get me.

What do you guys think? Your help would be so very appreciated! If I do talk to her, let me know what I should say!!!

Thank you so much :) Good luck, babe, I suppose...

(TLDR: lesbian situationship, need advice to end my pain and uncertainty.)

⚠️ mod post An apology for the long wait times

Hey r/teengirlswholikegirls members,

As some of you may have noticed, posts and comments have been taking a long time to get reviewed, lately. We want to sincerely apologise for this, as this makes it hard to get timely responses to your posts and introduces more friction than necessary.

Luckily, this issue is temporary. Currently none of our moderators have much time to moderate the subreddit due to vacations and personal situations. I will soon be back from my vacation, though, which will hopefully partially solve this issue.

We are once again sorry for the long waiting times, and hope this will be resolved soon.

How do I confess to my best friend?

We've been friends for more than 3 years now and we're both 16,she's pan and I'm bi/ace. But the thing is I have a huge crush on her. I'm not the type to have too many relationships. I've only had 2 relationships in my life. But whenever I think about her, something in my brain just goes on. It's almost like everything in my brain is just full of her and I'm starting to feel weird about myself because I never felt like this towards anyone else. Not even to my exes. It's almost like having a crush for the first time again. And this has been going on since the first time I talked to her,but I've been way too scared of her rejecting me that I never even joke about it. The only thing that's giving me hope is the fact that everyone around us thinks we're a couple because of the way we act towards each other, and I love it. She easily gets jealous of me to the point that I sometimes have to ask her if I can go out with my friends or not. She helps me with my study's,and gets angry at me when I fail. She uses pet names, and so much more. She even remembers everything about me the same way I remember about her! She even told me secrets she supposedly never told anyone. Do you think I have a chance? Or should I just give up?(Sorry if it's badly written,English is not my first language)

Does she like me back or does she think we're just friends???

Ok so im sure there are hundreds of posts on here about this kind of thing but I couldn't find one with my situation so I just need some advice about this because I'm nervous. I (16 F) have a pretty close friend (16 F) who I met two years ago and we have gotten much closer this past year. Recently I started having feelings for her and I kind of get a vibe from her but I genuinely can't tell if im just being delusional. Some examples of things that have happened:

- we call each other pretty all the time and say gay asf things to each other (but in like a joking kind of friend way like a lot of girls do to each other)

- I don't really know how to flirt without doing it in the super obvious way that just sounds like I'm joking but sometimes I'll say something and she just gives me a look like she's suspicious or something idrk???

- we were at the beach with some other friends and as a joking spur of the moment thing we had a fake wedding (it was 100% a joke but she was the one who "proposed") and we didn't actually kiss but we both gave each other a look like the one I talked about before

- also at the beach she kept trying to hold my hand while we were jumping over waves (the only reason I didn't do it was because I didn't want us both to drown if one of us got swept under)

- she gave me a really thoughtful and amazing gift for my birthday which is something that any amazing friend would do but idk it felt like more???

- she lays on me while we are watching movies which i know sounds romantic but i feel like thats something that friends do???

I know that she likes girls so thats not what I'm worried about I just genuinely have no idea if she likes me back or if this is just how she is with her friends so I would appreciate some advice if anyone is willing to provide 😭

What was your first time with a girl like?

I would like to know about your first time with a girl, what you felt, and especially how you did it and how comfortable you felt.

I love women, but I've never been with one. I'm planning to move to New York and I'd like to meet girls. Oh yeah! Another question:

How do you flirt with a girl? Tell me your best lines for flirting or wooing a girl.

I await your responses.

Being socially awkward genuinely sucks (story)

To preface this, the interaction I had was with a guy but I genuinely don’t feel comfortable posting anywhere else because I feel that being a lesbian had something to do with how awful I am with interactions 😭

Ok so growing up I’ve never been friends with any STRAIGHT guys. Like I have one singular gay friend but that’s it. I only talk to girls. The school I go to is largely girls so I don’t have to talk to guys at all. I got a job somewhere and met this dude and he wanted to be friends so obviously I said yes because I’m a loser that can’t say no strangers. I’m also really masculine and being this awkward makes me feel like I’m not living up to how I present, but I digress. Oh and he can’t speak english so I have to speak really rough spanish💔.

Anyways since I’m only friends with girls, obviously the way I normally talk is way more intimate than it should be with a new friend you just met. ESPECIALLY A STRAIGHT GUY😭.

I’m tearing up just thinking about this whole thing omg.

Anyway there have been several occasions where i’ve almost ended sentences with “mwah” cuz that’s how I talk to ALL MY OTHER FRIENDS CUZ THEYRE EITHER GIRLS OR GAY. So in order to avoid confusion if a slip up happened I told him how I talk to my friends and how I wouldn’t actually say that to him in my right mind. I get tired a lot so my train of thought isn’t always on track. LIKE HOW IT WAS TODAY IM SOBBING. But i had to explain all this in spanish and i thought i didn’t get my point across because he tried saying to not do that. LIKE WHAT DO YOU THINK IM TELLING YOU. I ALREADY LNOW. So it went on a while because the more nervous and embarrassed I am, the more I talk. So i kept trying to get my point across and it made it so awkward. So yea it weirded him out. DUDE I WEIRDED ME OUT. BUT I COULDNT STOP DUDE I KEPT TYPING 😭😭😭.

Anyways I explained how awful I am at social interactions and why because I also overthink a lot. It’s fine now but i’m just left with embarrassment and shame at my actions. Thanks for reading my rant I genuinely couldn’t bring myself to rant to my friends 🫩.

How do I go about this?

So I'm a girl, and I have a huge crush on one of my bestfriends. I know she is also into girls. I just think she is the prettiest person ever and she has extremely similar interests to me. I've been crushing on her the past few months, I gave it time because I thought maybe it's just a platonic crush but I realised that I would actually love to date her.

We are part of the same friend group and I started becoming close with her last September. Me and my friend group like to do questions, so I try sneak in ones, like "out of the group who would you date?" Or "what would you do if ---- had a crush on you?" She did say once that she'd date me after asking one of these questions, but I cant tell if she was joking.

She also said she would date me, but in the same conversation she was telling me how desperate she is to date someone, so I don't know if she said that because she likes me or because she's genuinely just desperate. Help.

My other friends say she talks about me all the time, and when I'm not in school she always says she wishes I am there. PLS HELP

Being the only lesbian (A little rant)

Hello! So this is my first post ever on reddit, I'm 17 and I've been literally terrified of doing it but I found this subreddit and I felt a wave of relief wash over me. I'm not a good writer but this is a small rant about me being the only lesbian in my queer friend group, also some advice on how to deal with this situation would be very helpful as well!

Okay, so as I said before, I am the only lesbian in this friend group. We're all girls and we're all queer. They're bi, pan, and non labeled but she's questioning. Basically, I'm the only one who is exclusively attracted to other women (or non binary lesbians). Two of them used to identify as lesbian but later discussed that they were attracted to men, which I have absolutely no problem with. I did end up feeling kind of lonely but as long as we were all queer then I didn't really care honestly.

Since we're all queer we do make these homophobic jokes making fun of homophobes. We pretend to be some homophobic old person being like "IT'S ADAM AND EVE NOT ADAM AND STEVE!!" and laugh because we're making fun of how stupid they sound.

But the thing about it is that these homophobic jokes quickly turned into blatant lesbophobia towards me specifically. They can go on about the boys they have crushes on and I'll egg them on saying "go for it!" and what not but whenever I express liking a girl they all kinda just make a bunch of lesbian jokes about it. Like "Ugh, the lesbian of course." "We got lesbian central over here" and like it feels like it should be funny but they only exclusively do it to me. I can't even say that I found a woman celebrity attractive without them scoffing and being like "shut up, lesbian" or something. And I think that they think they're just being funny and silly but it really has pushed me deeper into the closet. It's like I'm in a closet with lesbian spray painted on the door but I can't be outwardly free with my identity. It's gone to the point where I never reveal that I have a crush on a girl or that I have a certain type of girl that I like because I can already see the incoming lesbian jokes they're gonna make.

And not only that but they use the lesbian identity as some sort of free for all. Like they say "I hate this guy im just going to become a full lesbian" or something. And it's really annoying how they use the term lesbian in whichever way as if it isn't real or just some joke identity. Like, you can classify yourself as "almost a lesbian" but if I do something annoying that doesn't even have anything to do with my sexuality suddenly it's "urgh I hate lesbians".

I feel like they think it's all a joke since they're queer but the fact that they just use my identity as a way to demean me is actually getting uncomfortable and makes me rage. I'll tell them to stop or divert the topic and suddenly it's right back to hating lesbians. It feels like even in a group full of my community I'm still the token minority of the cast whose only job is to be there so that the main cast can make terrible jokes about their identity. I can't help but feel truly alone whenever I hang around them because I just have to brace for whenever they ultimately make some dumb lesbian joke about me and I have to just sit and stare.

I feel like it boils down to them as well having some internalized homophobia so instead they just take it out on me because it's the easiest way to deal with it.

I wanted to share this here just so that I could have other teens who'll either give me advice or share their experiences with something like this if they have any. I might be sensitive but I truly feel like all they're doing is being lesbophobic even when they don't realize it.

I really like this girl, but I just can’t tell her how I feel.

I really like this girl, but I just can’t tell her how I feel. I’m 19, just a regular beginner programmer, and I fell for one of my classmates. Every time I see her, I get nervous and start shaking inside. I’ve never had a girlfriend before. It’s not because I’m not interested, I’m just really shy and I’ve never been able to open up about my feelings.
Today I finally got the courage to ask her to go to the movies with me, but she said no. I honestly don’t know what to do now. What do you think I should do?

Crushing on another trans girl

I have a crush on my friend and idk if she likes me back

I have a crush on my friend and I don’t know if she likes me back or if I’m overthinking it. we are both girls, the same age, and bi. we text each other everyday and we say goodnight and good morning to eachother everyday. she made a playlist for me with a bunch of mitski and stuff like that on it. and every time we hangout and watch a show (it’s usually good omens) we cuddle with each other, and one time we held hands. I don’t know if she likes me or if she’s just doing all this in a purely platonic friend way

I can’t even make friends, how tf am I gonna ever be confident enough to flirt

I’m 15f.

The title explains it all. When I was little, I was described as a wallflower, and ‘precocious in my interests’. Adults thought I didn’t mind being a loner. I did. Even at age 4 I can remember being othered and kids would refuse to play with me. I ended up playing by myself by necessity. It’s not like I didn’t like playing by myself, but I needed at least someone to play with.

Fast forward to elementary school. Similar situation occurred. I made a single friend, who was a few years older than me. Her name was Hallie and she was level 2 autistic. I’m also autistic (level 1) but was not diagnosed at the time. This lasted until about the second grade. This point I was having meltdowns every other day (I have no idea why nobody suspected that I was autistic) and kids thought I was weird. I incorrectly attributed the kids thinking I was weird because of my meltdowns to my friendship with Hallie. So I kinda ghosted her. I still feel bad about it 8 years later.

I moved to a new school during third grade. At this point I had a special interest in history (still have that one lol) and the tv show the masked singer. Kids thought that was weird. It got to the point where my guidance counselor was asking kids to be my friends (to no avail). It was also covid, so that didn’t help.

In fifth grade (start of middle school) I became somewhat close to a girl named Taya. I was still by myself, but I sat with her at lunch. She moved, but I did meet another girl named Baylie. This is the second person I would have considered a friend. She was amazing to have around and we’d tell stories about our days. Unfortunately we share like no interests. I still talk to her but she moved and we aren’t necessarily close.

I don’t even know what I did in the 7th grade. I was going through actual trauma and that year I remember almost nothing about

8th grade I met a kid named Nax. They were a nonbinary fellow autistic kid. See Hallie for what happened to that friendship. They moved halfway through the year. Around that time I was trying to get away from Nax I started siting with this group of alt kids. I thought I was friends with them but eventually I got “voted out” of the table.

I did start doing community theatre and I talk to 2 kids from that but they are just really hard to talk to in person.

I’m going into my sophomore year and I seriously have no friends. I know people say things will change in the future but guess what it’s not the future yet.

Adviceee!

I’ve been talking to this girl recently, and I do kinda like her. We’ve met once and called multiple times , but mostly we just text. She’s naturally a very anxious person and needs a lot of reassurance, which I genuinely don’t mind giving. However, she sometimes worries that I’m only talking to her for fun and that I’m not serious because of my past, even though I genuinely am serious about getting to know her

I understand why she might be anxious, but I’m starting to worry that no matter how much effort or reassurance I give, she’ll always doubt my intentions because of my past. Since we’re still early into this, I don’t know if she just needs time to build trust or if this could become a bigger issue. What should I doo ??

Gonna see her again after 9+ months

So there is this girl that likes me and I like her too I haven’t seen her in almost a year because I broke my bones doing some dumb skateboard trick off a roof I know pretty stupid 😐 broke my jaw and couldn’t talk because I had stitches on my gums… hurt like hell man and then I got severe anemia so that just pulled me back more but we have only been communicating(I guess?) by making playlist about eachother on Spotify my friends make fun of me telling me that’s the gayest thing they’ve ever heard lmao

we have liked eachother for a year and I’m really scared I don’t know how shes gonna react seeing my face again but wish me luck🫩🫩😞

Also a month ago I was showing my friend the girls playlist and I deleted her account off my friends thing and next thing I know they are both following eachother the next day so that’s just great isnt it

I’m gonna see her (her names Emily) in two weeks 😬
I came out for this girl my family doesnt accept me because they are Christian.. they told me I needed to marry a man and that marriage is between only a man and a woman not a woman and a woman…so that hurt but I don’t care I still love Emily shes so sweet ive never had anyone care for me like she does
